So many game updates these days, it's becoming hard to keep track of them ;-)

As was promised a few months ago, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco (to neither of which I have any affiliation) have reactivated the servers for Dark Souls: Remastered.

That means that it's now possible to play DS:R online/multiplayer. However, the official update to the game client that came out yesterday broke my VR mod.

Release 8.4.0, attached below, fixes the issue and restores VR functionality.

Also, from my initial (very brief) testing, it appears that it's possible to play online while in VR! But...

BEWARE: when you log in, the game explicitly mentions that "players found to be violating the EULA by using cheats, hacks, mods, etc. will have restrictions (permanent or temporary) placed on their online profiles/accounts."

Offline mode, on the other hand, should be as safe as it always was.

If you decide to try your luck and play online, please understand that you're assuming the full risk and responsibility. I added a disclaimer and an explicit request for acknowledgment of the ban risk to RealConfig (the mod installer). While being able to play online in VR would be awesome, I don't want anyone getting banned due to this.

Let me know how it works for you!!!

Hello everyone, I’m currently facing an issue with installing the mod. I’ve played Dark Souls Remastered on Steam for over 70 hours, and I’ve finally decided to try it in VR. However, I get an error message when I run RealConfig.bat. The error message says, “ERROR: The game appears to never have been run. Run the game at least once to create your user profile, then quit it and try installing the mod again. Aborting RealConfig” The message doesn’t make sense to me because I’ve played the game tons of times. Then, I reinstalled the game and the mod but I just ended up receiving the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this issue?

Creo que tienes que poner el renderizado en mono prueba y me dices.

Thanks for posting Elillo! Yes, switching to mono rendering will eliminate the problem but also eliminates stereoscopic 3d or the sense of real depth. The issue is a conflict between TAA and stereoscopic 3d. If you ever use software like Superdepth3d or Vorpx, they commonly have the same issue and games commonly require adjusting settings in the software to fix the shimmering or outlines around objects.
