Warped, wrapped, and displaced

Hello everyone, and happy end of the month! We've got one final release for you today before the rest of the internet suddenly starts getting super annoying on April 1st. With this release, we're one step closer to the conclusion of Elseridge Academy ! This release is all about the nuanced art of Translocation, AKA teleportation, time dilation, gravitational magic, etc. Let's dive in!

Borough Guide

This borough guide is dedicated to the College of Translocation. If you've read the previous guides about other colleges within Elseridge, you know what to expect! We've got an overview of the school, a list of classes, 6 fleshed out NPCs (with some gorgeous art), points of interest, and a table of rumors and plot hooks! Translocation is the newest and least understood magic at Elseridge Academy. As such, its practitioners are always experimenting with new mechanics, and things to tend to get a bit kooky.

Maps

This is one of our favorite maps we've made thus far. The dominating point-of-interest is the bizarre Statement Hall, a tangled knot of distorted classrooms folding in on themselves. Complex magic yields sometimes silly results. Levitating bridges also connect this newer section of campus to the adjoining colleges. As with each of our Elseridge maps, we provide 5 additional aesthetic variants: Tropical, Forest, Winter, Fluxum, and Starfall.

We really put our interior cartographer Matt through the wringer this week. Our interior for Statement Hall includes one fairly standard level of classrooms and administrative spaces, but the second floor is the closest we've ever come to dabbling in non-Euclidean nonsense. Perspective gets crazy and warped. Physics gets a bit... unhinged. Good luck adjudicating distances when you inevitably run some brain-busting combat in this space! As with all of our interiors, these maps are only available to those subscribed at the Chief Courier tier or higher.

Music

"Re-Raveling" is mysterious magical music, perfect for evoking poorly understood arcana. Meandering chords and unfamiliar time signatures give a sense of unease but also... wonder? It's slow and meditative enough that you're probably good to use it for any sort of non-threatening scenario. For a more aggressive, quasi-sci-fi sound, try out the "Spacetime" variant!
