*This poll is for shows that go between big shows, we will do a big show poll when Breaking Bad is nearing its end*

1. What is consider a small show: 3 or less seasons, each season has less than 12 episodes or each episode is half an hour or less, shows where each seasons story is stand alone.

2. What is considered a big show: 3 or more seasons, each episode is an hour or more or if there are 16 or more episodes per season, or shows where the story is a singular arc.

Jeff K

Come onnnnnnn The Bear… especially given George’s own restaurant experience.

Tacitus G. Kilgore

Fargo TV series for next poll please? it's top quality TV and seasons aren't too long

Boyan Konov

Let's go The Bear easily the best show in the poll

megamoo chilli

Black Mirror is perfect for reactions. And its top quality, I think.

paco2012av

I hope Severance wins!!

Jon Hoover

Queen's Gambit would be an AWESOME reaction!

Nikodem

Severance 💯 Super trippy, weird and interesting. High concept.

Ethan Holgate

Derry Girls is brilliant so funny hope you check it out one day

Danika Silva

Nurse Jackie 💯💯💯 Dexter 💯💯💯

GnolRevilo

Andor has incredible writing. Probably not going to win but hope it gets a look at in the future.

Balmung

Andor is phenomenal

MasterElodin

Black mirror is easily one of the best shows of our generation. Some pretty dark topics though but I'd love to see a reaction :) Also the bear seems to be kind of hard to get access to since it's Hulu exclusive

Bon Wa

Omg I watched Blue Eye Samurai last month, it was so freaking good!! Probably the best TV Show I've seen in a couple of years. Hope we get to see you react to it one day, even if it doesn't win this poll 😊

Greg Johanson

Blue eye samurai is so freaking good

Śéáń

Fantastic choices all round. I've ticked more options than left unticked, and only left two unticked as I've not personally watched them yet. Quality stuff. (For a future similar show poll, I'm going to lobby for Barry again. Very short episodes, 4 seasons, 4hrs per season. Also phenomenal in both cast and writing)

P Windiddy

Gutted not to see Haunting of hill house on there, next one maybe..

Felreign

Gravity Falls for next poll?

Eric J Watkins

Until you DO watch The Bear, you will be missing out on the best show since Ted Lasso. Also, I'd just like to celebrate that for this one brief moment in time, something I like is polling well, haha!

David Castaneda

Would love to see the two of you react to ‘Good Omens.’ Only two seasons so far.

Lanny Fisher

Andor is Star Wars for grown-ups. A must-see.

Greg Johanson

Also for a shorter show in the future I would recommend Hazbin Hotel if you dig musicals.

Patrick Egan

NGL, none of those shows excite me. Guess I'll have a break to catch up on other things.

Johanna Caulfield

screaming/crying/throwing up over severance

Patrick Egan

No harder than a show on Netflix, Disney+ or any other streaming service.

Grinznmore

Queens Gambit a fascinating ride with each episode a new twist. Good soundtrack to boot.

Ian Hunt

Andor for me, i’d echo a few others and say you should start the Mike Flanagan Netflix series (Hill House/Bly Manor/Midnight Mass/House of Usher)

Robbie Corrie

Seen it requested already but Gravity Falls I think would be a great thing for the channel to watch. The show is two seasons with a bunch of canon shorts between seasons one and two and it is a full complete series with an overarcing storyline that has a resolution and never got cancelled before it's time like some shows did

Deco

Good poll, gotta second haunting of Hill house next time around

Amar

Ted series or The Good place should be here. You need some comedy between the Breaking bad episodes.

Eric Wilson

Something worth considering at some point, Dirk Gently Holistic detective agency. It has an old British show where pretty much every episode is stand alone and it's like 6 episodes or somethingo and there is a 2010s show that ran 2 seasons, but season 2 was absolutely crap, and season one was a complete self enclosed story.

J Danger87

Andor is so good, not like the other Star Wars shows, it's Movie Quality! For longer shows would you consider more of a sitcom style like Community or Corner Gas?

Amar

Also let's go Queens Gambit!!!

Kangdarius

Don’t care about any of them so I guess I just won’t vote. Wish y’all would do legend of korra already

Chris Gunderson

I'd like to put in plugs for both Season 1 of Castle Rock and Midnight Mass if you haven't seen one or the other.

Robbie Corrie

Just a heads up if you ever watch Derry Girls, it's worth trying to hunt down the original Channel 4 broadcast versions if possible, some of the international edits such as Netflix has taken out some of the songs used for emotional impact likely due to copyright, especially the end of season 1

mike

The Good Place is a fantastic show

Lee Meehan

Derry Girls, got to love it, you might need sub titles 😅

MasterElodin

Sure for America. For Europe it's often a little more annoying with Hulu and HBO. Also I don't want to add even more subscriptions. If I wanted to have a subscription for every single show or movie on here I'd be at like 10 different payments each month. And Hulu is one of the least common I feel like. At least I never had to go on there to watch anything.

Michael

Black mirror is one the best shows ever. Very cringy and extremely smart writing. Also terrifying to know we aren't far from that

matthew lockyer

Surprised Derry Girls isnt more popular. Then again, it's the only show amongst these choices that I have watched.

jmundt33a

Queen’s Gambit is excellent.

Julian G

Is there any way we can get The Boys on this? You guys did season 2, but Season 3 hasn't been finished, and season 4 is about to drop soon. Gen V also takes place between season 3 and 4.

Gary Z

Please Severance or Andor. They’re so good! And they’re currently just one season each so you’ll be caught up quick

W T

Let's go... everything on this list, lmao. I'd be fine if they just worked off that list for the short entries, although Severance is my baby

Deco

An idiot abroad would be great for next poll

Kameron Webb

Man we need to get Barry on the next poll!

Chris Fitzsimons

Derry Girls is brilliant, but it won't win this poll. Consider it as recovery from the more serious shows on this list like you did with Breaking Bad and Ted Lasso.

Michael

Yeah that's one that we are very close to. "The Entire History of You" is another one that probably isn't to far away

J Danger87

Resident Alien would be another fun series.

Ricardo Alanis

Black Mirror, Andor, or Severance would be fantastic.

MasterElodin

I guess the boys would fall under big shows. But I'm with you I can't wait for them to see season 3. Also Gen V

twe

The Bear absolutely, but ... Severance being so low hurts my soul though

Ryan Alexander

Blue eye samurai is in last place. Well, that does it, what little hope I had for humanity is now gone.

Zhivko Yakimov

A few words on the shows I voted for. Andor is from the creator of Rogue One. It is a little slow to get into, but it is by far the best Star Wars TV series made thus far. Its second and final season should premiere this summer. Also, it features Denise Gough (the voice of Yennefer in The Witcher 3 video game), which is always a treat :) The Bear gets massive praise from chefs all over the US, and it is a great depiction of the restaurant industry. It can be a bit stressful, however, and I have seen chefs comment that some scenes caused them anxiety, so George should probably have that in mind. Severance's first season is great, and the concept is interesting. However, it is an ongoing series (its second season should be aired this year), and I have seen similar shows go downhill due to lack of ideas (Lost is probably the best example). Derry Girls is pure joy. You may feel the need to watch it with subtitles, though, as the Irish accent is strong in that one. Also, the series features a lot of licensed music, so it may be tough to edit. It is totally worth watching if you want to simply relax and have good laughs :)

Zhivko Yakimov

I believe Disney+ is the distributor for The Bear in Europe, or at least in Central and Eastern Europe, maybe worth a look. I think Disney+ has a deal with Hulu, FX and Starz for European distribution, as they are currently also airing Shogun (which is an FX series).

