With the time turner he found, Faeran went back a full six hours. And he immediately left the room he was in behind.

He would come back to it later after his past self came to the room. And as soon as he did, Faeran instead went straight into the usual work out room he had the Room of Requirement prepare for him.

And he got straight down to the grind.

That despite what anyone else would say, was the best use of his time right now. He had a limited amount of time before the Reem Blood potion would be ready.

So the stronger he became, the more benefits he would see when he took it.

Some also might wonder how he could put himself through the ringer working out for six hours straight. Even with the potions he took to increase his stamina, recover his stamina, enhance his muscle growth and heal his muscles after working them to the limit, the mental strain of such a thing would become incredibly tedious.

And it was.

But that was what the Confundus Charm was for.

He confunded himself for a limited amount of time to focus on nothing else but the grind and increasing his physical ability.

It allowed him to attain a single minded focus.

And it was the idea he came up for through the week for improving even the rate he could become an occlumens.

The magic system for the Harry Potter world, was absolutely broken. When it was used properly. Many spells had so many applications, but beyond straight forward things, nobody ever used them creatively.

For instance, people called the Draconifors spell useless. It allowed them to transfigure small objects into dragons that could even breathe fire. It was the spell used even in the Triwizard Tournament to create the small model dragons Harry and the other champions picked from a bag to fight for the first task.

Tiny as they were, they were still dragons. Albeit, lacking the very magic resistant hide real dragons had.

Why didn't anyone use the Engorgio spell to enlarge it ten times over for a human sized dragon attack dog? Why didn't they use Engorgio Maximus to double that over.

Why didn't they use Engorgio Tria Maximus to increase that scope another three times over? With that, one could have a near full sized fire breathing flying dragon to attack foes with.

And send it after them like a heat seeking missile with a simple oppugno.

Not even Hermione Granger and other muggleborns who should really know better, thought of using spells like that.

It was honestly disappointing.

It wasn't even like he was smarter than Hermione, he'd been taught spells by her and Harry personally last year as a DA member, he knew how intelligent she was.

She was way smarter than him.

But she was rigid. She wasn't creative in that regard. And if he wasn't wrong, some of her common sense had been eroded by the wizarding world during her time in it.

But either way, the point of the matter was, his creative use of the confundus charm alongside his potions, had allowed him to this point, as he finished up his work out, to attain what amounted to ninety one days of work outs.

Thirteen a day through the strategic use of potions. And the gains he got from each one, increased through positions even further. Or it was thirteen before. But now with the time turner, he could double that to twenty six.

'This is good.' Faeran admired himself in the mirror of his dorm room. He'd returned around the same time his past self would now be heading to the room of requirement.

In just six days, he had now gotten to the point where could bench more than a full two hundred pounds, in fact he could bench roughly two hundred and twenty five pounds. He was stronger and fitter than he was back in his original body.

Or his other body really.

…He was the amalgamations of two Faeran's after all of two different universes. It was hard to remember that sometimes.

Some would probably not find that all that impressive, about average for a fit gym goer adult. There was people much stronger after all.

The difference was he was thirteen years old and didn't have the same limits as normal humans as a wizard.

Well, either way.

The results spoke for themselves.

And he looked good.

As the mirror that he was posing in front of for the second time today could attest to. He was dressed back in his school uniform, since there was a big quidditch match today, Gryffindor versus Slytherin and it was expected everyone would wear their dorm colours or colours of who they supported.

He didn't have any of the Ravenclaw quidditch team support clothing, or for any of the other houses for that matter.

So his uniform would have to do.

But god damn did he look good. With his spiky brown hair highlighted with blonde tips, his glinting blue eyes. His jumper and robe left off to show off the white shirt and black trousers, with the top few buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up showing off his muscled collarbone and thickum dickum forearms.

And of course his tie nice and slack. Because he was a cool geek like that.

It was amazing the changes one could go through when they had magic spells and magic potions to cheat with.

After he was done admiring himself in the mirror, Faeran made his way over to his bed and sat down atop it, "What now?" he mused.

He had plans for tonight.

Despite what happened this morning with Astoria and whatever would come of that. He was going to be heading to the Gryffindor dorm room tonight after the quidditch game.

He wanted to take the chance to make a copy of the Half Blood Prince's book, or rather Snape's. From it, he wanted the Sectumsempra spell the most, that was a really powerful spell. But beyond it, there was a bevy of interesting spells within it and tips and tricks for potion making.

And while he was there, he was going to slide his way in the sneaky slimy Slytherin and use Weasley's idiocy to his own benefit to get in Hermione's good graces.

And fuck her cross eyed if the opportunity presented it. But even if it didn't, it would be a good chance and the easiest opportunity to foster even better relationships with the 'golden trio'.

Or at least two of them.

Weasley wouldn't take too kindly to him making a move on Hermione, but that was his own fault really.

