Hello all! Today, we bring to you the Definitive Edition of our borough Zahuatil Ruins. This post includes some new content and some slight tweaks to old content. A summary follows!

1. Patrons at the General Messenger and Chief Courier tier can now download the Definitive Edition Borough Guide! There's a table of contents, a few errors have been fixed, and (most importantly) the whole document is now one big 105-page PDF. You can grab the Definitive Edition PDF via this link.

2. All patrons can download the full suite of Zahuatil Ruins VTT Tokens via this link.

3. The Zahuatil Ruins Foundry module is completed! The whole city is implemented, interior maps are in place, and music + PDF are all ready to use as well. Patrons at the Chief Courier tier can grab the Zahuatil RuinsFoundry Module via the Chief Courier Master Post. If you notice any issues with the Foundry module, please just ping us, and we'll make sure to edit and update ASAP!

Please note: there are two versions of the Zahuatil Ruins Foundry module, one that uses the Levels module (shout-out to Ripper93 for the incredible Foundry programming), and one that does not. Generally speaking, we strongly recommend that you use the version with Levels.

4. We've got high-res maps of the ruins that are ungridded, seamless, and magnificent. We have four versions of the map: Original, Rebuilt, Shadowfell, and Desert. The Shadowfell and Desert maps are only available to patrons at the General Messenger tier and up!

5. We've released another set of map assets! This bundle of foliage assets includes 136 different tree, bush, branch, flower, and log .pngs you can use to make your own verdant maps. Use them as tools to build new maps of your own, whether you use DungeonDraft, Inkarnate, MS Paint, or any other map-making software. We'll be releasing new asset bundles with each Definitive Edition, but only for our Chief Courier patrons!

6. We've got a few pieces of fun bonus content to help all of you finish up fleshing out your Zahuatil Ruins adventure. You can download all of this bonus content via this link. The zip file includes:

  • A brand new track from our composer Will! He "remixed" a few of the existing Zahuatil Ruins tracks to bring you a brand new ambience "Organic Stone," perfect for creepy dungeon trekking.
  • Deepest Dungeon, a dungeon map from our cartographer James Nathaniel that is perfect for epic encounters within the ruins.
  • An additional overgrown temple map by our interior artist Fantasy Atlas. Use this map for encounters throughout the Chorago rainforest, and make sure to follow Fantasy Atlas on Patreon!

7. I just want to remind you about some additional resources we have available:

Finally, I can't wait to run this for my players! I just wish my PC was better/my internet was better to use the levels version, it's a bit too much going on for my set-up to handle unfortunately. The regular one will work just fine though!

Hi, question: Do the full maps for this (or any city) come with gridded versions? I can only find the gridless versions of the large full-city maps (ie: GL_ZahuatilRuins.....). I'm sure they exist, as some of the full maps you posted to Reddit had grids, which is what prompted me to pop over and join. Kindly point me in the right direction? Thank you!

Hey phogocytosis. We actually don't release gridded versions of the full-city maps because GMs who use the full-city maps are almost always doing so inside a VTT that allows for automatic gridding anyway. We try not to overwhelm folks with unreasonable amounts of files.

Hi! Trying to use the Foundry version with levels, but a lot of the tiles are missing their images and just shows a warning icon with an exclamation mark instead. Anything I'm missing here?

Hey there, we've seen this glitch before! Are you using the Forge for your Foundry integration?
