There was an incessant banging on his front door, and he found himself rousing from slumber and rising up into a sitting position within the confines of his large, incredibly comfortable bed.

"Ugh…" Yarden groaned, clutching his head. He'd came to quite early this morning, and with a splitting headache too boot, and even now hours later, it was still there.

And that damn banging on his door, definitely wasn't helping things.

Though he supposed that kind of thing tended to happen, when one was suddenly awoken by an onslaught of memories not their own, the entire lifetime of one the same age as he, dumped into his mind all at once.

'Or were they there all along and only now just burst out?' he wondered idly, dragging himself out of his bed and running a hand through his shaggy and spiky brown-red hair.

Some things about and around him, suddenly made quite a bit more sense to him. He'd always wondered about his tail, but he'd chalked it up to just a minor mutation in his quirk.

But perhaps all along, he had subconsciously been effecting its shape all along?

'Well, whatever.' he rolled his eyes, sudden new memories of an entirely different life as an entirely different teenager didn't mean squat to him.

The teen stepped over the empty glass bottles and cans that had fallen onto his bedroom floor last night, and uncaring of the fact he was dressed only in a pair of boxers, he made his way through to the huge living area of the penthouse he lived in and to the front door.

"Oh, it's just you." Yarden sighed dully when he pulled the door open.

His aunt, Ryukyu a tall, slim blonde haired woman dressed in her full standard hero ensemble huffed, arms crossed as she glared at him, "You were supposed to meet me two hours ago." she growled.

"Oh, was that today?" he put a show on off being 'surprised'.

Spoiler: he wasn't.

Yawning, he turned away from the door and made his way into the centre of the living space to sit down on one of the couches, his hand going into his boxers to scratch his balls.

A customary ritual when waking up.

"Can you not do that in front of me?" Ryukyu sighed, following him inside and closing the door behind her, before grimacing as she eyed the inside of the house, pillows off of the couches strewn about everywhere, tables filled with various forms of alcohol, "You realise I'm a hero right? And you're literally blatantly advertising underage drinking in front of me."

"Gonna arrest me?" Yarden snorted, amused at the thought.

Ryukyu grit her teeth, "When will you grow up a bit? You turned fifteen yesterday and you didn't show up at all for the celebration I planned for you, you just invited a bunch of delinquents up here from what I heard and partied," the blonde narrowed her eyes at him angrily, "And you even blew me off today! Do you know how hard it was to get you into the recommended examinations at U.A with your track record the past couple years?"

"To be fair, the whole hero crap is something you decided for me on your own." he pointed out.

"Because you need to get back on the right track!" Ryuko, as was her real name - not very creative now was she? - shouted, clenching her fists, her nails for a split moment, lengthening into claws before she retracted them, "You used to want to be a hero! With your quirk and the training you used to go through, you could easily surpass me by time you graduated U.A."

Honestly, she was like a broken record, she went on about this crap at least once every two weeks, tried to give him a kick up the ass and get moving and all that nonsense.

"Yeah, well reality came knocking." Yarden sighed, reaching up to run a hand through his hair, though specifically not the one he was scratching his balls with, he was classy like that.

And by reality, he meant a villain wanting revenge against his hero mother for putting him away, teamed up with a bunch of other villains and murdered her, then his father, and he would have joined them, if not the quirk his aunt was just talking about.

…And then, after fighting off his attackers in a rage and injuring them quite a bit, he was punished alongside them, gaining a black mark on his record.

Ryuko grimaced, "..I know it isn't fair at times, but the law is like that for a reason, I don't fault you for what you did, I don't think anybody does really, but the law is the law for a reason," her shoulders dropped, "…And they weren't just your parents, they were my older sister and brother in law y'know."

Damn right it wasn't fair. Villains came to murder him and his family, did manage to murder his family, and he almost lost all career prospects in the future and had to walk around with a fucking ankle bracelet for six months just because he put that lead fucker in a coma.

'He was lucky he didn't end up in the morgue.' Yarden growled, a harsh exhale from his nostrils emitting steam.