But until then, there was a good few hours until the quidditch came and what would come after that.

….Then for now, that left the library since the Room of Requirement would be getting used by his past self.

Maybe he could look into rituals or enchanting. The Greengrass had more or less obviously checked anything like a cleansing ritual for their situation, but what would one backed by the Elder Wand be like he wondered?

Or what about an enchanted item that passively boosted the physical health and such of the wielder? Like an earring kept in at all times, it might not be a cure, but it could possibly offset some of the effects of Astoria's curse.

Besides, there were bound to be benefits in them for himself as well.

_____________

Enchantments or Rituals.

Such was the question Faeran pondered on his way towards the Hogwarts library. With enchantments, he could make something like a badass sword.

An unbreakable sword that could say be enchanted to rapidly extend to pierce enemies and be clad with a dark curse or poison of some kind to fuck them over.

Like Basilisk Venom!

But with rituals, there was all manner of things. And during his Astronomy classes, Professor Sinistra had even offhandedly mentioned that at the right time, some rituals could be used to increase the power of ones innate magic and things like that.

Though the power increases were generally very minimal. And they only truly saw great benefits the longer one lived because of witches and wizards magic power passively growing with age.

They weren't really a focus for him right now, especially after Astoria told him earlier about where he stood magically. He was around the same level as Snape in power, which wasn't too shabby.

Outside of freaks like Harry, Dumbledore and Voldemort he wasn't lacking in that regard at all.

Rituals that could enhance the body could be a good avenue though. Both for him and for Astoria.

'Let's see what I can find.' he mused as he made his way into the library and browsed the shelves of thick magic tomes.

He paused as he passed by the restricted section, giving it a forlorn look, before continuing on.

…Maybe he could see about asking Professor Slughorn about getting a pass for there in the future, but for now, he'd have to stick with the normie non cool restricted books.

_____________

It took literally over an hour of searching though the shelves before he found a decent book on rituals.

That was he supposed kind of expected.

It was known to him after all that Dumbledore had long since taken anything of any real power or significance from the library. So there was obviously never going to be anything around even in the restricted section that say was about human sacrifices for enhanced life or power or something.

Even with the book he did find, many of them were very…well-

Useless.

Most of what he saw, could be done with a spell much easier and without any preparation. Like a ward to repel insects.

He was actually just about to give up on the book as he was three quarters of the way through it, and go look into some enchantment books, when one did peak his interest.

The Ritual of Commitment.

'Hoh, what's this?' Faeran's eyebrows rose with interest as he read over the instructions and effects of the ritual.

It was very simple.

It was a vow more or less. To be performed at the apex of night. Which would be midnight.

It wasn't something like commitment to a person in marriage or something like that, which the name of it would suggest.

But rather, it was a vow to do something that would effect you in return for doing something. Like lifting weights for example.

As long as one stayed true to the vow, it would compound and increase the benefits one gained from such an activity.

The increases were minimal.

But, those increases had much larger compounding effects for certain milestones. For a month. For five months, for a year, for ten years.

It would be something like a five percent increase in results normally, but then at say the first milestone a fifty percent increase, or then one hundred percent at the five months milestone.

That was interesting.

Especially because, it took into account what was accrued during the full day and result would be allocated at midnight every night the commitment was kept to.

For most of wizard kind, this kind of ritual would be absolutely useless to them.

But…for him who was abusing potions to enhance his physical growth massively, a five percent increase in the total amount he gained during that day would be while not massive.

A steady benefit.

If he increased the amount he could lift by twenty five pounds a day, which he more or less had been doing if not a bit more, then at the midnight bell, that would increase by a little over one pound more each night.

Such minimal increase would probably make one balk normally for such effort, but for Faeran…that was amazing.

One pound a day, became thirty pounds a month. Thirty pounds a month, became three hundred and sixty pounds a year.

And that was not taking into account the milestone accomplishments.

But beyond even that.

This one might actually be useful for Astoria as well. Even if she didn't put the same back breaking effort into working out as he did, and was actually incapable of doing so.

If she kept it up every day, the milestone benefits for the month, five months and year could very well help her body become strong enough to endure the bloodcurse on her a little better.

…And then she could give up the commitment.

And restart it once more to once more attain the one month, five months and one year milestone benefits.

And repeat it over and over again for years until she built her body up slowly and steadily to being able to endure her malediction curse.

Maybe.

It was in no way a cure after all, and considering how lacking her ability for exercise actually was, even the milestones would be minimal unless she pushed herself extra hard those days.

But it was a decent stop gap at least and could extend her time a bit more. And it was worth a try, at the very least, it made sense for the Greengrass to never try out this idea.

The very idea of training the bodies fitness was more or less foreign to wizard kind as a whole.

I’m honestly surprised you just didn’t asked the room of requirements for the ingredients and or recipe for the philosopher stone or for the straight up cure
