I'm sorry for the post flood these days, but I just finished watching the whole video and Ian has really outdone himself this time. I simply had to repost it here!

Almost a full hour of traveling around the Lands Between, giving a close inspection to Torrent's mane, comparing the relative merits of giants' and dragons' behinds, beating bad guys in slow motion after taking forever to approach them, getting wiped out by huge crystal-eyed dragons after staring them in the face (and I mean "in" the face)... all seasoned with Ian's awesome British sense of humor that always has me literally laughing out loud in front of my PC screen.

Hope you'll enjoy this as much as I did! Ian's love for VR is so deep, it blows me away. It's just palpable in everything he says and does. If there were more people like him, I'm sure VR would already be mainstream!

Im the same when watching Ian and his play throughs, i end up crying in laughter. Its just the way he says things sometimes. He and Beardo Benjo have the greatest VR love and videos around.

Hey Luke, have you ever had feedback from game developers/artists who worked on one of the games you've VR-moded? E.g. they enjoy VR a ton and are really excited about it?

Does anyone know how to enable Open XR with Reverb G2 ? Im on WIn11 Pro System with RTX 2080 Super. When I enable in the REAL UI and change renderer to Open XR nothing happens. There is just sound but the mixed reality portal is active and does not disappear.

Oddly enough, absolutely zero feedback of any kind. I'm not sure why. I mean, I'm not famous or anything, so it's quite possible that none of them ever found out about the conversions. But if I were an artist or developer for a big game I would be curious about the mods that come out! Although there is also a factor where if you work too long and too hard on a game, you start hating it and wanting nothing to do with it when you're off the job :-/

Please check that all your settings in the OpenXR tools for WMR are at their defaults, and that you're not on the preview runtime

Thanks for your response. I use the default openXR tool settings. which zip file should i download for vr GTA? im new to this :) i have tried to mod rdr2 and it worked. but have not got GTA to work?

GTA V has not been ported to the new framework yet, but it works if you update Script Hook V manually! Download it from here: https://github.com/LukeRoss00/gta5-real-mod/releases

Hey Angelo: lars was able to make it work in the end by uninstalling both OpenXR and the OpenXR tools for WMR, and then reinstalling OpenXR from the Microsoft Store. No idea why that worked, but you might try it too!

Dear Luke, according to my observation, many players in China know you, and many players want to buy your vrmod. However, due to the limitation of payment method, it is very inconvenient to buy, and many people can only give up. If you can support the wechat or Alipay used by Chinese Mainland, I believe more Chinese people will buy your vrmod. 跟读

Hello, Luke. I just started playing rdr2 yesterday. I encountered two problems. First, every time I open DLSS in the game settings, I flash back. Second, when I open the menu in the game, it will slightly spend a few seconds on the screen. Once, it even spent the whole picture, and I can't see anything. Are there any solutions to these two problems? Thank you!

This might be related to why so many games don't have native VR support, the lack of interest in VR of many people in the studios

That said, if I were a 3D artist, I'd be more interested to work in VR than on a flat screen (I think the Unreal editor supports that). So, in the long term as VR becomes better as a viable working tool, it's likely more professionals will expect a VR mode for the games themselves.

Hey, Luke. I'm curious if you know if it will eventually be possible to use other simple mods in conjunction with yours? I absolutely love the VR implementation (even though I can't handle the alternate eye rendering, so I play in Mono), but find myself missing some general convenience mods like the one that makes the "You Died" screen much shorter.

Thank you Aaron! It should be possible already, just drop the dlls for the extra mods into the game folder. Don't use a mod loader or other solutions that disable the EAC though, as they will probably conflict with my custom launcher

Oh really? That's excellent to hear. I must have misinterpreted the requirements of installation to mean that mods would not be compatible. I'll give it a go! Thanks for getting back to me. Keep on keeping on!

Hey Luke, is it somehow possible to use your mod with the open vr mod to get fsr+nis? Tried to replace your steamvr_api.dll but then nothing worked anymore :D So is there a possible workaround or some way to incorporate that into your .dll file?

Unfortunately this does not work - It can only be used with oculus and openxr, not steam vr. I still have the issue that when using the oculus runtime on pimax, the HUD area has different color tone than the rest of the game, making it not pleasent to play in my opinion. Tried to change to open XR, but couldnt get it running there. SO I have only limited options x) And the openvr mod for steamvr uses a modified api.dll file, which seems to break your mod when i try to use theirs :D

Pimax has no OpenXR implementation that I know of. However I have workarounds in place to use Oculus mode, see https://www.patreon.com/posts/63892259

I tried the vrperfkit mod,seems not to work - checked it with a native vr game, there it seems to work, but in ER mod it shuts down immediately. Seems I have to w8 for fromsoftware to deliver that inside the game itself :/ Regarding the workarounds, it seems not working with pimax + AMD graphics card :S

Ah yes, unfortunately I too read on the Pimax forums that AMD cards have issues :-(

Nevertheless - I checked the vrperfkit mod with HZD and Er now - Here, the dxgi.dll has to be replaced, which disables the vr from your mod :D So in either mod i replace the openvr_api.dll or the the dxgi.dll which both leads to failure x) So I have no idea how the AMD user in your first linked post got it running^^

Any idea if the elden ring ascended mod would conflict with yours? Seems like they both the anti cheat toggler. Though, the ascended mod has you replacing the regulation.bin file. Don't know what that would do. Update: it does work just fine it seems. awesome.

I couldnt get any upscaler to work due to a necessary replacement of some files, which makes the vr mod stop working. So, my "solution" is, to use the CAS sharpener via ReShade, which was downloadable in a previous post to get a better image clarity under decreased resolutions. I am playing on 1920x1920 (i think) with CAS sharpening on 1 and it looks similar to at least 1-2 resolutions higher (highly subjective) with around an average of 60 fps.

Hi, sorry for being late, but after Luke shared his first version of CP2077 VR mod, I emailed CD Projekt Red's customer service, however they completely ignored my email with a description and a link to one of Luke's movies on YT. So, must be some kind of weird policy I guess...
