The mother of all absurd and sarcastic comedy movies. In my opinion still never been beaten. Looking forward to this one. :-)

After Airplane! the Zucker brothers went on to make Police Squad!, a comedy TV series starring Leslie Nielsen that in turn went on to become the Naked Gun movies. Definitely worth the look for anyone who liked Airplane!

You guys are pretty young so I could tell quite a few of the jokes went over your head but I think you did great with what you knew some of it was just of that time period. I was very young when this came out so I had to watch it again as an adult to get them all. Movies like this would not be allowed to be made anymore in our current culture. It didn't age well but it's still a classic.

So many of these jokes must have been even more funny to people back then. The genius of this movie is that they used a lot of serious actors who were kind of past their prime, so seeing dramatic actors like Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack, and Peter Graves in such a ridiculous movie must've been extra hilarious. And the older woman who says "I speak jive" was famous as the mom from 50s show "Leave It To Beaver", I remember my dad laughing his ass off when she popped up speaking urban slang but I didn't know why at the time haha. The film makers basically made fun of all the shows and movies the Boomers grew up with and some that were even popular at the time. They were pretty subversive and funny as hell. Also, I'm not sure but I think the entire premise is a spoof on a disaster movie from the 70s called "Airport '75". Oh yeah, and you guys are probably gonna love "Life of Brian", and great reaction, glad you guys enjoyed it!

The woman who said, "Jim never drinks a second cup of coffee at home," said almost the same line in a coffee commercial. The intent of the commercial was that she was buying inferior coffee for her home, but there was an alternative.
