Love legally blonde, referenced it on my entrance interview to law school and the Dean of admissions was not a fan. It’s a fun movie, the most unrealistic thing about it is her going from a 143 to a 179 on her LSAT. That’s not happening Also the not knowing about the assignment first day. They thoroughly tell you what is going to happen going in. Orientation, reading lists, etc. The Socratic method and how classes run are pretty infamous. But it’s a movie and I get why the scene exists Oh and law school is 3 years. At least in the US

The shifty dude is Oz Perkins, son of Anthony 'Psycho' Perkins, and he became a great horror director with I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Blackcoat's Daughter and Gretel and Hansel

You asked about bullies. This thing happened with my son (12yo) this spring, where he often came home complaining about a guy in his class who was being a jerk. Not physically, but laughing at him and stuff like that. Their regular teacher was on sick leave and the substitute wasn't able to intervene. And honestly, my reaction (as someone who was bullied for 13 years, including pre-school) was a sort of despair and anger. I listened to my son and took his concerns seriously and took his side when he said the other guy's an asshole. But my ex did something more constructive: she contacted the teacher directly, who also talked to the other kid's mom. Then the two moms talked with each other, with understanding and respect, and exchanged their sons' views on what had been going on. Somewhere along in this process the kids also talked with the teacher. This happened late in the spring, so I don't know about how it'll turn out in the long run, but the kids got along better after that. Obviously this isn't a case of a bully beating the shit out of a weaker person and I'm lucky enough to have gotten my son to a much better school than the one I was in, but I'd say there's a chance that a pre-emptive conversation can prevent things from spiralling out and foster emotional intelligence. It least that worth trying, instead of adults just throwing their hands in the air and punishing kids without ever listening to their point of view.

Simone, would you just get George to watch "You Got Mail" for the channel already? I'm sure he'll love it...

Moni Castaneda

Oh just now watching Selma Blair I have to suggest you react to The Sweetest Thing... it's one of my favorite chick flicks.... also starring Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate

Gunnar Rea

If you both watched the Legal Eagle vid for the channel I would not object.. Just saying..

Is it the... Let's call it "Aerosmith scene"??? If so that's the most I've ever laughed at the movie theater....

For Simone Only! As to your issue with somebody ("George") doing bad puns and dad jokes. Solution is that your local PetSmart - "Shock Collar!" As you seem to know technical people, you could probably wire one that would plug directly into electrical receptacle and therefore force compliance of those people making bad puns and irrelevant remarks (not mentioning names "George") in addition, you can house break unnamed person ("George") in relatively a l short amount of time. At very little expense you can accomplish the same thing with a tightly rolled up newspaper and whack unknown person ("George") on the nose. On the other hand, I find that person's ("George") comments to be witty and urban.

Awkward guy is Anthony Perkins’s son.

I'm sorry to hear that you guys got bullied in school . The kindness thing with a bully doesn't really work , at least in my opinion . You have to stand your ground and defend yourself if the need arises. Your actions must be justified when trying to stop a bully , but even then as soon as the cycle starts, it will end . When it comes back into circulation it could be more intense or less but as long as you know that your not the instigator , you can walk with your head held high. Unfortunately, in today's world all bullying is done online now and not face to face. People can say nasty things to one another when they have a keyboard in front of them and there miles away from each other . Take social media out of the equation , people would be a lot more civil if they had to actually face their targets

Really enjoyed watching this with you both. Fun movie that was clearly geared toward girls back when this was new but I feel it can now be a lot more widely appreciated. Good stuff!

So the awkward dude is Oz Perkins, son of Anthony Perkins who was the star of Psycho. Oz has become quite a brilliant director making small horror and suspense films. I’m a huge fan.

You guys should check out the first movie that caused me to have a crush on Reese Witherspoon, Overnight Delivery. Plus it co-stars an equally young Paul Rudd, and she drives a purple VW Thing.
