Hi guys!
Release 9.3.1, which you can find attached at the end of this post, comes with as much performance improvement as I was able to squeeze from my frame interpolation tech. It's not a lot (about 10% at higher resolutions) but I believe that I'm getting close to the Pareto front, so I don't really want to spend an inordinate amount of development time on this just to shave off, say, another 2-3% or so.
The performance gain may vary of course, depending on your system and the game you're playing, but it should be apparent on all previously supported games (namely Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Grounded, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales).
With this release, I'm also extending the technology to one of the games that was more in need of it: Elden Ring. Fret not, CP2077 will come too ;-)
If you were already using an older version of the mod with Elden Ring, remember to run RealConfig after extracting the updated release! Also, I strongly advise having RealConfig (D)elete your old .ini settings, in order to prevent possible issues due to leftover settings from older versions.
Speaking of Elden Ring: on my system (Core i9-9900K and RTX 4090) I can get a perfectly stable 60 fps at "1/3 rate" using the Ultra preset, up to 3472x3472. The top resolution is out of reach even for the 4090 in Ultra quality.
On the other hand, since Elden Ring is awfully CPU-limited, given that most of its processing happens on a single thread (!), I can't get 90 fps in AER v2 no matter how low I go with the graphics settings, because (on my CPU at least) outdoors areas can never maintain 90 fps. So I made 1/3 rate the default setting, also for the 4 presets in the Quick Menu.
If for some reason you should want to toggle from "1/3 rate" to "1/2 rate" on the fly, for instance because the engine deals with indoors areas much better and you like to play them at 90 fps instead of 60, please remember that the Quick Menu is the easiest and quickest way to switch render modes, either directly or using the 4 presets which are fully customizable.
Hope this will work for you without issues, and stay tuned because more games will be updated soon!!!
