Russell Crowe actually made a Noah movie. I just remember it being very weird, which makes sense as Darren Oronosfky directed it. (not a diss; I love Black Swan and The Fountain)

The two Austin Powers reactions also did really good on Youtube so maybe the third one would too... just saying...

Judging by their non reaction to Hank from Breaking Bad I am guessing they either didn't recognize him or they haven't seen the series which would make for a great reaction series.

Joseph and his coat of many colors is the story you were thinking of Simone, and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical loosely based on that story.

You can’t. Be fired. From CONGRESS. You can be voted out, but that isn’t what they meant. The “Oh no, God’s gonna get me fired” stuff … I guess it’s a small thing, but it drove me crazy. Basic civics, folks. John Goodman is not his boss and cannot fire him. It’s not even lazy, it’s like you have to get it wrong on purpose to get it this wrong.

You mentioned Jacob's Ladder, George. It's also a film: a pretty damn unique horror movie from 1990 with Tim Robbins in it. I've no idea how popular it is these days, though. But I sure would love to see you guys react to it.

Jacob's Ladder is brilliant but i can't see it happening here. They wouldn't pick it as a random watch and if it ever makes a poll, it won't score well.

Just throwing it out for their promise of watching all the suggestions eventually ;)

I agree Bruce Allmighty is better, and the dance feels really off, but other than that, I dont care about the plot wholes because its still just a comedy even tho yes some things still feel weird and I still like it, its a really fun ride.

Gumby and his horse pal, Pokey, were nationally known/loved claymation characters from the 50s, who were still common knowledge in the 80s (poseable toys, tshirts, lunchboxes, etc), and now, like everything, are all but lost to the sands of time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0H_plncPDs

Even worse than I remember

The irony of course is this story is about selfish mankind almost killing lots of innocent people and God and Evan (Noah) stepping in to saving them... while the original story is about a spiteful genocidal God killing all those people lol. The original story certainly wasn't about an act of random kindness but a dictator God spiting those that don't obey him and willing to commit near genocide. This was definitely worse than I remember.

I almost didn't get that "Man plans, God laughs" adage reference right after God sends the animals away. Evan says he has plans, and God says "Plans!?" and laughs really hard.

The shaving scene surprised me, because I did literally the exact same thing in college, c. 1996. I had just gotten a DV camera, and for the first time could hook it up over firewire and dump video to my computer. I have a thick beard that grows in fast, and it's always been a signature/joke with friends thing, so I decided to make exactly what's in this movie. I had to plan it out, so I could shave the right parts at the right times, but I did the shave a strip, cut to washing the razor, cut back, hair is back in the shaving cream free stroke thing. I did that a few times, first shocked, then more and more annoyed, then did a quick montage of staring at myself the whole time, not blinking, until it was done, then picked up the towel, wiped my face, and dropped the towel to reveal the whole beard again. I wish I could find that old DV tape to compare it. It was a big hit in my video editing class. Mine was set to the tune "They Call Me the Fat Man" by Fats Domino.
