My current is game is much influenced by folklore so I've been using British calendar customs, https://calendarcustoms.com/. Our PCs have attended the Padstow Obby Os and might become involved in a Lakeland sheep festival. You'd think there might be more of this kind of thing in a game of Rune Quest, but less so than you might imagine in my experience.

In my Glorantha game, I started the characters as youths and then had them play through their initiation -- and then I ran the adventure from the HQ1 book that's set at the Kite Festival, so my game had a lot of that kind of thing. It was a great pretext to get them to visit other clans.