Fucking Japan man and their ass backwards laws. If he was back in Scotland, where he lived his formative years due to his father being Scottish, he would have been celebrated in the newspapers as a brave hero.

But no, here? He was basically castigated as a fucking villain for defending himself, who cared how excessive he was in the process?

And the worst of it was, he was fucking stuck here at least until he was an adult by law. Because, his aunt was his legal guardian now, and she was a big celebrated Jap hero, so she couldn't exactly just jump ship either.

"How many times do I need to tell you? It's not about my parents," he huffed. That was two years ago now, he was devastated when it happened, but he'd come to accept it, and while it hurt that they were gone now, 'time healed all wounds' was a famous quote for a fucking reason, "I just don't see why I should waste my time to become a hero for a pathetic country like Japan."

He'd much rather just enjoy himself, as he had been doing the past year when he finally got out of his edgy dramatic woe is me punk phase. His mother was a pretty high ranking hero, so she made quite a large sum over her career, and his father came from old, and still very wealthy money himself, and all their assets became his upon their deaths.

Granted, his aunt more or less managed it in name, but he pretty much had free access to do with it as he pleased.

Ryuko sighed, "…Is there really nothing I can do to convince you to shape up a bit? Things might be all fun and games drinking and partying your life away now, but it'll grow stale, trust me," she shook her head, "You might have missed the recommendation exams, but the normal ones are tomorrow, I can pull some strings and get you in."

Heh, nepotism. Not that he minded, he wasn't exactly a saint.

Granted, he supposed not all of Japan and the hero crap was bad. The female heroes were definitely lovely eye candy, "I might be convinced if you set me up with Mirko," Yarden grinned, "That is one shaggable bunny."

"That's my friend you're talking about y'know." Ryuko grimaced.

"I know." his grin widened.

Ryuko rolled her eyes and snorted, "Maybe if you actually kept up your training, I wouldn't be too against it," she mused, before shrugging, "But, as you are now? With how weak you are? She'd snap you in half."

"Weak!?" he bared his teeth on instinct. Yes, he'd slacked off, yes, he wasn't as in good shape as he was before, or as strong, the party life style did that to you, but weaker, did not mean weak.

He could still smack around any of those weakling hero hopefuls he saw on television all the time, most of them without even using the full strength of his quirk.

"Yes, weak," his aunt huffed, "Maybe not compared to most, but compared to me, and even yourself from two years ago, you're definitely not a challenge."

He grit his teeth and wanted to fire back…but, as much as he would like to, she wasn't wrong.

For all the amazingness his quirk bestowed upon him, it was useless if he didn't do anything with it.

"I mean, c'mon Yarden, when was the last time you even transformed?" his aunt asked pointedly.

He grimaced again. His quirk, was named Combustion Dragon. Unlike his mother, and aunt, he was unable to assume a full on dragon form. When he transformed, it was more becoming a partial dragon.

At the face, that would seem weaker than their 'Dragon' quirks. But, his own quirk was inherently superior to them. Call it a mutation or evolution of the 'Dragon' quirk, maybe coming out due to his fathers quirk, though the man never actually told him what his quirk was, he always just gave him some mysterious, utterly chuuni nonsensical run around until he got bored of asking. Basically, his dad loved to take the piss out of him when he asked.

Either way, what made his quirk superior to his mother and aunts, was that, he had what he'd come to call earlier in life his 'Inner Flame'. Yet, despite the name, it was nowhere near as simple as that. Sure, it allowed him to actually generate fire within his body and breathe it out, but it wasn't actually fire at the base, it was heat, energy.

And that heat, augmented practically every positive aspect of his body. Strength, speed, agility, reflexes, hearing, eyesight, smell, making it better, stronger. It even augmented his bodies natural internal processes like his metabolism and boosted the rate his body recovered and healed, and he could even draw upon it, at the risk of exhausting himself for a while and suffering a 'burn out', to increase all that to even greater heights.

