Hello Heroes.

Hello Passersby.

The days of quarantine continue to tick and rattle by. Slow, like wind-swept boulders. Swift, like forgotten blossoms. Forgotten, like yesteryear's snow. It's a strange timescape, where I busy myself all day, yet the days sag and melt like wax before the flame.

I look back on ten days, and can't recall much. What have I done? It's hard to recall.

Still, the wax runs and cools and new shapes forms. Boulders and mountains of wax, ready to gather fresh dust. New things ready to slip from mind when the clocks punch in their cards.

Right, but enough maudlin 'membrance of other things.

To games.

Seacat Rules

This is the thing I've been mostly working on in small chunks this week. After building the Zoa book, I realized that I do actually quite like the UVG layout I worked so hard on. So Seacat is getting ported to that layout.

Along the way I'm also expanding those niggly remaining rules: experience, levels and advancement, life and hurt and uses of it, aptitude, hero dice ...

And, and ... I really hope: conflict.

If I get those in there before the next update, then v0.4 will be really close to complete.

Look at that pretty layout. So clean. So minimalist. Such a ready receptacle for some groovy art.

License

I've also been asked about third-party content for UVG (and even seacat). I've got to get a license worked out, but suffice to say I'm pretty open to it. GrinningManiac and a few others have made some amazing stuff over on the discord server that I really need to share properly, as has Skerples.

Translations

I've signed contracts for translating the UVG to Spanish with Cursed Ink and Portuguese with Retro Punk. This was stuff I had on my desk to get sorted for months ... but in the burnout phases I couldn't bring myself to finish and sign and complete. I want to thank everyone who's approached me about projects like this and had the patience to put up with me.

Discat or Eriscat or What Have You

Saker Tarsos has added the Zoa generators to the UVG digital GM screen. We're ironing out some bugs, but that should be available soon. We're also discussing developing a stripped down variant of Seacat for roleplay over digital media like discord. I wanted Eriscat, but Saker prefers Discat. I wonder if that should include rules for dissing the cat.

Fixing the Website

Still on the horizon.

----- /// -----

Questions pose themself: Why is there always so much work to do? Why am I so slow at getting stuff done? Ah. They never go away.

Still. Thank you for reading :)

And as a small bonus - a little bit of map art from waybac in 2011.

Cheers,

Luka

Yes! There are a few. Here's a link to one by the good Mufasa951: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gBi_RB4DN6JxGlplxKKSesre14BpB_cvkjjGxpQ3Xi4/edit?usp=sharing
