"Trident Arm!"

With the call of his attack, his massive chrome digizoid claw was propelled forward atop a cable, carving straight through the chest of a gleaming red Spiral Okuwamon.

Despite being a beast beyond a normal ultimate level digimon, its powerful body proved no match for his claw.

The fake digimon gave a gurgle before splitting apart and dissolving into data and disappearing.

Metal Greymon stared at the spot it was in previously, a void of kaleidoscopic colours, before nodding once at a job well done and turning away.

He flapped the purple wings on his back and shot up through the air of the void he was flying through and doing battle within and continued up far into the sky where an island floated in the sky.

The island belonging to his partner and tamer.

It didn't take very long at all for him to reach his destination. Despite his massive size, Metal Greymon had a great speed that belied that size.

He landed atop a path inching off from the island, the only part of the island not protected by a massive barrier. As he landed, he found a large figure almost half his size standing behind the barrier guarding it.

A crimson red armoured digimon with blades for legs and a long blade enhanced tail. Jesmon, but not any old Jesmon. Jesmon Super Brave Mode.

A Jesmon multiple times more powerful than the norm.

The second strongest digimon his master had under his control, right behind Metal Greymon himself. And in soon days, the strongest. He would soon be surpassed.

Envy bubbled in his chest before Metal Greymon ruthlessly squashed it. He almost laughed at the absurdity of it all. Once upon a time, he didn't understand what being alive meant, what his purpose was, and resented his strength. Now here, after being reborn, he wished for his old form despite being vastly stronger than he was was.

'...If only I could digivolve.' he lamented, despite his best attempts not to. But alas, in this life, his potential only allowed him to reach the ultimate level of Metal Greymon(Virus). He lacked the potential to become Black Wargreymon in this life.

"I sense no more Spiral Digimon," Jesmon said as he approached the barrier, giving him a light nod, "Well done, thank you for your efforts Leader."

"There were not many of them this day." Metal Greymon replied simply. Jesmon nodded once more, before raising his an arm and waving it, lowering the barrier around the entrance and allowing him to step onto the soft and luscious grass land of the island territory belonging to their master.

As soon as he did, the rowdy and reverberating noise of the island inhabitants washed over him. Despite how large the island now was, it was still clearly audible due to just how many digimon now lived upon this island.

Especially ones of his own size such as Machinedramon or Metal Seadramon.

"Any troubles while I was gone?" Metal Greymon asked his second in command. He was not gone for long, maybe a half an hour to take care of the Spiral Digimon that were trying to breach the island once again, but such a short amount of time was enough for incidents to break out when there were so many powerful digimon in one place.

And there were over a hundred digimon living on this island. Each varying between the Ultimate and Mega levels

Many were of fiery personality and complete hot heads that were liable to blow a fuse or get into fights as easy as breathing.

"No, not as such," Jesmon shook his head, "Though Metal Etemon is once again attempting to gather an audience and start up a concert."

Metal Greymon rolled his eyes behind his chrome digizoid helmet, "He's completely tone deaf, he'll attract a mere few at best." it was hardly worth worrying about.

Unless Boltmon took issue with him again and they got into another scrap. Or Venom Myotismon decided to be a nuisance and start mocking him with the opportunity presented.

But he could leave that to Gallantmon and Sleipmon. It was their job to oversee the general populace of the island while Jesmon guarded the premises of the island and kept him informed of approaching threats.

Having heard what he needed, Metal Greymon bid Jesmon goodbye and made his way back through the island to his abode.

Many a digimon stopped him to wish him a good day or greet him. Magna Garurumon invited him to spar to try and gain a win over him for once, their record was now twenty three to zero in Metal Greymon's favour. Piedmon who stayed not far from him alongside Metal Seadramon and Machinedramon invited him to come see the show he was going to put on later for Nyaromon, the latest digimon born from a digi-egg was left in his care, as were most newly born digimon when not being cared for by their master.

He was great with children.

His abode, at the very centre of the island right next to Rasenmon's, the digimon who had been around the longest here besides himself was a very large structure, with a large fountain out at the front and range of meat growing trees to keep him satiated.

He was just glad Lilthmon's home was not anywhere near his. The gaggle of visitors that crowded around her abode when they were granted entry near every day was a pain, despite the constant rejections she dealt out.

His masters allies were very helpful during the beginning of their journey but it could not be denied that many of their digimon allies were idiotic fools.

She was dutiful and devoted to their master alone. A good ally to have with her varied abilities as support, her power to heal all of her own allies was quite vital in a few very hard battles.

Still, he liked his peace and quiet, so living near her would be absurdly annoying.

Metal Greymon sighed in relief as he entered his abode and very nearly collapsed into the middle of it to rest. His mood was quite drained today.

And the root cause of it all was his second in command, Jesmon. Metal Greymon was level one hundred and fifty, the highest he could reach. His powers were enhanced to the limit and his master had toiled long and hard to get him to this point, despite his immense disappointment with Metal Greymon's inability to reach the mega level. Atop that, his master had spent long days into obtaining items with the best compatibility with Metal Greymon himself to boost all of his abilities to greater heights.

Despite that, the gap between his strength and that of the mere level ninety nine Jesmon was tiny.

His master planned to soon help Jesmon break through his limits like he had for Metal Greymon once upon a time and breach into the hundreds. And once he did, even without specifically suited items amplifying his power, Jesmon would soon vastly surpass Metal Greymon and become the strongest digimon under their masters command.

