Steve

I like long campaigns. I ran the same AD&D campaign for three years in France, and five in the UK. And my current Trail of Cthulhu game has had 215 sessions over 5 1/2 years, all online. And I've played in a 45 year old high school D&D campaign, but only for the last 15 years or so. They even had their original characters until it got to unwieldy for the GM and there was a reset to level one 13th Age, but even that's getting close to topping out (level 10). And yeah, the Yellow Dragon would be fine, if there were no other dragons, or antlions comma giant. It does strike me as word count. These days I think you'd have a table of colours, lairs, powers - GMs choose or roll. And 25 pages would be condensed to a nifty random generator and three pages of explanatory text.