Charley matthews

Hot damn some great choices. Andor is my top pick, it sucks so bad that the other Star Wars shows immediately got picked but Andor has to wait even though it is by FAR the best thing Star Wars Disney has ever done.

Adam K

Come on Severance!

horrible

Any is good.nice. Choices

Chris B

Simone and Goerge would love the Queens Gambit.

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

"it is by FAR the best thing Star Wars Disney has ever done." True. To my tastes, the acting and writing quality is an almost unbelievably big notch above anything else Disney has produced in the Star Wars universe. With the exception of Rogue One, that is.

Vilho30

Damn i was sure that Barry was gonna be on this poll, but still there is lot of good options

Ronny Boss

I think y'all would really enjoy a western show called Deadwood. It's three seasons and a movie Or Rome. It's two seasons George you use clips from it a lot on your other channel when talking about the Roman Empire

Aussiefeld

How abour Blackadder, 4 seasons of 6 episodes... Good Omens, 2 seasons of 6 episodes... Dirk Gently's Wholistic Detective Agency, 2 Seasons of 6 episodes.....

Hans Czajkowski Jørgensen

Are we sure we want to subject Simone's sensitive soul to Black Mirror? (just kidding, Simone. I'm sure you'll do fine :) - it is a darkly thought-provoking show for many people)

Kasa

missed opportunity to watch Barry

donness45

Really was hoping to see season 3 of The Boys on this poll. Short show and only 1 season available til June when season 4 drops.

Brandi Miller

I'd love for you to watch the 1st 3 Karate Kid movies from the 80's. Then start the Cobra Kai series.

King_Panarisi

Andor has my vote, you should add The Pacific.

Mastervodo

Very sad to see Blue Eye not getting any love. Best animated series since Arcane. I don't know why more people don't want to see it!

Florian Geyer

Black Mirror, for some good old traumatization

FranciscoGios

Just waiting for you guys getting into some Star Wars shows, it's been a while.

dudewheresmycar

Would have hoped for Shogun. It's only going to be a single 10 episode limited series, and so far it's phenomenal.

Byron

Woo none of these seem like a relaxing break between Breaking Bad seasons. It’s like washing down a lasagna with a meatloaf.

Brendan Rafferty

Derry Girls won’t win unfortunately… but it is so good. Watching that first season was probably the first time I laughed so hard at a show in a long time.

Crytek

Would've loved to see Shogun & 3 Body Problem on this list as they're both only single seasons, but still some fun choices.

Andrew Ramos

You should add Warrior as a candidate. It has an interesting historic element to it and plus we need eyeballs on it. It has risen from the dead once and we need views on Netflix to convince them to greenlight season four.

Denashi

Severance! It is truly one of the best and most unique shows I've ever watched! It is such a shame there are so few reactions to it!

john blake

Someday consider Deadwood. Only three seasons.

Jessi

His Dark Materials on HBO would fit the bill for a small show. And it's very underrated imo.

Brendan Rafferty

For future show consideration … HBO’s Generation Kill

Tay Schumaker

Lot of really good choices on here. The Bear or Severance would be my top two. But Andor and Queen’s Gambit are also great

Jakub Krelik

Peaky blinders when?

TERB!

Even though I still need to watch it, I'm goin with The Bear, as I heard it be good. Future Man for a possible future watch? A batshit and hilariously insane 3 seasons.

Gnafoo

Way too many good options on this one. Severance, Queens Gambit, Black Mirror, Blue Eye Samurai are all great :-). Given that Severance is currently open ended, my vote probably goes to Queens Gambit or Black Mirror... Would be great if they come back to these later :-).

Garrett Jay Christian

Lots of suggestions in this category, and now two more: The End of the F*cking World (2017) and Flowers (2016), both just 2 seasons.

Will Sofer

I’ve never seen anything but the first episode (which I no longer recall), but I know it has Jim Beaver in it, so this gets a thumbs up from me.

Chase Schleich

I'd love to see Black Mirror. That's a show I've always thought about watching, but never have. I'd finally do it if it were done on this channel.

Senec

Absolutely, Severance was excellent, AND they're working on Season 2 currently last I heard!

Tarenor

Andor, yes please :) And also Sandman, currently only 1st season, imaginative TV show by Neil Gaiman (Star Dust, Coraline, American Gods...).

Sean Brown

The Bear is the best show I’ve seen in ages. Hope it wins

Tyrone Tyrone

Ranked Voting 1. Black Mirror 2. Derry Girls 3. Blue Eye Samurai (It deserves it's R rating. Peaches and sausages everywhere😯😄.)

Chris H.

Queen's Gambit is about as magical a short-season show as exists. Even if it doesn't win and get picked to watch, you should both still watch it on your own sometime.

Shadow Queen

Derry Girls very much fits the bill as a relaxing break, it's brilliant! Highly recommend!

Richard

Not nearly enough love for Derry Girls here

Sean Barbante

Please be The Bear. It's so, so great.

Shadow Queen

I'm devastated that Derry Girls isn't getting more love, it's such a brilliant and funny show!

8bitAndy

Wishing Sherlock was on this poll. It's 4 seasons but only 12 episodes total (3 each season) so definitely a small show even though it sort of falls into the criteria you have listed for what you consider to be a big show.

Bill Woods

From the Earth to the Moon -- 10 episode series about the Apollo program, from the people who made Apollo 13.

Joshua J Frost

I honestly don’t know which one I want y’all to watch more. Queen’s Gambit is fantastic, The Bear is so real, and Black Mirror is so trippy I’d expect it to lead to the best conversation/reactions

Princess Mia

the bear has some of the greatest eps of tv i’ve ever seen & derry girls has a special place in my heart it’s hilarious

Tmatts

Dang, The Bear needs more votes

Chris Bush

Hope you guys check out Andor. It’s the best Star Wars related thing Disney has put out. A great show even if you’re not a big Star Wars fan.

Astraeos

Black Mirror for me 100%, but The Bear is absolutely gonna end up winning. Oh well. I'll try that show again if it wins. I watched the first two episodes a while back and just didn't click for me at all. The kitchen stuff was great, personal melodrama stuff was not it. But everybody seems to love it and think it's the best ever, so I probably just need to change my viewpoint. Black Mirror, on the other hand, is a completely different sort of show, thats really hard to explain. It's deep, and thought provoking, and culturally relevant and satirical and has loads of commentary, which is all the stuff that I love most about media like TV or Movies. Black Mirror should be watched, regardless, because of how important it's morality and commentary is to our modern society and to each and every single one of our daily lives.

