Simon Pegged Me

This is my favorite George thumbnail to date. Also, please react to the OG Coen Brothers comedy, Raising Arizona.

would you call this flick a lot of great actors, doing a lot of stupid stuff?

JoeNotCharles

JK Simmons was SO GOOD in this, I forgot he only had two scenes.

This is one of Brad Pitt’s best (or my favorite) performances. He plays clueless idiot so well and that the face he gives right before he gets shot is iconic. The Coens are masters at getting great actors play comedic idiots. As well as adding morbidly humorous violence.

Anthony Harris

Such a great movie. Brad Pitt character was hilarious and so cheesy

Michael

God I love this underrated film.

tundra

The "diaper acquisition" scene is an all time classic.

Meth Damon

Sry, you don‘t know the definition of "underrated", like 90% of ppl who use that word.

Ginger

Having to edit the Fucks out of a Coen Brs. movie is not an enviable task. :D

Ryan Skinner

This movie is such an incredible hidden gem, so glad you guys watched. It'd been so long since I've seen it, god it's so fucking funny. Cheers!

MPH

Brad Pitt wasn't murdered. Dr. Dobak was.

Jobbe Smit

My most vivid memory of this movie after the chair is my dad taking me to the theater to see this and then falling asleep snoring loudly. How to embarrass your kids 101.

Thirty Year Old Mulberry Field

I feel the same, I know it’s a bit of a meme to say Brad Pitt is a character actor trapped in a leading man’s body but there’s some truth to it.

Meth Damon

I watched this movie years ago but I totally forgot the dick-chair lol

Michael

Well, when I hear people list their favorite Cohen films, Burn After Reading is lucky to make it in the top 5.

I came into this film with WILDLY out of place expectations. Based on the trailer I thought it was going to be a serious (or serious-ish) spy film. it all came from that shot of Cox walking with the hatchet in his bathrobe, which I thought was the film saying "These characters are so accustomed to violence that they don't even need to get dressed first". Boy did I have that pegged wrong.

Happy Hanukkah

1:19 "Burn After Reading" is about secrets? No! It's about written insults. :-P Let's be honest, y'all: who among us would not react as George Clooney did to Brad Pitt's face? Even in cold blood. No? Just me? Speaking of George Clooney in a Coen Brothers movie, I suppose you now have no choice but to watch their collaboration that came between this one and Oh Brother: Intolerable Cruelty (2003).

As a coda to the final scene, Dwight's strategy/advice from The Office: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2eZC40GdnI

Tilda Swinton plays an amazing Vampire with Tom Hiddleson in Only lovers left alive. One of the best vampire movies I've seen in a while.

G&S are the best! They got to this Sooo quick…after it’s 2nd place showing. Bit of a rocky start (for them); wasn’t sure they were digging it. But it is black…and dry. They warmed up; and laughed and laughed. Perhaps my favorite thumbnail!

This is a great DC movie. The “What do you do” cocktail party, ugh. My fav Cohen movie but dunno if I’ve seen even half of them.
