The Bourne trilogy would be high on my list also.

The Guest(2014). A very under the radar movie for most but really good.

I would do an Aaron Sorkin poll. Some great movies (A Few Good Men, American President, Moneyball, Steve Jobs, The Social Network, Molly's Game) and TV shows (The West Wing, Newsroom). A little different style than what you have been reacting to.

If you’ve ever seen the move We’re The Millars, you’ll never think of Black Hawk Down the same

If you want to see the hell of war watch Platoon. It won 4 Oscars including best picture and best director. Willem DaFoe is a star along with Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger. It is a hard one to watch at times. Man’s inhumanity to man is a strong theme is this war picture.

Aaron Sorkin is an amazing and talented writer. His influence and writing are generally masterpieces. This is a good recommendation on your part.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is a movie I'd love to see y'all react to.

platoon really should have been on the list; it's gritty, personal, and very real. i saw it in the theatre with a vet and he said it was the best portrayal he'd ever seen of his time. as a side note, i recreated the entire movie in comic form using star wars clone trooper action figures.

Please watch K-Pax, It's weirdly heart warming. Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges.

Jay Davis

Agreed. Platoon and Apocalypse Now are foundational imo.

October Sky (1999) please
