Review:

Yes, it's another pixel post.
The very same pixel art that we can't get tired of 🤤

I could probably turn this entire blog into Pixel art exclusive and nobody would complain.
Every high quality art is appreciated, but there's something magical and captivating in well drawn "dot animations".

The sales speak for themselves, as this game, which is Pekogames' first release ever with no significant following - have sold over 22,000 copies within a month and a half!

If you look at the overall sales of pixel art titles, then any game with "meat" to it have easily passed thousands of sales. Heck, I've even seen an AI pixel drawn game that managed to do well!

Then lets talk about "What I'm Looking for in Summer" (Only writing this mouthful once):

Japanese Summer vacation (Obon(お盆)) is a common theme in a good number of H games.
The premise always involves the MC dropped by their parents, or traveling from faraway to visit their very bangable relatives.

Our Summer trip adventure here is no different, as you take the role of Natsu: a shy curious lad, whom unfortunately often mistaken for a girl.
Natsu is staying over with his voluptuous aunt Misaki and the free-spirited Chitose during his Summer holiday.

What was originally supposed to be a calm and uneventful vacation, quickly escalates into a whole month where our MC's cock just can't catch a break.
Every female, from youngest to eldest want a piece of our lad. In one of the events Aoi - the shopkeeper, has a special interaction that spans over the entire day, draining the literal soul out of poor Natsu that probably never even held a girl's hand up to a few days ago.

Frankly speaking, I cannot for the life of me ever understand the whole appeal with testosterone lacking protagonists going on a bang-spree where the only way to save your mother and sister's purity is by locking them up with chains and padlocks.

But then again, it only takes one glance at boybands in Asia to understand the appeal.
I probably wouldn't be bothered if on the other side of the spectrum we have gigachad MCs that are often complete assholes fully invested in NTR as their life mission.

🕹️ Back to our gigolo-in-the-making Natsu - the first 10 days of the game act as a form of tutorial.
Your daily activities are powered by stamina that splits into 4 daytime bars and 2 night bars.
Each main interaction costs you a specific portion of your stamina (some also require all of it).

On top of your Stamina there is the "horny meter" - another HUD that indicates Natsu's mental state. It is sometimes required as a pre-requisite to initiate an H event, so be mindful of its build-up.
❗ Leaving it unattended will make Natsu detonate a semen bomb between his legs on that night.

Utilizing these two critical factors, walk around town to hit on the local girls one after another to build Natsu's relationship with them.
All of them will yield their "assets" pretty quickly, meaning that getting on their good side will lead them to perform even naughtier acts that the average person would generally have to pay someone to do.

31 days in total are given to complete everyone's desires. By the end of it you'll reach one out of 6 possible endings, including a bad end after Natsu cosplays a buddahist monk for an entire month.

One of the biggest appeals of these kind of games is the extreme comfiness of a countryside chill interactions. The beautiful calm music really sets the mood, and even though the game is timed, there's never a feeling of rush to get as much done as possible within a timeframe.

Stamina is recoverable with food that can be bought with the game's points currency.
You can increase it by trading fish, insects, and gacha toys that you collect on your adventure to the girls that collect them. Doing so is also the only way to further increase your relationships, so the whole system works in harmony to simulate an eventful vacation.

💕 I have no doubt that you clicked on "Show more" after your positive impression with the presented gorgeous pixel art quality.
Who can blame you? how often do we even get polished gems of such quality?

A dedicated follower would know that I barely cover this genre.
However, my resistances can only take so much wholesome comfiness paired with explicit high grade pixel lewds.
The absolute S class wombo combo that ANY cultured gaming collector must play.

All of the H scenes give more than one angle to fully enjoy and appreciate each act.
It's often a mix of first person close-up with a third person view, sometimes adding another angle of a character's asset.

Scenes can be replayed later at Natsu's room via the bookshelf AKA "The Gallery".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, "What I'm Looking for in Summer" is an absolute masterpiece.
Once the basics are laid down, the only fucking around will be done by you, in stocks.

Each character has her own anime trope, and that's totally fine.
Nobody tried to invent the wheel here. The whole purpose of the game is to give us an immersive comfy experience full of very high quality pixel animations. (There are no still CGs!)

While I still have my gripes with the MC, I was more than willing to overlook it, given the never-ending famine of high content volume H games that take their development seriously.

Sweet BGM, HOT scenes, one handed controls, and I suppose there's a story in there too.
What is there not to recommend? go get it! 💯
