Am I missing something in the scene where they see the iceberg and gives directions to move hard to starboard (right) but the turn left? And then again says move hard to port (left) and they turn right? I doubt Cameron would mess up this detail, so maybe the directions were reversed back then? Also, a weird thing to think about is that all of the life boats need to be lowered by 2 men, on the boat. Even if they had enough boats, 2 men at every station are basically dead. I don't have NEARLY enough company loyalty to be that sucker lol

Back when I first heard Cameron's next movie was going to be Titanic I remember thinking what a waste for such a great action director to be wasted doing this. Then I saw the movie and it remains one of my all time favorite movies. The scene filmed where the Titanic was docked was opposite of reality so Cameron flipped the images around and any printing on signs on set was actually printed backwards so when the film was flipped later the writing would be correct. Following in Terminator 2's shoes, the budget for this movie was the biggest of all time at the time. How does a director follow up the biggest grossing movie of all time, well with another biggest grossing movie of all time... amazing. A guy in the background of some shots with Bill Paxton was the actual guy who discovered the Titanic's resting place at the bottom of the ocean. Titanic won 14 Oscars tying Ben Hur for most wins by a single movie. Glad you noticed that the movie made a point that the piano top, I think that is what it was, couldn't actually support both Rose and Jack. I believe specifically because of the Titanic disaster cruise ships after this had to have enough lifeboats to allow all passengers and crew the means to escape. I feel bad saying this but I think the boats not returning may have been the correct call. Really, would all those people in the water not have swamped the boats and pulled them down?

great reaction, in a similar vein, I'd love to see you react to another true seafaring film, The Perfect Storm

Fun fact: the old couple in bed were real people. Isidor, and Ida Strauss. Isidor was co-owner of Macy’s, and though he was super rich he refused to use his status to get on a boat while there were still a ton of women and children. His wife Ida refused to leave without him, and they were last seen on deck walking arm in arm.

The woman who tells her kids stories in bed to keep them calm is the woman who plays John O'Connor's foster mother.
