Dear heroes!

"I hope you've all been well. I wanted to write earlier, but — here's a generic excuse — baby and family. For the first time, some relatives are flying over from Europe to see where I live in Korea, and these few weeks are a bit of a ferment, as you can imagine. Well, baby and house are washed and appointed and ready to receive guests, so that's a thing. Ran out of time to make myself presentable, but I'm sure they'll understand," he muttered blear-eyed whilst rubbing his scruffen chin.

First, a detour through the Purple Land.

Those who read the UVG might recall it's a place of magic cats and other wizards of the old technologies and the fantastic new sciences.

I might have to change the city icon. I keep wanting to play the map.

Sorry, terrible pun.

Anyway, very quickly the traveler into the Utter West finds evidence of biomagical error. I'd written up some of these spells before, grouped them and ungrouped them, split and sorted in different ways ... and now with the magitecnica codicil style at least somewhat presentable, I thought, why not bring them up to SDM stylings?

So I did.

Some will remember the art from the magic B-sides. I may use it or change it as the attached document is still a work in progress. I want to add a couple more powers, including that crazy one where the user turns into a littoral [sic] dragon.

This is one codex where I had to start out with a bit of a trigger warning and a suggestion that it really might serve better as powers to grant to the villains.

It's still very much a work in progress (notice the non-layout! and little art!) but I thought you might appreciate it this leap day.

That's right! Happy Leap Day!

Meanwhile ...

Also, a thank you on your feedback on what you'd like to see on the OGA crowdfunding later this year. I've conveyed my ideas to the good publisher EF and they're now expertly hacking away those that would be prohibitive to create or ship. Still, it's looking good.

The knights grammarian (and your fellow heroes) Madeline, MoonRawrr, and myownlittlworld have also cast their critical eye on the text of the Guide Book and hunted down a great number of gremlings. See the revised tome attached.

The reason I bring it up is that the guide book is going to get a printed edition and ... there have been some rustlings that it will be resized to A4, to fit with the UVG and the OGA ... I hope to be able to show that result in April.

The next post is almost certainly going to be the finished Codex 2 and the first teasers of the Purple Land, sometime in mid March.

Till then, may your flame lances ever dance bright in the night of forty-two moons, may your games be magic and your players ever astounded and delighted.

Talk to you soon, I have to go walk the baby and feed the dog ... no, wait ... ah, they'll figure it out.

—Luka

PS: and our end-of-monthly discord link https://discord.gg/qMjsaxSgPn - some folks have shared new (and I think rather nice) UVG character and caravan sheets, so that's lovely, and the art-share channel is quite welcoming.
