Try not to take this one too seriously. I promise that I didn't. I most drew from The History of the Hobbit One-Volume Edition. The timeline and extensive notes in it really calls into question the legitimacy of the earlier creation timelines put forward by Christopher Tolkien in The History of Middle-earth 12 volume series. If you love Middle Earth, it is a fascinating read that really humanizes Tolkien.
