"Hey everybody!" Puts a smile on my face every time. This happens to be one of my favorite movies so I am really looking forward to watching it with you guys. One of these days I'm gonna do a full reaction too. If adult life would ever calm down long enough. Thanks for sharing about that tattoo George. I have been curious about a number of them. I don't always share what mine mean and so I know how personal they can be. The more I watch you guys too the more I dig your banter and the way you interact with each other. Explain when it needs explaining. Tease when it needs teasing. I could use some friends like you. Your knowledge about the culture and what is going on is awesome as well George. Even though I have seen this a number of times I learned quite a few new things. Thank you. And about the dirt. You can tell the ph, roughly, by the smell and taste. Or so it's said. Maximus the farmer would definitely know about that trick. Maximus the general would too I would think. Lots of blood would change the ph and so one could tell if a battle had taken place, or not. And the hand rubbing with it. Drys the hands. Think gymnast talc powder, the cheap kind. Great reactions again guys! Always a pleasure sharing these shows and things with you. I look forward to every new one you guys do. P.S. Simone always wearing good music types of shirts. Music is life. And George wearing a potato shirt on my first patron announced video. You guys honor me in ways you may not even know. P.S.S. I'm not crying! Your crying! Shut up!

The little wooden models that Maximus keeps, that symbolize his wife and child to him, and the habit of rubbing the earth into his hands... I wonder if it's a pagan ritual of sorts.

The maggots thing... surgeons use them today because they only eat the dead flesh, correct?

I have heard about it in the past quite a bit. Not as much into the 2010's though. It may have just been fairly demystified at this point. IIRC, for our modern use, it has something to do with needing them to do the basic cleaning of the dead cells vs using chemicals/medications due to complications such as an allergic reaction. Even in our modern times, Mother Nature can do one hell of a job. They may even be faster and more efficient than modern medicine. Don't quote me on that though.