JBK405

I'm voting for "Derry Girls" and "Blue Eye Samurai". Derry Girls is hilarious with heart, with a surprising perspective that is rarely portrayed on TV. It is one of the very few TV shows or movies to ever really capture the FEEL of being a kid, with all that that entails. Blue Eye Samurai is intense, with gorgeous animation. I'm already clamoring for the second season. Unfortunately both shows look to be on the bottom of the poll, which is a shame.

PIG

I voted Black Mirror but I still have to see Queen’s Gambit. It does look interesting.

Danny Wright

Can the Ozarks go on the poll when breaking bad is done. I bought the highest tier of your patreon so can you consider my vote just once?? 😑

Jason McCloud

The Bear is so well done. I think the two of you would really enjoy it. 🤞🏻

paul rai

I also would love an Ozarks reaction once Breaking Bad ends, since they’re so in close proximity with each other yet wildly different in tone, character, and execution.

Tyler Foster

I've mentioned it before, but please consider "Spaced" for one of the short show polls. Two seasons of 7 episodes each, half hour. From the creators of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End.

Jonny

You two would love ‘Mrs Browns Boys’ it’s amazing!!!

Liesmith

Severance is amazing, and perfect for this channel. Another great, short show is Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Dozens of people have seen it!

ShoNuff3000

Ugh. There can only be one. Severance pleeaase🤞🏾

ShoNuff3000

What!? No Fargo S1&2!?

Pamela Hofman

I can see that Severance is already losing but I think that’s mostly based on the fact that less people have seen it since it’s on Apple+TV. That’s a real shame. It’s a brilliant concept and well done.

Lou Gallucci

Black Mirror is 6 seasons with hourlong episodes. Doesn't really seem to fit the short season category. Each episode does stand pretty much alone though I'm not personally a fan of the show.

Helix

yeah but each season has like 3 episodes lol. im guessing thats why the choice is S1+2

ShoNuff3000

I've seen all except Derry Girl which I will remedy soon. Ranking: 1. Severance 2. Black Mirror 3. Andor 4. Blue Eye Samurai 5. The Bear 6. Queen's Gambit Just my opinion. I think my tastes are closer to George's. Having said that, I wasn't a huge fan of Lord of the Rings. It was just okay.

ShoNuff3000

I've never seen it, but thanks to your love of it...I'm gonna check it out.

ShoNuff3000

Oh my goodness! Where's Haunting of Hill House S1?

ShoNuff3000

Maybe we could curate a black mirror greatest hits episodes equaling the length of one season.

ShoNuff3000

Holy poop! Where's Love + Death + Robots S1?

tundra

MR

Lucky for you, they've already reacted to it!

ShoNuff3000

Are people voting for the show they like the most or the show that would be a better reaction? Example, The Bear is an excellent show but I don't think it would be a good reaction video.

Erik Brown

A little sad to see Better Off Ted missing from the list. Such a funny show, but maybe hard to find.

Scoobay

Oh if you haven’t seen black mirror then 100% gotta get on that.

ShoNuff3000

You should rate your pick on the anticipated number of Simone OMGs.

Astraeos

I think you're missing the fact that, yes it does have 6 seasons, there's only 27 total episodes across those 6 seasons.

Endless_Art

I'm really hoping for Severance or Andor. Both were fantastic and Severance in particular it seems most reactors just missed out on.

soup3097

Black Mirror needs to win this one

ShoNuff3000

If none of these shows excite you, please tell me one of your favorite TV shows.

Kinokind

One of these polls needs to include the German Netflix series "Dark". I think it's THE greatest science fiction series ever made. 26 episodes, most of which are about 44 minutes (although a few are longer). It has a beginning, middle and satisfying end. Rotten Tomatoes gave the 3 seasons 90%-100%-97%. Don't fear the subtitles - we're all adults, here.

Patrick Egan

Season 1 of Silo(Apple TV+) was excellent and really stuck the landing in the season finale, I'm really looking forward to Season 2. The new Shogun miniseries(FX/Hulu) is really good so far, and one of the more beautifully shot shows out right now. Two that I will always recommend to people are Home Before Dark(Apple TV+), which ran for 2 seasons of 10 episodes each, a really well-written murder mystery with a great cast. And The Lost Room(originally SyFy, now it's tough to find as an included choice in streaming services but is available to rent/buy) miniseries, one of the best sci-fi shows I've seen.

Seahag

Have either of you guys ever seen Once Upon a Time for a big show? It’s so good, but I doubt it would ever win anything on here.

FWPJR.

Never seen any of these, so idk

Lars G

Andor and Severance are both really good. Would love to see both reacted to at some point if they don’t win.

KTP

ozark all the way

Arthur

Bummer to see Blue Eye Samurai so clearly bringing up the rear, I really enjoyed it. Really tough competition though, great shows all around here.

E. D.

yeah, fargo is such a fun series and perfect for reactions

DM DC

I haven't seen any of these so I really can't cast a vote. But I thought I'd throw out a suggestion for sometime in the future. It's 3 seasons but they are short seasons numbering 8 to 10 episodes per season. Unless you've already seen it, I was gunna suggest Penny Dreadful. It was a really good gothic series. There were a few things I think could have been done different in the story but overall it was still a really good and intriguing show, and I really enjoyed it.

E. D.

Never watched it, is it similar to American Horror Story?

Chris H.

The thing that Queen's Gambit does that no other show on this list (or any list, really) does is that it breaks all the narrative rules that they tell you in creative writing classes that you cannot break. And danged if legendary old school sci-fi writer Walter Tevis didn't go ahead and ignore those rules. I don't think it'll win, but the character narrative sleight-of-hand the show (and novella) pull off is worth experiencing.

J Danger87

It is full of amazing characters and story moments. Lots of language too.

Daniel H.

Annnnnndor! Love that show!

Ryan Skinner

Man, all you voters are really sleeping on Severance if it's not getting more votes! It's a WILDLY interesting show. But lots of good stuff in here, I'm sure G&S will enjoy anything they choose from this list.

FWPJR.

I’ve heard of pretty much all of them, they are just not my type of shows.

Mark Rohal

It's a travesty. It is the best show of the year so far. It's an amazing watch, plus they could branch out into other adult animated shows (like Invincible)..

Jay

I don't think British sitcoms have a chance here tbh. If Spaced ever makes a poll, I'm certain it would do worse than Derry Girls is doing here.

REDR58

Severance is the best thing here by far. Haven’t watched The Bear yet but I intend to. Andor is okay but holy hell does it drag in parts.

Chase Schleich

Never had an interest in American Horror Story. Only seen one or two episodes of Black Mirror, but I know that every episode is it's own contained story with its own characters and plot. I think it's more like Twilight Zone.

james repka

The original British Office: 2 seasons, 12 episodes, plus a couple of bonus episodes. No fillers, no hugging. More cringe than Curb Your Enthusiasm.

