Review:
How long has it been since this beauty was first announced?
I'm certainly not the only one that kept a close eye on it, given that the game have sold no less than (sit tight..) 18,750 units IN LESS THAN TWO DAYS!!!
ErisDysnomia got itself ranked at #4 most sold title in DLsite of ALL TIMES within the first 24 hours of release. Yes, that's how much faith in quality and respect people hold towards Above a Damage Tile, after playing the H masterpiece "Ayura Crisis!".
Lets get something straight..
We're not talking here about a some kind of GOTY tier project.
We're talking about high grade H game, and that's a huge difference, as there are different weights of factors here.
A good adult game must find the right balance between gameplay that doesn't require much from the user, but still engaging enough to keep things interesting, (or else you may as well just go watch the footage somewhere instead) to providing quality H content at a quick and accessible level.
What is ErisDysomnia then?
If you haven't checked out the prequel "Ayura Crisis!" yet, then first - give yourself a hard slap on the cheek (all 4 of them), and second - go play it immediately!
Admittedly, my review for Ayura was criminally short, since at the time I was rather new at this and was still learning about giving more respect to the projects I'm covering and my readers.
Just like in Ayura, you control the same familiar pink haired fighter, only this time she's named Eris. That's not the only difference however.
Our heroine is a lot more assertive, with a sharp look on her, and most importantly - she's using arms!
Other than her own body, you can now melt down your enemies with a badass quick scythe, dual pistols, and a (very) deadly shotgun.
The slick movement and the simple execution of badass combos were what made Ayura so entertaining to play, and now make a big-time return with unique movesets to all three different styles!
Your basic attacks deal decent damage, but generally don't have weight behind them to quickly dispatch elite enemies and bosses.
To power up, just like in Ayura you hit the style change button, where your entire moveset changes. In the prequel it made the punches and kicks a lot flashier and deadlier, however, in here you get to choose between Scythe (default) to guns (Down+C).
The style change also acts as a hitstun recovery in case you find yourself getting tossed around (in an unintended way..).
It is a very powerful feature, which can be used sparingly, as you keep generating the MP to unleash it by basically doing almost anything besides moving.
There are 5 stages in total, with each of them broken into fixed amount of segments that increase per each stage you progress.
The objective in each segment is to simply reach the end of it, while the type of encounters you'll find are based on the path you selected from the 3 choices at the end one.
You can select between a fight, an elite fight, an aphrodisiac pool (+fight), a longer linear stage + fight at the end, or a recovery pool.
Choosing the standard fight route is the fastest way to beat the game, since the recovery pool doesn't advance the remaining segments to clear.
The final encounter for each stage is a boss fight.
I can't really tell if the bosses were better designed than Ayura, because I do like how everything happens a lot faster between the player and the boss, but at the same time can be very chaotic, or don't give you as much freedom to go toe-to-toe because of instant attacks that aren't very telegraphed.
There's also an ability tree, that by the time you beat the game you'll be very far off maxing it out. Not that you'll ever need to, unless you'll play on the hardest difficulty and need the extra crutch.
The skills vary from life steal, to atk up, to different styles power ups in various ways, or flat out status effect resistances.
Now that we got most of the gameplay down.
Lets talk about the gameplay...
Lets state the obvious - the pixel art and animations are absolutely incredible!
Let us appreciate how the devs didn't spare any frames from making each lewd and non-lewd animations flowing so smoothly. Truly a joy to watch.
Each enemy has its unique intimate scene, which also includes bosses of course, who have more elaborated scenes.
The more you'll get Eris involved with lewd activity, the higher her intimate stats will increase. Allowing her to perform multiple sexy actions to lure her enemies, or allowing you to play with less and less clothes on her. (she'll originally refuse to play without her tights)
It's important to note that ALL the scenes are customized to whatever you're wearing at the time!
Another blessed feature is the extra room, which is basically a debug room.
You can freely view the entire gallery there, or mess around with your appearance, stats, and even spawn different enemies in case you wanna beat them up some more, or just view the animations in a more organic way. (the gallery is per phase)
The final unlockable feature is the arena, where you can undergo different challenges, or customize your own. I honestly didn't expect that at all, but certainly not complaining.

My honest feelings?
I like both games equally. Ayura has a bit more depth, more thought put into level design (even if still rather simple), and some of the H animations in it are more creative and fun to watch.
Eris on the other hand is most certainly drawn with higher quality, and the combat is better for being more versatile (both flow kinda similarly).
However, the stages segments repeat themselves too much, that you gotta wonder what's the point of increasing them? when nothing really changes past the 3rd room up to the boss fight.
To me, the game would've shined out so much more if there was increased variety of combat, unique objectives, or even randomized objectives, instead of letting us choose the "easiest" path.
All paths feel like they serve the same purpose (besides purifying), without any real incentive to choose one over the other, other than speed.
I put my criticism with an asterisk*, because H games, especially the successful ones - have a tendency to evolve and add / change content as time goes on.
Either way, I FULLY recommend Eris' game!
Above a Damage Tile delivered yet again an incredible H ACT experience.
With how successful both of their titles were, I believe it is safe to assume we can look forward to a content update, or even a third upcoming project.
