Seacat 0.78: Items. So. Many. (Patreon)

Welcome to December!

The last couple of weeks have been quite nice and productive. Seacat, the anti-canon rpg (eventually I'll figure out the subtitle ... maybe we should have a poll?) is now at 282 pages. And that's with pages getting cut. Without further ado. What's new:

• All the consumables. Potions. Munitions. More. 70 of them in total. Layout not yet final. (p143-147)
• 18 pieces of adventuring gear. Plan to add at least 12 more. (p148-151)
• 10 vehicles, including my favourite: the atomkraftwagen. A power plant on big, bubble wheels. Layout still wonky. (p152-155)
• New option of burdens instead of mutations, plus 8 burdens. (p187) Going to rename the types of mutations to something simpler. Probably harmful, cosmetic, and helpful.
• A bunch of art. Some finally plugged in, some brand new (check out the eye of the metagorgon art on p124 and the magic bubble on p110).

Cut out some weird consumables that were clogging up the place.

Aside: Longwinter Story

I really had fun with writing up Let Us In and I'm planning some more adventures of that scope after seacat. Maybe one for every month of the year, to make a nice little bundle of 12 12-page adventures. Well, the intro for one of them wanted to also be a story. So ... it's getting to be a story.

Enjoy the first part of Hollowbear over at substack. It's free and I don't have any plan to gate the story serials. Keeping to my theme of posting irregularly there and each post being words, one picture, and one link.

Later This Month

Seacat is coming along at a fast clip. There's a chance I'll post 0.79 with more rides, mounts, and adventuring gear before the end of this month. That's fingers crossed. Maybe even get back to tuning up spells. (At this point, I think it could also be time to release a brief summary of the rules as a free-pee-dee-eff. Ideas on this topic most welcome.)

Additionally, I've got a little bonus planned for everyone. So ... umm ... everyone, sorry, you'll get a couple of more posts this month. Probably.

Finally, I keep putting it off, but this week for real: metaheroes are going to get an extra extra post. A little special bundle of all the stuff I've done in a single big file.
