Today Cyberpunk 2077 was updated to game version 1.61, and that broke my VR mod. Release 8.3.0 fixes the issues introduced by the patch and allows you to play again!
I also added a small option, as requested by some of you, in case you wish to prevent the game HUD from ever becoming headlocked. It's imaginatively called "Allow HUD headlocking" and you can find it in the "CP2077" tab of the mod overlay. Leaving it enabled (the default) will keep your gameplay unchanged. I don't actually recommend turning it off, because while it's true that it will make the peripheral elements of the HUD easier to see, it will also break the crosshair alignment and depth. My preferred solution if you want to improve the HUD visibility during combat is instead to use the "Aiming HUD size" in the main "R.E.A.L. VR" tab to make the user interface smaller, while at the same time keeping the crosshair functional and everything always in your sight.
But it's always good to have more options ;-)
Speaking of things and people that are good, as you can see above, yesterday Beardo Benjo published a beautiful new gameplay video of how amazing Cyberpunk 2077 looks if you can afford (and find in stock) the new NVIDIA beast, a.k.a. RTX 4090. He's having the time of his life! You know the drill: subscribe, drop a like, do whatever you can to support him because he's an awesome guy and a tireless supporter of all things VR.
I'm still trying to find the root cause of the crashes that a few of you have been having with CP2077 when accessing specific portions of the menu system. For some it's the inventory, for others it's the map, or the character creation/modification screen. Until now I've been unable to repro the issue here, but if you can upload a savegame from which you can reliably get a crash (together with instructions on what exactly makes the game flatline for you) I will try to understand what's happening.
Enjoy!!
