Saw this one way too young but left such an impact on me. I hope a reaction to T2 is in the future, it clarifies a few questions and answers why it is technically called Trainspotting. In case no one else brings it up Spud's girlfriend is Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter

I'm too scared to watch this. I saw it when it first came out, just a little before the dancing baby became a thing- both were 1996. I was 16 (lol). Anywho- this movie is *intense* and I had a really hard time with the bender/baby scene. It gave me nightmares. Then the fecking Dancing Baby came out and was *everywhere*. Every commercial, every print ad, all over the noob internet- people made little animations of it for everything. I worked at a department store and there were t-shirts in every department with that damn dancing baby. Every time I saw it I immediately pictured the Trainspotting scene and I had nightmares about it that whole year.

Some fun differences between the movie and the book: Sick Boy shoots the dog so it attacks the owner, while having a converstion in his head with Sean Connery, so that he can rush up and save the man by killing the dog. I do not recommen reading it.
