Hello all, and happy 2024! We've got lots of incredible updates in store this year: brand new boroughs, the launch of our first kickstarter, and the completion of our largest borough yet, Elseridge Academy! Today's release is the seventh part of the magic school, slotting in due east of map 6. Let's take a look at all the goodies we have in store for you!

Borough Guide

This borough guide is dedicated to the College of Cosmology. If you've read the previous guides about other colleges within Elseridge, you know what to expect! We've got an overview of the school, a list of classes, 6 fleshed out NPCs (with some gorgeous art), points of interest, and a table of rumors and plot hooks! If you want to introduce themes of weird space magic (or if you're just GMing divination / star-themed party members), this guide should give you everything you're looking for.

Maps

Our map for this one is pretty stunning, right? The centerpiece here is the Prime Observatory. I'm sure you'll all run some crazy antics with that building. We've also got more canals and the western half of the school's largest lecture hall. As with each of our Elseridge maps, we provide 5 additional aesthetic variants: Tropical, Forest, Winter, Fluxum, and Starfall.

We have two interior maps for you. First up is the interior of the Prime Observatory, perfect for cosmology classes, downtime research, or setpiece boss battles. We've also got the Institutional Memoriplex, a basement library filled with secret records about the college. This little basement maze is perfect for stealth missions. Use it for that. Little bit of Metal Gear Solid action here right under the magic school. That'd be fun. You should try it.

Music

"Penumbral" is ethereal, magical, spacy starry music. It's rich, orchestral, and full. It gives off an air of mystery, but not in an explicitly spooky way. It's just kinda of like "hey, what da heck is going on in outer space?" I was listening to a lot of Starfield and Elden Ring music when I wrote this, and I think this is probably just the midpoint of those two ideas. Our variant this week is sparser, more piano-centric, and altogether less idiosyncratic. It's a better choice for less bizarre locales.