REDR58

If you haven’t already, check out “Apollo 11” (2019) from CNN films. It’s amazing. I was lucky enough to see it in IMAX https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_11_(2019_film)

Elroy

Is andor that good I’ve heard good things about it but I’ve been a little hesitant to watch it

Clint Farley

BES is much lower than I expected. Goes to show different audiences for different reactors.

james repka

HBO's Treme. 3 seasons, ~ 30 total episodes. As brilliant in its own way as The Wire.

David N

Barry has 4 seasons but they are only 8 episodes each. 3*16 > 4*8 therefor I think it should be considered.

james repka

Oops. Treme is 4 seasons, 36 episodes (still worth it). But on the same theme, there is The Plot Against America (HB0 and Simon again), based on Philip Roth's semi-autobiographical novel, about an alternate US history where fascist sympathizer Charles Lindberg defeats FDR to win the presidency in 1940. Mini-series, 6 episodes, remarkably relevant even today.

ExtraBigAssTaco

Had to vote Severance and Black Mirror for MAXIMUM reaction potential, because... damn. I love Derry Girls, especially season 1, and Queen's Gambit was a pretty good show that holds very close to the book.

Opti_Frog

Derry Girls is my favourite show on this list, but i'm not surprised to see it low in the poll. Severance also gets my vote.

Zoe Hart

No good choices!! I chose the Bear, only due to it having a whole episode in my country. I wish they would get into Nordic Noir instead.

Colonel Angus Martin

All options are great, but I think you guys would enjoy Severance the most. Black Mirror probably second, i dont think Simone would enjoy it too much

MPH

Queen's Gambit is the best show on here, IMO, but the first couple of seasons of Black Mirror are incredible.

Ryne Mclane

Severance is like a Black Mirror episode expanded in to a full season. Definitely recommend it to any BM fans who haven't seen it.

Jeff I.

Glad to see Black Mirror and a close second with Queen's Gambit. Hope y'all eventually do Season 3 of Black Mirror, as four of its six episodes are generally considered among the best in the whole series. Severance would be great as well, but it won't ever win, since it's an Apple TV exclusive that not as many people have seen.

JohnB

The Good Place: 4 Seasons, 12 or 13 half hour episodes each season. Great show, and they planned 4 seasons from the start so there is no dragging it out to cash in. Edit: Although, I suppose it might not qualify as a short show because of the stand alone story arc requirement. But I would still consider it a short show.

Matt Gwinn

Dang, I was really hoping to see Deadwood on the list

Andrew Jackson (snabbk..)

It's not helpful at all to say this, but I just don't like TV that's as recent as this. So... "Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em". That's not going to happen, so just take it as a joke. Nobody would think it was unfunny, however old it seems to them.

Jay

Really? I think they'll both love Black Mirror. What makes you think Simone won't enjoy it?

Michael Green

Short or not, I hope they watch it sometime; might be the smartest tv comedy ever made.

Brandon Meng

Missing Schitt's Creek, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Californication, Invincible... but The Bear and The Queen's Gambit are two of my top favorites!!

christopher b swanson

i thought they had seen this couldn't remember, I just threw it out there for a short season, esp since I hate the list produced, and cant stand breaking bad..................nothing for me to enjoy since the sports poll was limited and people have bas taste

Nat B

No Yellowjackets? 2 seasons so far and it's AMAZING! I think both of you would like it and it would make for great reaction videos. OK fine, I'm voting for The Queen's Gambit then, it's very good too.

Michael Green

Andor holds a special place in my heart. It's Star Wars made by people who actually thought carefully about the Empire as a fascist regime and who have actually read a history book. It's also supremely well acted, the dialogue rips, the action is weighty and thoughtful, and it uses real locations so it simply looks better than most of the other Star Wars shows, imo. Can't go wrong with any of these, though!

Dioskur

When I saw the title I was hoping for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance :'(

Garin

Wow, I forgot about that series. Your comment just reminded me of it and how much it surprised me by how good it was. Fingers crossed we get a future reaction to it

R S

Looks like Derry Girls isn't going to win, but it is HIGHLY worth a view at some point. It is SO funny. Also, I think this is a relatively lesser known show, but Pushing Daisies is so wonderful. Two seasons from the early aughts with Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Kristen Chenowith, and a slew of other great actors. It's so quirky and delightful - very interesting show that got shut down too fast.

R S

I forgot about this show!! It was SO good!!

RLYtoxic

Queens Gambit is best show on this poll. Such a great show.

R S

Ohhh yes!! Although it is still airing, so if it keeps getting picked up (fingers crossed!), it might not fall into the "short series" category

Brianna Williams

Still waiting for y'all to watch Dexter. It's a "big show" but so good.

Feignorance

Dark on Netflix is the best sci-fi show, period. 3 seasons

RobTra

Andor is such a good show. Not only the best Star Wars content in years, it's probably also the best acting Star Wars ever had. And I'm a massive Star Wars fan.

DevoLamar

Severance is the shit

ShoNuff3000

I enjoyed all of these TV shows. I based my list on reaction potential.

Tenn Seven

Not letting me vote. :( Must be a Patreon bug or something.

Michael Kemmet

Click on the title(the words), not the box. It's a weird Patreon bug. I think it only happens on web browsers, though I could be wrong.

Quigonjim25

Severance is the best show on that list by a country mile!

Michael Kemmet

Going to request Legend of Vox Machina again. Have no doubts Simone has already seen it multiple times(she was probably a kickstarter backer), but it sounds like George hasn't seen it yet. Come on, Simone. You know you want to watch it again. Just think of showing George the Killbox scene. ;)

Middy

I almost feel bad inflicting Black Mirror on Simone and George. They've done some gnarly horror movies, but nothing I could only describe as "existential depression".

Logan Kerlee

It would make my whole damn year if George became a Critter after watching Critical Role on there. :D

Khan1001

Queens Gambit no question, Anya Taylor-Joy is incredible

Aaron Crawford

Andor is terrifically written Star Wars that isn’t typical Star Wars and I think is very suited to you guys. Severance is a very unique concept and story that you will love.

JoeE

Would also recommend Barry, midnight mass, arrested development, the good place

Logan Kerlee

Ohh - I'm right there with ya! If only for the first and fourth season! Those two are my SOLID favorites in that show. If that ever polls on here, IT GETS MY VOTE! xD

Matthew Blackwood

Happened for me on phone, too. Refresh page, click on title of post (TV Poll: Shorter Shows), then it should work?

Jay

Charlie Brooker is one of my favourite people on the planet, so I'm happy Black Mirror is in the lead. Also, the first 2 seasons both comprise of 3 stand-alone, 60 minute episodes, so shouldn't take 4-5 weeks.

Matthew Blackwood

The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and Watchmen are all phenomenal shows that are 10 episodes or less and done!

Logan Kerlee

I'd LOVE to watch more of that - but when there's only the one season and no news on a second.. it's mighty annoying to watch such an awesome show only to meet an unsatisfactory end.

micah

ANDOR PLEWASEEEEEEEE

Sam

Really was a shock to see Severance with such few votes. Such an amazing season that Simone and George would both love imo.

