This is not the post you were hoping for, I'm sorry :-(

I'm not writing to publish a hotfix for the official 2.0 update that broke the R.E.A.L. VR mod for Cyberpunk 2077, but to warn you that such a fix will probably take me a long time.

I have 42 points where my VR framework code connects to the game. 33 out of 42 have been completely broken by the update, and even the remaining 9 no longer work as they should.

So I'm afraid that fixing the game will likely be almost as time-intensive as modding a completely new title. I will try, because CP2077 is a good game that this huge update should make even better, but as usual I can give no guarantees of success until the release is ready.

In the meantime, you can follow the official instructions to revert to version 1.63, or (perish the thought) you can play flat.

Sorry for the disappointing announcement :-(

I will keep you posted in case I manage to make a breakthrough.

I had notification on my pc for an update on Cyberpunk.. I understood directly your VR mod will be broken.. But you can try to make a VR mod for…….PHANTOM LIBERTY 🤞

I followed the instructions for downloading the legacy version of CP and everything shows up in the headset except for the RealVR menu. From my understanding, I'm supposed to be able to bring it up by pressing both triggers on my xbox remote but nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Anonymous

The only thing differently I'm following is the game needs to be paused first, before using the triggers. Could that be it?

Well, just joined for Cyberpunk, but, looking at the list of titles and the work that goes into this, no way I'm refunding. Keep it up, hope 2077 works out but however long it takes, this is awesome work

I, like many here, subscribed just to be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 with this wonderful mod. What was my surprise that it stopped working with the release of the new version. I decided to wait a while, but since there was no news, I would like a refund. How can I do this?

So I got everything working except I don't know how to minimize the screen to help with performance. I found the REPLACE file with an option for "WindowedBorderless":0 but don't know what to change this to or if I need to change this to minimize the screen.

Brandon(Post Maester)

You don't want to minimize the screen, you want it to be the top active screen or it might cause issues and just not respond to input. It won't save you performance to minimize it. I get the same exact performance using my monitor vs just the headset with headless ghost.

Hey Luke thanks for the great cyberpunk 2.0 mod, I'm having a blast. One question I have is, even on low settings and with chromatic abberation, motion blur, dlss, everything off, including ray tracing off. I notice there is a pixel shimmering around all objects in the game. It's not the same effect as the AFR produces, but seems like it's the actual game itself. I have tried disabling screen space reflections, all settings off and it's still there. The only thing that mitigates it is increasing the render scale to like 4000x4000 (4090 here) but even then it's still there. Any ideas of how to get rid of it? It's very noticeable when looking at trees, it's like a force field bubble of pixels shimmering around them but it doesn't seem like aliasing either. It's almost like they chose this aesthetic and there's no setting to disable it. Thanks!

hello, I am trying to find a way to switch off head aiming with a key bind, is there a way?

Brandon(Post Maester)

No, head based aiming is a core part of the mod. Although awkward if you are used to using a mouse for aiming it becomes pretty comfortable/natural after using it for a while.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hey karl, sorry for missing this! This is a conflict between TAA and AER and the best way to mitigate it is higher resolution as well as changing the TAA implementation by using DLSS Quality. Different versions of DLSS will also have different levels of this happening but 3.5 or 3.5.10 seem to be pretty decent. Also be carefull how much your are sharpening things as this will also make it more apparent.

Cyberpunk 2077- The Luke Ross GTA5 mod seems to be more, bare bones. I like what your doing. But for ppl such as I, that have an old i7 4790K/ 1070 Ti, Nividia/ INTEL only, we need the basic version. Like Vorp ex , there are a lot of options. And I tend to drowned in them. Your GTA5 mod is my favorite work of yours. When I play that mod, I never have to worry about it working. Always 100% for me. That being said, not only do I need a better computer, but also that, my headset, Q2, is a turd. So, yes, there are many factors for all games. Sorry that, the big corporations do nothing for Ross, or us, then just, simply, slow us down. There are many factors involved.

Brandon(Post Maester)

It is essentially just Legacy AER without many options. It is an older game now so it may just run better on older hardware also. A 1070 is pretty outdated at this point but man GPUs are so freaking expensive now :( I thought it was ridiculous when I bought a 3080ti and then came the 4090! I felt angry and sick when I ordered it but man was it worth it for PCVR. I mean I could have bought so much other gaming stuff for just the cost of my GPU. I'm not a violent person but I would totally kick Jenson in the nuts if I had the chance.

This vr mod is literally amazing. I have it the best looking with such ease than all the mods. With a 4090 i feel like 80fps on the quest 3 is a good setting. Im steady a little just above 60fps. 2 questions, does this work with the dlc and is it supposed to only be 30fps with the cjtt scenes i dont know what to adjust. I have it at like 21 pixels per degree running it at 1/2. I cant go any higher on the ppd wont be over 60 fps then. Is it supposed to just be like that? Otherwise this is absolutely perfect lol

Brandon(Post Maester)

1/2 is pretty hard to run and keep a good fps because of the extra overhead. That is why Luke started defaulting to 1/3 I think. If you are getting 60 fps I'd actually try lowering the headset down to 72 HZ. Your GPU is generating extra frames to make the gameplay feel smoother is you are using AER2 (1/2, 1/3) so it will create more work and therefore have extra overhead compared to Legacy. I am one of those unfortunate graphics snobs so I usually just stick with Legacy so I can crank up the resolution more. I am used to VR jank though so stuff like motion jitter doesn't really bother me unless it is really bad. I try to keep around 90fps on Legacy so it is not really jittery.
