Strongly recommend watching this spoiler-free introduction to the world of The Expanse. It's only 10 minutes, and doesn't need a reaction or anything, but it will do a really good job of helping you to understand all the moving parts and be less confused about what's going on. The show starts to really pick up speed moving forward. It drags pretty hard to start but things get real good real fast

The footage is taken from the first few minutes of the first episode... I suppose the voiceover does indicate a small element about one plotline, although not in a big way: we already know from the footage that the blue stuff is strange and from her reaction we know it is terrifying, so I don't think their use of the A word spoils a big reveal. But I take the point that it is a minor spoiler of sorts. Glad you liked the video though: I do think it's really good for people who have no prior knowledge of the books or series: the first few episodes are really confusing otherwise.

Yeah, except the A thing there aren't a lot of spoilers in this - so might be a good idea to get some background info from the video :-) Though if I remember correct the thing will be revealed mid season one...

I don't know about it getting better real fast, but It does get way better. season one kinda sets everything up, and season two is pretty out there, but omg its kicks ass season 3. I think

PLEASE just hang in there. From this point forward the show just gets better and better and better! This is seriously the BEST SHOW I've ever seen! The rest of this season picks up and starts to gain momentum but season 2-6 are absolutely INCREDBILE! You will really start to understand the world and the characters. The show started out on Sci-fi with very little budget. It eventually got picked up by Amazon because the fans fought for this show! I PROMISE YOU that you will end up so hooked on this show and the cast that you will not believe how you could possibly second guess it. This is such a vast world that they had to build and PLEASE trust us, we wouldnt steer you wrong. Just look at the rotten tomatoes scores for the future seasons, if you have any doubts how good this show actually is. It will all just click at some point and you will never look back!

I agree. I had a really rough time with S1 to the point that after finishing it I was not going to watch further. But I did after a pause and now It is one of my favorite if not the most favorite show I've ever seen.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to make a suggestion for the next tv poll (forgive me if it's not) but I'd love to see Simone and George react to the BBC series Sherlock. The episode length and season length would fit this format nicely, plus I think they both would really enjoy the show. :)

I agree, Sherlock is a great series. I loved it. But also please consider the movie K-Pax, it's a hidden gem.

This is kinda bumming me out 😞 I was really looking forward to your reaction to the Expanse when I signed up for the Patreon and that you are having trouble with it makes me sad. *heavy sigh* ... Oh well. Kind of curious what you wanted Holden to do instead of transmit what he did. The Canterbury was blown up by stealth ships. Only Mars has stealth tech as far as anyone knows ... even Alex said that. They found a Martian transponder sending out the distress signal, and the first ship that comes for them is the Martian flagship. Before they took them and were able to do whatever they were going to do (which could have been anything) he broadcast everything he knew about what happened. Sure that played into the hands of the unknown antagonist, but it was kind of a no brainer in my opinion.
