Hi folks! Sorry that it took me a few days to release this update.

Release 10.3.4, attached at the end, fixes a couple of problems with Far Cry 6 (see the main post for instructions on how to get the game running in VR):

  • the gesture that activates the mod overlay (pressing both thumbsticks on the gamepad) will no longer erroneously trigger during gameplay, but it will behave as usual with my mods, i.e., it will only be detected when the game is paused in the menus;
  • the mod overlay will resize properly now, reacting automatically to resolution changes in such a way as to preserve legibility.

The overlay could still be resized manually in the previous release, but it was a bit of a nuisance.

Just to remind you of how it's done: the mod overlay is normally docked on the right side of the screen. To resize it or move it around, first you need to undock it, which is done by dragging with your left mouse button over the small downward arrow in the top left corner of the overlay. Once the overlay is undocked, you can resize it like a normal window (hovering the mouse close to the borders will change the cursor to a resizing tool).

Also, the font size can be changed freely from the "Overlay" tab, or simply by using Ctrl+Scrollwheel over an empty area of any tab.

Far Cry 6 comes ALIVE With This MIND-BLOWING New R.E.A.L. VR Mod - Ian's VR Corner

The #FarCry series has been crying out for a jump to VR for years now and now, all of a sudden, we're getting loads of Far Cry VR mods from amazing modders! The mod does have a few graphical hitches at the moment and the lack of motion controls which are a staple with the R.E.A.L. VR mod, placing your face in the space that is Yara will absolutely take your breath away and you can see Far Cry 6 VR gameplay in action in today's VR Corner! Alrighty! The CP update seems to have broken a lot of things as far as the mod and patches are concerned. The term "nuclear holocaust" was used by Luke, so don't expect a quick patch 😰 Which one of you did not present offerings and prayers to the VR gods!?

I can't say it often enough. R.E.A.L is the future of gaming - already available to those who know. Thanks to Luke! CP2077 was dull for me on flat screen. In VR it's a totally different, amazing game. This guy summed it up perfectly: https://youtu.be/NJa2YBxqu5g?si=mHOQA-TgxOrFAvcJ

i was wondering if anyone else experiences this in far cry where you look one way and its like darker and clear and then look another way and its bright and cant see well, set all of the settings according to lukes recommendations, tried a mod that reduces sun and all that but didnt help

Is there a way to get normal hud while using fsr ?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Not that I know of unfortunately. FSR 1 looks so bad though, have you tried turning down some graphics settings? Can't say that I have tried getting it to work with FSR but I haven't seen anyone post a workaround or anything like that.

Brandon(Post Maester)

It sounds like the conflict between TAA and AER. You can disable TAA or use SMAA. Make sure you are not over sharpening things as well or it will become really apparent. Easy way to tell is if you switch to mono rendering mode it will go away completely.

Hey Luke, thanks for another amazing Mod. I'm having issues however, with all of the game menus not letting me navigate below the very upper section of my screen with I have the Mod enabled. Any ideas as to how I can fix this? Thanks!

Brandon(Post Maester)

Are we talking FC6? Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post the link here please? You have already followed the install instructions as well as setting the ppd and then picking that resolution from the windowed fullscreen options?

Ok when I put the real VR mod into uncharted it said that it don't support the app please what to do

Brandon(Post Maester)

What platform are you playing on? Steam? Is the game version up to date? What version of REAL are you using?

Would anyone know if there is a VR mod for farcry5? The 6th is kinda poopy.

Brandon(Post Maester)

What!? FC6 has Chorizo! I believe Luke still plans on working back through some of the series and was doing so before the great CP expansion. That obviously took priority as it broke the mod completely. He was working on 5 specifically but no promises of course. Always potential issues. For FC5 for instance, they decided to put the focal point of the horizon bellow the horizon which makes things more difficult.

Zooming in and out does not work in Photo mode. Not in 3D and not in Mono. Is there a way to let it work? Because I can't get further in my mission or in the game until I use this function. Or is it possible to uninstall the mod, so I could pass this part in normal flatscreen mode. And after that I could install the mod again.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Unfortunately, zooming doesn't work with binoculars for this one :( You can go into the same game folder where you put the Real files and change dxgi.dll to dxgi_bak.dll to play flat. Just change back to get into VR again.

i have serious texture issues with far cry 6, some texture won't load at all, and everything around me on the ground flashes to black rectangles, it's basically unplayable. quest 3 + rtx4090 tried all api renderer but nothing changes. i'm using ubisoft version, not plus. is a fresh install never played and i'm at the beginning when you land on the island after the boat cutscene. using latest version of luke NVM i trashed shaders all fine

Brandon(Post Maester)

Please refer to the games release post below this post. There are instructions for if this happens. It is shader corruption, and you need to delete the shader cache files.
