Well I'll be damned.

If such a thing as AAA adult game exists, then we have a game awards GOTY!

Usually the development of an interactive H game requires a competent form of gameplay in order to keep the player engaged. (or else they can just watch the footage elsewhere)

Such interaction often has nothing to do with the sexual content, but rather acts as a tool to give context and progress the story to the juicy parts.

So color me surprised when I came across a game where the lewd acts are fully integrated into game progression.
Every action you take is forbidden and perverted, you are literally a person without a god, without a conscience.

In the MC's defense however, he did get possessed by a demon with an ulterior motive that has greater meaning than mindlessly assaulting the girls.
But still, the whole concept requires me to tiptoe very carefully to keep the post within ToS, so do bear with my light descriptions.

🕹️ The Nightmaretaker is a Point & Click adventure game, where as I just mentioned - you take the role of a man who got possessed by a Demon to do very forbidden things to girls at their institute.

You are tasked with collecting "light" which appears after you ejaculate on or inside the girls at different parts of their bodies.
The light will then create a mysterious letter that you'll collect in order to summon more demons to sign new contracts with.

New contracts mean new girls, and new abilities that evolve the gameplay formula by creating new progression to the same interactions you were limited to with each girl.

Your first victims will act as sort of tutorial to understand the interaction system.
Aoi - the girl you'll initially meet, will be found sleeping all on her own in the room.
Snoop around her belongings to get to know her better, and then prime her for ejaculation in a strategic part of her body to claim your "reward".

Be careful when preparing each girl for assault though, since they'll quickly wake up if you simply remove their clothes too quickly, or by letting your desire control you by getting bit too rough with them physically.

Thankfully a game over takes you back to where you left off, and the first ability you unlock tells you how close the girls are to wake up, so all in all it is quite forgiving.

Although it wasn't listed as such, I'd label The Nightmaretaker as a Puzzle game, rather than Adventure.
Each girl has multiple paths that you must carefully figure out by performing the correct order of actions.

There's no exploration (besides their bodies 🧐), but individual stages to select from while trying to figure out what to do next based on the new abilities you received.

💕 The game does a stellar job at simulating a sexual assault by treading carefully with each action, finishing up with further expectation to your next encounter with the same girl after obtaining new abilities.

You go from simple jerk off, to paizuri, to oral "exam", to full on creampie in order to get the girls pregnant - as the demon commanded you.

I'm not really into pregnancy, but if I was, I'd probably get very aroused by how great it was executed.
The slow burn into finally knocking up each girl is VERY satisfying, rather than how most games usually cut to the chase and simply give you a big belly CG "reward" then call it a day.

The artwork is amazing, as it should be in a game that was developed for 5 years.
Animations are perfect and don't feel like cheap CG manipulation, where instead individual frames were drawn to simulate the sexual act as detailed and smooth as possible.

Honestly, you can tell the game is cut from a different cloth just from the animations alone, since this level of CG usually stays just a static CG in most games.
It's a lot of work to create a single image, so imagine all the different angles, the X-rays, and the redrawn bits and pieces - both clothing and body parts.

All for the sake of immersion 👍

Games with the production value of The Nightmaretaker come once or twice in a year. (sometimes not even that)
It's a masterpiece through and through within the H simulation genre, with so much to do to keep you entertained for hours. (9 whoopin' gigs of content!)

💰 Since May 1st (day of release), the game have sold no less than 14,320 copies.
Nothing to sneeze at, but we've seen bigger numbers before - only with the tiny difference that each copy goes for no less than $44.

I'll do the math for you - that's $630,000 in sales within two weeks (!!!) from a studio that never published a full-fledged game before.

Yes, it's that good.

Easily among my most favorite titles this year.
⭐ 10 for innovation ⭐10 for artwork ⭐ 10 for content volume, and one final
10 for giving 0 f***s about releasing a game with such a controversial MC in this day and age. (based Japan)