Garrett Mazzuca

A lot of good shows here. I lean towards Andor only because it's the best Star Wars has been since Empire imo.

Jpsynergy

Lot of good choices. Andor is my favorite Star Wars Thing ever produced.

Dan Holmes

You should do It's Always Sunny for the next Long Show pls thx bai

Dan Holmes

FREAKS AND GEEKS should be added to your short shows!!!

Tippis

Missing from the list: Generation Kill — 7 episodes of pure cynical goodness with tons of supplemental material to explain everything that makes you want to tear your hair out in the series. Also, not short, but shortER(ish) is the now-resurging Deadwood — 3x12 episodes where there's not a lot of need to immediately jump into the next season (if at all).

jeendus

please dont tell me theyre taking a break from Breaking bad again after season 4 is done

JakeyShakeyBakeyBoy

Severance is amazing and personally can’t wait til season 2. Andor is the best Star Wars show so far and also highly worth the watch

Troy Ross

A random show that I think you both would enjoy is The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr, with Bruce Campbell. Super fun super campy scifi western...

Manuel Phelouzat

Just finished Blue Eye Samurai, I'd love to see your reactions for it. If you don't do it for the channel, be sure to check it out in your spare time, it's great. I'll be happy if Queen's gambit or Andor can be done also.

DinChild

Severance doesn't get NEARLY enough love.

Jon Burrows

I voted for severance as it is possibly my favourite show for the last few years. Only other I have seen on the list are Andor which was amazing and Queens Gambit which I enjoyed as well.

CD

Just goes to show. I'm crushed, that both The Bear and Severance (maybe it would be fairing better, if it was spelled correctly...lol)...are trailing in this poll. Black Mirror, I get. While I've yet to watch it...and maybe this will be my catalyst...I am, of course, familiar with its (and Stranger Things) popularity. But Queen's Gambit...and Andor?? Afraid they're skewing, much younger than myself.

Sumner Hayes

Every single one of these shows is good, but Simone in particular would love the Queen's Gambit.

W T

wdym, both appeal massively to a diverse demographic, we're talking about Chess and Star Wars here - and great "adaptations" on top

Tippis

…also, more as an add-on since it's hard to decide whether it's big or small with its release structure: The Thick of It. 2 seasons of 3x30 minutes, 1 inter-season/pseudo-season of 3x15–60 minutes, 1 season of 8x30 minutes, and 1 season of 7x30–60 minutes. Because consistency is for the feeble. 😁

J. Valentine

How is The bear not winning this??? that's insane. Andor makes a lot of sense but the bear is really short and the episodes go by quick

Wrencher86

Andor. Andor. Andor. Andor. Did I mention Andor? Best piece of Star Wars media since Empire or Rogue One.

Wrencher86

I'm also currently watching Shogun and it's top tier. Highly recommended for the channel or just in your free time.

Kelly Pickard

Throwing in for future consideration: Barry, on HBO. Half hour episodes, short seasons, four seasons in total. Very digestible, and a bizarre, compelling blend of drama, comedy, and violence.

Corabal

This will likely go the same way as Derry Girls but add Inside No 9 to a future tv poll, its anthology, each season is 6x30 self contained episodes

Kae

I'd love for Severance to win. Also hoping The Haunting of Hill House or Beef is on the list next time.

Jonas Buckner

How the heck is Severance so slow in this poll?

Jacob King

Queen’s Gambit is a Cold War period drama. It doesn’t require any prior knowledge but if you know about Bobby Fischer and/or really dig mid century fashion and architecture you’ll get more out of it than anyone born this century. It’s visually stunning, Mexico City, Paris, Moscow, Cincinnati, truly a masterpiece of television.

Justin Leone

Andor isn't just "good, for Star Wars". It's one of the most powerfully written and acted shows ever produced. Right up there, imo, with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Even if it doesn't win this poll, I hope you'll consider it.

Dee

I'm assuming it's because it's an apple show. I don't have it and gave up on my pirate life., but am interested in the show.

Quigonjim25

Andor is excellent, mate. I have Star Wars fatigue but gave Andor a go and was pleasantly surprised!

China Andronicus

Queen’s Gambit is a wonderful show. I know a lot of people like the new Shogun but nothing will match the original and the performances of Toshiro Mifune, Richard Chamberlain, Yoko Shimada, John Rhys Davies, Yuki Meguro…I could go on. Brilliant cast on a brilliant show. Highly recommend you watch it sometime.

Wuju

Needs to be on this list (such a great show) Shogun- 10 episode run (about an hour each) Historical Drama The Good Place 4 Seasons (30 min each) Comedy Better Off Ted 2 Seasons (30 min each) Comedy, episodic vs. a story arc type of show though For longer run series, Community (6 seasons) 30 min each Comedy, episodic vs. a story arc type of show though

Ricardo Alanis

George and Simone, if you do end up reacting to Black Mirror (and I hope you do!), be sure to keep rolling the end credits. Not every episode has mid/post credits scenes but some do including Ep. 1, which adds to the story.

shaneth138

Please do Queens Gambit. Black Mirror sucks come on people.

shaneth138

Unfortunately it's going to be the incredibly dull and depressing Black Mirror 🤦🏻‍♂️

shaneth138

It's dull and depressing. The thought provoking stuff gets old quick. It's like a meh Twilight Zone. Every other show on the list is better.

Sir Dongle

Great choices with Shogun and The Good Place. Would also love to add My Name is Earl, super underrated but incredible show

Jon Hoover

Besides the fact you can't read, Monk would bring their channel to a screeching hault.

Sir Dongle

I would love to see them react to the BBC show Extras

3dbadboy1

Andor ... they don't know what they're missing :)

3dbadboy1

Are you bringing in only one of these?

shaneth138

Disagree. It's dull Twilight Zone. A few good episodes here and there, but most of it is a chore to get through. Even the thought provoking stuff is just surface level half baked concepts due to every episode being one contained short story. 10% of it is great. 90% of it is like going to a film student short film festival.

shaneth138

Queens Gambit is awesome. Pretty much any demographic can highly enjoy it.

Travis H

It’s disappointing that Blue Eye Samurai isn’t doing well. It’s a really good show and George and Simone specifically stated that was one they wanted to watch. I’m also voting for The Bear and Andor. I completely turned on Star Wars after Rise of Skywalker and thought I was just done with the series, but I kept hearing really positive word of mouth from people I trusted and gave it a shot. I now think it is the best thing Star Wars has ever put out.

Naijeru

It’s good but starts poorly. The first two episodes are the WORST TV I have ever seen but after that it gets a lot better.

Dan Holmes

I take back what i said earlier, you should watch one season of It's always sunny in between every show change, like pepper it into your rotation for the next 5 years :)

Dustin Duvall

I've seen all the shows here and that first season is the the best season of any if these in my opinion. And season 2 would probably be out after the first season of whatever show they start after breaking bad

HeyHeyJK

BM doesn’t suck but there are like 6 seasons, plus Queens Gambit is one of the best 1 season shows ever. Just fantastic.

Joits

Hopefully One Piece is a show they react to at some point.