There was a reason why, despite only being a barely nearing thirteen year old little brat, he'd been able to overpower the villain who killed his hero mother, with the same quirk as his aunt, alongside his cronies.

Even now, despite having barely exercised, never mind trained in two years, and drinking alcohol all the time at parties and shit for months on end, he was still fit and muscular, he hadn't gained any fat really, the most was, his inner flame had weakened a bit from not being used as much and physical fitness being a lot lower than before just from muscle degradation.

Granted, you'd think with the way it constantly burned off any hangovers he'd have ended up with, and with how much he drank, his flame would be stronger than ever.

"…I don't remember?" Yarden looked away sheepishly. Honestly, when was the last time he even used his quirk properly? Beyond a party trick and burning his hangovers to death before they ever reached him.

She shook her head in dismay at his response, "And isn't that telling enough?" Ryuko sighed, she was doing that a lot, "You used to always stay in your transformed state as long as you could, one of the things you loved the most in the world was flying through the air with your wings, what happened to that kid?"

"His parents died and yet still somehow managed to ground him." he snorted, but still didn't meet her eyes. It was a lot harder to feel all smug and act the haughty arrogant prick, when she wasn't full on lecturing him, at least then he could happily be defiant.

He idly remembered his father taking him on a trap to the Scottish Highlands and letting him fly as he pleased. That was a good weekend, he even got to visit Loch Ness, such a beautiful place.

Ryuko rubbed her eyes and sat down beside him on the couch, "You idiot, I know it annoys you when I get on your case, and I get it really, you're pretty much set for life, why should you put all that effort in?" she lifted her arm and wrapped it over his shoulder before leaning against him, "But, I just want the best for you, and you really have the potential to go the distance, maybe even surpass All Might."

Yarden blinked as that name resounded in his ears. All Might. It allowed him to focus the deluge of memories that was swarming around his head after he woke up.

My Hero Academia.

That was…an anime, and manga series. About a future hero society, and their genetic superpowers, quirks, following one of the biggest wastes of shonen hero's ever.

The memories he received….this world he was born in, lived in. Was, fictional in this other guys memories? Not that he actually knew much, he'd only seen a few episodes before being disgusted with the main character and not picking it up again.

…That could actually be a problem. Because the way the vast majority of shonen battle series progressed, eventually put the entire world in jeopardy.

And the hero of entire setting, was some cry baby, weakling green haired noodle.

'..You've got to be kidding me.' Yarden thought in horror.

Ryuko unlatching herself from him and standing back up broke him from his thoughts, "Y'know, it's fine if you don't want to go to U.A," she shrugged, "I'm not giving up making you shape up a bit, but I'll stop bugging you about being a hero."

"…No, it's fine, no need to have wasted all that time bugging me," Yarden started on instinct, "I'll go."

He remembered something else a moment ago. Not from the memories of his apparent other life - like where the fuck did they come from, was he reincarnated or some cheesy crap like that? - but his own, of a story in the news about a year ago.

Of All Might saving some blonde kid from a villain made of slime. Which meant, of course, just his luck, the shonen was kicking into gear around now.

And he was so not leaving his future livelihood in that weak ass green noodle's hands.

"Eh? Y-you will!?" Ryuko gaped, her golden yellow eyes going wide with shock.

"Aye," he sighed in defeat, standing up. Brilliant, just brilliant. He snorted and smirked at her, "But you need to introduce me to that hot arse blue haired bird you took as an intern."

Her eyes went from wide eyed, shocked, to narrowed instantly, "No way, you aren't getting within ten feet of Nejire until you get tested," she hissed, like a protective mother hen, "Don't forget, I know exactly what has been going on in this little penthouse suite apartment of yours, I know how many skanky gold diggers made their walk of shame out of here the mornings after."

"Feh, my flame would burn any of that crap out anyway." he crossed his arms at her, jutting his chin out challengingly.

Though she wasn't wrong about the skanky gold diggers. He was rich, strong and very young, that last usually being an indicator of an easy target.

They were of course wrong, and they were the prey before the dragon.
