You get water from carbohydrates. Glucose molecules burned in the prescence of oxygen (which happens when they are broken down in the body) turns into water and carbon dioxide.

Am I the only one that thinks this Idiocracy isn't really that funny? I like Mike Judge but this is his weakest work IMO. Also, Dax Shepard has never been and never will be funny.

You can only get water from a carbohydrate if it is a disaccharide. You would get one water molecule when the body breaks the disaccharide into two monosaccharides. An example is turning sucrose (table sugar) into its two components of glucose and fructose. That isn't a lot of water and sports drinks mostly use glucose as their flavor enhancer to start with anyways. They still get water because 90% of a sports drink is already water. (89% of a soda)

I remember being super stoked about it when it was first released, bought it on DVD without having seen it, and being very much underwhelmed by it. I never watched it again until watching this reaction. It's fine, but it's pretty far from being Mike Judge's best work, IMO.

I'm not sure if you guys like political comedies but I would like to recommend The Death of Stalin with Steve Buscemi and Jason Isaacs.

Good film, and its also quite accurate, it is literally how Stalin died, they did not really have to take much leeway.

the sad thing about water & our current state of idiocracy, is that the conspiracy theorists got ahold of the "fluoridation of water" back in I think the 50s and started screaming about mind control. it's where the "precious bodily fluids" comes in to Dr Strangelove, and has continued since then. So, conspiracy theories, lack of critical thinking & suppression of history books/ classes plus corporate takeover pretty much mean ''Murica is at least more than halfway to this future. 🤯 Fuddruckers was absolutely real & a delish hamburger place but all the ones down here in San Diego closed, booo!

Yeah, Fuddruckers were great burgers. Had forgotten about them. Every day living here in 'Murica makes me want to move to Canada or one of those 'shithole' countries that seem to rank the highest for happiness. Or just open a smoothie hut on a beach down in the Baja Peninsula.