Silas Callison

Actually Sherlock is a good short series

John

It's a tremendous show, and along with the Wire, it changed the way I think about the world

George Amberson

Would have loved to see Watchmen and The Leftovers on the poll, but there are some really good options on there.

Michael Johnson

Andor may be the best written and acted Star Wars property. It's really darn good.

Young Blood Priest

Beef didn’t make the cut. ☹️ It fits all the criteria too. Oh well. Andor is great also, so my fingers are crossed that it will make a miraculous come back and win the poll.

Juan Longoria

It took me a long time to get on the train but I do believe The Bear is the best show on TV...but that's just my opinion. Watched both seasons in two days.

zaxzumu

I'd strongly suggest Shrinking. It's written by Brett Goldstein (one of the writers for Ted Lasso and the actor who plays Roy Kent) and stars Jason Segel as a therapist on the verge of his own breakdown, and also stars THE Harrison Ford as Segel's boss and mentor.

RLYtoxic

I hope Ash vs Evil Dead makes it to a poll. I'm about ready to rewatch it again.

Daniel Bjork

Some good choices here! The Bear might just be the best show on television right now, full stop. Severance is a favorite of mine and doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves. And Black Mirror, of course, is awesome, especially those first 2-3 seasons which are full of twilight zone-esque classics.

Jordan Kenyon

I actually think that they’d really like the live action One Piece!! Only 8 episodes and it condenses the first 40 some episodes extremely well! I’d definitely say to it give it a shot!

Cameron Cross

It's probably not going to win but Andor would be amazing. With how much George loves competent people doing competent things, Simone would probably need to call for several "hand checks" for him through season 1 :) There are other really good shows on this list but I'm pulling for Andor too hard to vote for them (especially The Bear and Severance).

Chris H.

Yeah, Queen's Gambit feels so much like a Simone show that I'm a little surprised she hasn't seen it already!

Cameron Cross

Great list. I loved The Good Place! It had one of my favorite endings ever :)

Cameron Cross

Severance is great and it be a really good one for them to react to as well. Can't lie though, I'm all in for Andor...sorry

Cameron Cross

Andor is like Blade Runner set in the Star Wars world. Outside of x-rated stuff, it's as far from a show aimed at younger people as I can think of, which is why it didn't get much attention on Disney+ I do get your frustration about The Bear and severance though. I loved those shows as well.

Cameron Cross

Great list! I completely agree with all but the "new" stuff from Arrested Development :)

Tay Schumaker

Black Mirror winning is interesting, I don’t think I’ve seen an episode where I didn’t need a day or two to process before moving to the next episode. I can’t imagine trying to binge it

ScotchBeard78

Please consider doing HBO's "Six Feet Under" in the future. 5 seasons, really darkly funny and raw and emotional too. One of the best TV shows ever.

Cameron Cross

It's pretty great. I was completely done with Star Wars and only watched it grudgingly because of trusted recommendations. It has a slower pace for sure but all of that is payed off well. I loved it...actually just realized I'm writing this in an Andor shirt :)

CD

Yeah; perhaps I didn’t flesh my comment out. Andor…I don’t perceive as my cuppa, as…I’m not much for “Sci-Fi” (yet love Severance. More so the Stars…be it Wars or Trek); coupled with I’m at an age, where anything outside of the Holy Trinity is sacrilege. But I’m actually intrigued (now that I think of it), by Queen’s Gambit. Chess prodigy, struggling with addiction!? As for The Bear; would have loved G&Ss take…but some others have tackled it. And Severance might be a hard react. I’ve seen reactors…with fairly linear shows…be like WTF is happening? Maybe people have attempted it…and when they went to the edit, it was them silent…jaw on floor, for 20 minutes.

Michele

Fleabag!

sarCC

Huh. I really like Queen's Gambit and Andor, but I was hoping the in-between show would be a comedy. [shrug emoticon]

Jeff I.

Midnight Mass would be a little dream come true to see here.

Dioskur

We will likely never see it, I suggested it several times allready and they never put it on any poll. They fear the puppets :) Remember how they hated Team America? Puppets cant be good

Dazzler & Em

A couple of recommendations, Book of bobba fett(just for mando episodes), mando season 3, Silo(only one season at the moment, From(horror TV show) and Fallout.

Dazzler & Em

And Ash V Evil Dead🤣🤣

Alex Ch

Freaks And Geeks is one season, 18 episodes of 24 minutes each. It’s also the Rosetta Stone for the comedies like Superbad/40 Year Old Virgin/Bridesmaids/Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Stewart Denew

I'd throw in a couple of suggestions of UK TV too as they tend to be shorter & they can be a lot of fun.

Simon Pegged Me

Although he's produced some outstanding television, Extras is the best thing Ricky Gervais has ever done, and it isn't close.

Simon Pegged Me

I have three small show recommendations for a future poll: 1. Deadwood 2. Deadwood 3. Deadwood

SlaverStudios

You guys should watch Veronica Mars as your next big show. Not kidding, it's a masterpiece (just feel free to skip the soft reboot they tried).

Jay

I love BB, but watching S4 & 5 back- to-back would take 4 months (29 episodes, if im not mistaken). I can understand them breaking it up.

Justin James

I was under the impression you guys wanted a light show to watch between heavier shows like Breaking Bad... 😂

Taylor Hunter

Movie suggestion: Dog Soldiers

Taylor Hunter

Three part miniseries that I highly recommend: HATFIELDS AND MCCOYS

Dirge Girl

Cabinet of Curiosities (2022), Guillermo del Toro... - or - Love, Death, + Robots (2019), David Fincher and Tim Miller... ... each are anthology series... episodes have guest directors.

MasterElodin

It would definitely be good to only do 1 at a time or at least have someone put together a list of heavy/deep episodes to watch first and lighter ones to watch after.

MasterElodin

Can't believe I never thought of suggesting this. Would love to see them react to it

MasterElodin

Although I guess Sherlock episodes are so long that they might as well weave it into their movie schedule

Shibby

Andor is excellent. Another good show is Shogun which is quite new.

G P

Short Seasons: Fawlty Towers Oz

Aaron Stinson

Y’all need to watch Ash vs. Evil Dead. It’s only 3 seasons.

NareikAC

Come on black mirror you can do it!!!!

16gaborp

Y’all should watch all of these honestly, they’re all amazing lol

Ginger

This won't happen but I'd love to see you watch "Dark". :)

Nat Num

Please consider the works of Mike Flanagan such as Haunting of Hill House, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Midnight Mass. I assure you, you'll definitely enjoy them.

Jesse Pollack

Y'all should watch The Good Place. It's great

Renee MeowMeow Beans

Better Off Ted is such a delight - and it would be fun to see Simone and George watch Andrea Anders in a show where she gets to show off her comic chops. 🙂

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I love Pushing Daisies - so freaking charming. I think Simone would love it. Also, Wonderfalls along with that.

