Ok, now I've definitely seen everything.

Yeah, I probably say this every other post, but I swear it's for real this time. (or until the next crazy dev)

I love Rhythm games. Who doesn't?
What I love more than rhythm games? Cultured rhythm games.
And what I love more than cultured rhythm games?

High f***ing QUALITY cultured rhythm games!

🕹️ I'm going to assume that most of you have played or at least heard of "Just shapes & Beats" right?
You know, where you control a little shape while avoiding other pink shapes that try to kill you in a beautiful illustrated way based on the beats.

Sounds of Succubus is EXACTLY that!
Now, at first I was skeptical... I mean, we're all pretty familiar with the budget limit of most H studios / devs.

So I gave it a shot... and became an instant fan of Cres., who's apparently a secret gigachad composer full of sick tunes and arousing beat drops

But why listen to me, when you can listen to the sweet pieces they cooked for this game on their bandcamp page.

Now that I think about it, I probably never or almost never spoke about music in cultured games. Maybe because I'd rather be left with a real impression other than writing about another passable tune.

So, music aside, the game delivers just as much hype with the same fun craziness bullet dodging it borrowed from JS&B.

Here's a side by side comparison of the two games:

As you can see for yourself, there was a lot of love poured into this project.
What captivates the most in both titles is the careful placement and reaction to the beat of each obstacle in a fun danmaku style short journey.

What's the word? ah yes, SOUL!

There are 5 stages in total, not a whole lot, but given the insane amount of work one must put into creating these things from scratch, I'd say you get a pretty good value out of the experience, with content that you can always come back to later, in more ways than one...

Each stage is themed around different girls based on their characteristics, such the upbeat weather girls, or the retro gamer.
All stages can be chosen and replayed again later from the main menu.

The game is challenging, but we gotta remember that at the end of the day it is an adult game, and I can sing and praise the music and the gameplay all I want, but some of you just want to chill and relax... which is why there is invincibility mode.

Basically let the each stage play itself out while you listen to the music.
And when it ends? time to engage with our girls a little...

💕 Each stage has two H rewards for two different lewd postures / acts, that I'm not entirely certain about their unlock requirement.
Not that it matters, since the whole gallery unlocks after you beat the game anyway.

There are no animations sadly. Only CG.
But what a beautiful CG that is... stunning and detailed artwork that normally I'd say worth going through the effort, but given how the entire game is made of pleasure for every sense..

It's all damn worth it 👍👍

Before I bid adieu, I have one more itsy-bitsy rhythm game for you called "Battle Booba!".

When I small I mean tiny, but very cute, fun, and actually pretty wholesome when you reach the end.

Face "Booba"- a cat monster that does not understand what you want from her life, in a battle for squishing what else? her booba!

Each round plays similarly to Beat Banger, and is accompanied with a short dialogue of your motives, a ripped piece of clothing, and a nice look at the prize.

The game takes no time to finish, but left a very positive impression on me, that I'm totally looking forward to the next release from the dev. (although they probably used an alias)
