Friday Rec: Happy Birthday (Patreon)

This week's Friday Rec comes from a blog that has sadly been abandoned but for several months over 2013 was one of my favorite places to check for exciting new transformation stories. My pick for this week is:

"Happy Birthday" by Real Body Swaps 

Feeling like the less desirable friend is a pretty common occurrence - I'm sure we've all felt it at one point or another - and this story perfectly encapsulates the dream outcome of that scenario. I'm sure many of us have wished that we could experience at least a day in our good looking friend's bodies and "Happy Birthday" plays out the first moments of a body swap between two close friends celebrating one of their birthdays.

I enjoy how the switch in the story occurs rather subtly and is triggered by the two friends switching clothes. Using clothes as a trigger for transformations is one of my favorite tropes and it's done perfectly here. I also enjoy that it's a rare story in our genre that focuses on straight characters and keeps them straight, something that I do irregularly on my blog as I'm aware that a good majority of my target audience prefer stories featuring gay characters predominantly.