Renee MeowMeow Beans

I'm excited to see the new adaptation of Shogun, but the original was very formative. Well, Richard Chamberlain was very formative. 😆

China Andronicus

That’s one point my sister will not start harping on, how the new Blackthorn has absolutely no game in comparison to Chamberlain. 😂 It’s funny because it’s also the one thing the reviews keep stating, that the actor is very wishy-washy and really provides no reasoning for Toranaga to want him around. James Clavell was my dad’s second favorite author after Graham Greene (brilliant man) and he showed me this yearly since I was about ten. It’s a huge favorite. I’m sure the new one is great but I can’t imagine it measuring up.

Vonlinchen

"Barry" a great short season black comedy/drama. (4 Seasons) "Fargo" a great short season crime drama. (Each season's independent) "Rome" an excellent short season historical drama. (2 Seasons)

Dragonhunter

They mentioned in the first Q&A they definitely wanna see it, was surprised not seeing it here, maybe they consider it a big show because of the 4 seasons.

Renee MeowMeow Beans

Another low key great show that disappeared was Lodge 49 - I think Simone and George would enjoy that one as well. 🙂

Jay

Is the winner of this coming right after S4 of Breaking Bad, or are you going straight to S5?

Ricardo Alanis

I’d assume they would watch one ep at a time at least for posting but maybe record 1-2 at a time but they definitely require time to process/digest.

Tay Schumaker

It doesn’t really fit with their normal release schedule, but yeah a few Black Mirror episodes fucked me ho for a few days. Binging it would overload my brain

Ludovic Ligot

Come on people, do you really think Black Mirror would be fun just after Breaking Bad ? George and Simone deserve something lighter, like Queens Gambit…

Martin

Not a bad choice in this group. I’d be perfectly content with any of these.

The Maestro

could you please watch some of the X-Men cartoons at some point? All of them are pretty good.

Meth Damon (edited)

I just watched the first episode of black mirror.. so fucked up

Khan1001

Absolutely!, Queens Gambit would be a much more satisfying watch and both S&G would love it! they can watch Black Mirror another time, these polls can be so frustrating sometimes! Arrrrgh!

Jay

I love that Charlie Brooker wrote that episode before those stories about Cameron's University days came out 😂😂

E. D.

I don‘t know what Cameron did during university, I assume something not nice

James Falato

"Queen's Gambit" Will Surprise You How Well the Story Unfolds...

REDR58

I’m going to make a possibly controversial statement that overall The Book of Boba Fett is more enjoyable to me than Andor. Yes Andor is well-acted, has great cinematography and looks amazing but there is just so much standing (or sitting…how long does that whole thing with the cereal go on for?) around resulting in nothing. So much time is wasted with not enough happening. It’s half a good show. But Obi-Wan, sweet merciful crap. I can’t decide if Picard Seasons 1 and 2 or Obi-Wan are some of the worst television I’ve ever watched. I go back and forth silently raging when it comes up. What a dumpster fire those shows are.

REDR58

Here you go: https://www.goldderby.com/article/2024/ben-stiller-severance-season-2-timeline/

REDR58

I really rather they react to things that are new to the both of them.

Sascha Walsemann

Just google "david cameron university", so George and Simone don't get spoiled, but let's just say the stuff shown in the episode is not that far from reality...

Harry Fieldson

It's not going to get as many votes because it was on Apple TV but severance is genuinely the best TV show I've ever watched

Jonathan B.

The first two seasons of Black Mirror are excellent. It’s the later Netflix/American ones that dumbed too much down.

crazydave

You should react to Parasite

Amar

I think George has seen it, he said so on a video.

Tim Boxall

Black Books for some absolutely cracking British comedy. 3 short seasons, and every single episode is a gem.

Chase Lonnergan

Agreed! I consistently rewatch Black Books. Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey are brilliant in it.

Tim Boxall

"You have very dusty cups...". Kevin Eldon guesting in it was comedy perfection

Odd Thomas

A good short-run series is Sharp Objects with Amy Adams. It's like 7 eps.

Jay

Black Books, Father Ted, Alan Partridge, The Inbetweeners, Peep Show...... so many great English/Irish sitcoms where for the most part, seasons are 6 half hour episodes. I'd love for G&S to sample any of these gems. Sadly, I think any of these shows would score worse on a poll than Derry Girls is here. I thought DG might have a chance because it's recent but clearly not, so I'd be amazed if they ever watch the likes of Black Books:(

Jeff I.

Yeah, that's a great miniseries, but it's so under the radar that it would never win a poll or anything. One of the few shows that literally made my jaw drop and freak out a bit because of a plot twist.

Mike C

IF you need more choices for a future "short shows" list, there is "Pushing Daisies" which had 2 seasons, and "Wonderfalls" which had a single season.

Mike C

I just posted these two shows without checking the scrollback. Both those shows feel right up Simone's alley.

Jay

In the last few weeks we've had Eurotrip, The Wizard of Oz, Crocodile Dundee, Clue, Monsters Inc, Tremors 2 and The Sandlot is coming up next week. G & S watch plenty of "lighter" material.

HeyHeyJK

Yeah, that first episode turned a lot of people off from watching the rest of the series, but it seems more and more relevant as time goes on.

Jay

Or......... S&G will love Black Mirror and they can watch Queens Gambit another time.

HeyHeyJK

My dream 1 season show for them to react to is "The Haunting of Hill House" but maybe that can be an option closer to spooky season? A masterpiece is what that show is. I've never been so scared and then cried so much in a horror movie/series, ever.

Ludovic Ligot

You're right about the movies they watch, but we're talking about shows. Black Mirror is darker than Breaking Bad (in general), that's the problem I see here... 🫤

Jake Urick

Omg Andor please!!!!

Jay

I'd say G & S had a pretty good idea what all these shows are about when they put the list together. If they were realy desperate for a break from darker material, I'm sure they would have left out shows like Black Mirror and Severance. Cinebinge polls rarely go the way I want (I usually have the opposite complaint to yours - "too much light, not enough dark"😂), so I'm over the moon Black Mirror's probably winning this. Yes, it's really dark but it's also got Charlie Brooker's sick sense of humour and I reckon G&S will love it. I don't always watch the full outros but I'll definitely be watching them for Black Mirror. It will throw up some great discussions.

Tim Boxall

Don't think I've ever seen anyone reacting to Black Books, and tbh, don't think I ever will! Peep Show would be great, too many seasons though. Spaced would also be a cracker, but it might be a bit too geek (or maybe not!)

Jay

Yeah it's great. I see plenty of people recommending it and Flanagan's other shows, although I don't think the likes of Midnight Mass and House of Usher, good as they are, come close to Hill House.

Jeff I.

House of Usher was very mediocre, but I really liked Midnight Mass as much as Hill House.

Jay

I've watched Brad and Lucy's reactions to Father Ted and Black Books. They have the full show, not just highlights on YT. They don't have all Black Books episodes, but most of them. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLug5SerrX4IhuP4NHDB3bmji9rrVnftL0

Sean Hennessy

Additional ones to consider is The Good place, just outside your numbers. It had 4 seasons at 12-13 episodes each, but all are 30 min each. Sherlock, the recent BBC version with Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. 4 seasons as well, but only 3 90 min episodes each season.

Odd Thomas

The Haunting of Hill House for sure - no need to wait until Halloween for horror

Dirge Girl

Delicious in Dungeon (2024) - Netflix Anime - D&Desque Dungeon Crawl / Cooking Show... it's like it was made for this channel.

William Burnham

Black Mirror is overrated Inside No 9 is far,far better 😀😀😀😀😀

HeyHeyJK

Yeah, Midnight Mass would be my 2nd favorite, then Bly Manor then House of Usher but, you're right in that none of them pack as much of an emotional punch as HoHH.

HeyHeyJK

I've still got to watch Inside No. 9. Have loved those guys since "League of Gentlemen" which is one of my favorite British shows of all time.

HeyHeyJK

Barry is just so, so great. G&S would just love it. Another reaction channel is reacting to it now and it just makes me sad that it's not Cinebinge. Bill Hader really proved himself to be a fantastic writer/director/actor on that show and can't wait to see what he has coming up, whenever that may be.

HeyHeyJK

Totally agree. As much as I like "Black Mirror" - some episodes more than others, of course - I will always be grateful for it leading me to what is now one of my favorite series of all time that no one will ever react to. A few years ago, one episode of BM made me feel so dirty and yucky down to my soul that I had to find a lighter show to try and get it out of my head. In searching around I saw a thumbnail for a series I had never heard of called "Detectorists" with Mackenzie Crook, who played Gareth in the BBC original run of "The Office" (still the better version, IMHO), and was one of the zombie pirates in the first few "Pirates of the Caribbean" films. Turns out, Mackenzie wrote, directed, and starred in every episode, along with the brilliant character actor, Toby Jones and it is such a gentle, but wonderful, comedy and I fell in love with it hard. So, thanks S3E3 of BM for being so disturbing, I guess?

William Burnham

Anyone in the UK can find Inside No 9 on iplayer Whereas Black Mirror concentrates on technological stories, Inside No 9 is much broader in scope, comedic and much better written (Pemberton and Shearsmith) Note they also did Psychoville, which is also excellent 😄😄😄😄😄😄😃

Matthew Blackwood

I know people have Black Mirror eps they love, but it isn’t suited to their binge model for shorter shows. Watching 2 episodes in a row you get severely diminishing returns.

romeo-a-go-goat

I was really hoping Hazbin Hotel would be on this poll :( I really hope you guys include it in the next one, because its a FANTASTIC show, and pretty short too.

Michael LaPorte

That's a good point. Each episode should be taken on its own and given at least a day to digest. However, it's a fantastic anthology and I think it'd be a really cool watch (plus it'd give me an excuse to rewatch it).

Michael LaPorte

Other shows for your future consideration: Fargo: a rather fantastic spiritual successor to the Cohen Brothers' film where each season is self-contained; The Crown: I know a dramatized biopic about the English royal family might sound dull, but it's really well made and acted, and doing something rather daring and unusual, in being a biopic of contemporary figures made you'd assume largely without their approval; The Haunting of Hill House: one of the most smartly-written horror serials I've ever seen; I think Mike Flanagan, along with Ari Aster and Robert Eggers, is really at the forefront of the horror renaissance.

Ph4ZeD

I will keep plugging away for The Pacific, hopefully one day it will get watched

Brad Lowry

IMHO, I think that the Women's angle should give some cred to Queens Gambit during (still) Women's Month

FischerMax98

I'd like to see a reaction to "Reacher". Only 2 seasons. Better than the movie. Not a lot of reactions to it. Very good show with good characters.

DevoLamar

Severance is so underrated it’s wild

Ludovic Ligot

I think we need at least 60 more people voting for Queens Gambit… just… RIGHT NOW !! 😅

RipTheRipper

New to the party...but the top 2 vote getters were my top 2 choices even if in reverse order. Hopefully QG will get a future watch...ATJ is so good as she is in everything

SpankTheMonk

For your next big poll, if you may humbly accept a suggestion and either one of you have not seen it - Farscape. I understand that The Expanse didn’t work for you, so perhaps Farscape could. With it you get science fiction with a touch a the fantastic, stir some great practical work by the Jim Henson company, stories that are pretty original, and a dash of lighter hearted Star Wars approach. Cheers

Angzarr

For future VERY short series... Police Squad! (1 season of 6 episodes -- the TV show that spawned The Naked Gun) Fawlty Towers (2 seasons of 6 episodes each) - a classic! Middle-length: What We Do In The Shadows (5 seasons of 10 episodes each) - A mockumentary about vampires

VinnyAhhh

I'd honestly be happy with any of these options (a rare poll where I've seen every option) but I do have preferences which has gotten me thinking I'd be curious what the results would look like with ranked choice voting. I'm not asking you to change to that by any means but I'm still curious. My guess is it would improve the performance of things like Severance & Blue Eye Samurai because while they have a smaller fanbase the folks who have seen them usually stronger fans of the works. With all that being said I am surprised how few votes went to Blue Eye Samurai and I feel bad for George because IIRC he is really excited to see it.

Geoff Walsh

Can I throw Twin Peaks into a future poll! My favourite show of all time!

Nonimal

I would absolutely love it if you guys watched The OA! Only two seasons (unfortunately) with 8 eps per season.

Ricardo Alanis

Will these reactions be posted in between seasons of Breaking Bad or after the last season of Breaking Bad posts?

Hunterrim

I love love Twin Peaks but its pretty obscure, and the middle of season 2 is kind of a drag.

Geoff Walsh

Maybe so, but the season 2 finale is one of the greatest episodes of television ever. Topped only (for me anyway) by episode 8 of season 3!

Jon

thank God, Black Mirror win :) and not this overrated Queen Gambit I mean... it's an ok show, I guess... but it took a huge exposure, I still don't know why 🤷🏻

Would The Animatrix count?

I'd like to suggest another Tom Hanks/HBO mini series. Much as he produced "Band of Brothers" after starring in "Saving Private Ryan", after starring in "Apollo 13", Hanks produced "From the Earth to the Moon". about the space race in the 1960's.

Be good see an anthology type series.. “love deaths and robots” is another one worth your time

I'm not going through all the other comments to see if it's already been suggested, but "Monty Python's Flying Circus" is my recommendation (and my favorite show). 3 seasons of 13 30 minute episodes, and you probably don't have to watch season 4 (6 episodes, but really I only like episode 2, and a member of the troupe is gone).

Fawlty Towers would be a good comedy series to watch between seasons of a serious show. Two seasons, only 6 episodes each season. It's always in the top 5 of the best British comedies of all time.

Alex Laime

Would love to see Queens Gambit. Great show and a great character.

I would love to do a re-watch of Twin Peaks! I'm also curious how it would do on a poll.

RipTheRipper

hopefully they will do it soon as well since it was such a close vote anyways...it is superb

A couple of recommendations for short series: The Night Manager with Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman in a more realistic than James Bond international undercover agent story. 6 hour long episodes. Taboo with Tom Hardy in a really gritty period drama with some spooky supernatural elements. 8 hour long episodes.