It was petty to be envious of his loyal comrades strength and feel stinging resentment flare within him. But, he could not help it.

So these were the feelings that allowed Malo Myotismon to cultivate the dark spores, huh? Metal Greymon could understand why those human children were so desperate back during his first life and so easily swayed by the Dark Spores.

It was ironic to long for a form he once abhorred to please his master. He sought the meaning of his life then when he was Black Wargreymon, but now that he had found it and lost that form, he desperately wanted it again.

Yet, it could not be so. For he lacked the potential to become the digimon his master wanted above all else.

And it made Metal Greymon's chest ache.

It could not be helped though. As Black Wargeymon, his life was cold and lonely. When he gave it up, he awoke as Botamon and was warm and cared for. Soon he was Pagumon and then Black Agumon. How ironic it was to him at the time. It seemed even in his new life he was destined to be the polar opposite of Agumon the one who reached out to him before all others.

And how ironic was it that his master knew of his past life, though not that it was he that was Black Wargreymon. And that his former self was his masters most favourite digimon of all!

Before long, he was Black Greymon and then finally Metal Greymon. And that was where his evolution ended. But, despite his masters disappointment, he did not give up on him. He raised him to the pinnacle of strength he could reach, to the point where he had surpassed many a mega digimon and vastly outstripped his former selves strength.

And for a time, he was satisfied. Even before he breached into the hundreds, when he was a mere ninety nine alongside the likes of Vikemon yet was still stronger, his head was held with pride.

But that time was long gone now. The smart thing to do for his master would be to make Jesmon his partner instead of him, he would have much easier times in battle and accomplish more, but his master never cast him aside.

Such loyalty!

And it burned Metal Greymon that he could not live up to that loyalty. As Agumon and the other partnered digimon of his last life had for their partners.

...If only he could digivolve!

Metal Greymon sighed, eyes closing. 'I must sleep and rid myself of these feelings.' he told himself.

Before he did something silly like try to absorb the power of the Spiral Digimon to make himself more powerful.

Just as he was about to force himself to rest though. An odd sound echoed through his ears. It sounded like fabric ripping at the same time as ocean waves crashing upon a shore.

Startled, Metal Greymon's eyes shot open and he leapt to his feet. And his eyes widened as he saw the cause of the noise. A rip in the air opened up right in front of him and pulled apart like a pair of curtains to reveal a glowing void of roiling green.

"...What is this?!" Metal Greymon snarled, bringing his claw to bare and preparing a set of missiles in his chest.

If this was an enemy attempting to breach his masters domain, he would blow them out of existence.

His eyes went even wider as a ghostly apparition appeared before him floating in the middle of the rift in space. One he recognised even!

A huge humanoid digimon clad in chrome digizoid armour of red and blue, a large golden arc hovering behind its back.

Susanoomon. An ultra level digimon that he had did battle with once before, Though as a Spiral Digimon. It had been an incredible foe, perhaps the deadliest till this day. An enemy that had taken not only he and Jesmon together, but alongside all of the mega level digimon under their masters command at once to bring down.

Himself, Jesmon, Sleipmon, Gallantmon, Piedmon, Machinedramon, Metal Seadramon, Venom Myotismon, Metal Etemon, Lilthmon, Valkyriemon, Boltmon, Minervamon, Diaboromon, Hercules Kabuterimon, Gran Kuwagamon, Magna Garurumon, Boltmon, Vikemon, Plesiomon, Serapihmon, Ebemon, Ravemon and Rasenmon.

It took his own power alongside that of twenty three powerful mega level digimon to bring it down before it could breach the barrier around their island.

The coverings over his chest slid open on instinct and the Giga Destroyer missiles were brought out. But, just as he was about to fire, the Susanoomon raised one hand up, palm facing him.

"Wait, please," it pleaded, "I come in peace."

"Likely story," Metal Greymon snorted, not stowing his missiles away, "If you come in peace, why did you force your way through the barrier into my masters domain?" he demanded.

"To speak with you," Susanoomon replied easily, and despite having opened the rift into his masters domain, it did not step out of it, "A great evil has fallen upon one of the digital worlds and if it is not stopped, all dimensions will be in danger."

....Of course. Why else?

"A sad tale," Metal Greymon did not bat an eye, "But it does not concern me. My only desires are to fight for my master."

"Not even to protect your master?" Susanoomon's head cocked to the side, "He is in direct targeting range of this threat. Should this darkness succeed, your masters world will be destroyed and he along with it."

In an instant, Metal Greymon's eyes narrowed, a burning fury building up within him so intense deep blue and black flames flickered within his huge maw, "Who?!" he demanded.

Whoever this fool was, if they dared to target his master he would erase them from existence.

"Bagramon," Susanoomon replied and the named resounded ominously in Metal Greymon's ears, "Come, quickly. I am but a shade and cannot hold these portals open long and can only take two along with me, I am here for you and Jesmon. A human general has already been chosen for the two of you to serve under and defeat Bagramon together."

Metal Greymon made to step forward when he was urged quickly, but stopped when the full meaning of what the interloper said to him was understood.

"...Server under another human, and not my master?" Metal Greymon's lips drew up into a sneer, "I refuse!"

His partner and master was Yarden and Yarden alone. He would serve no other.

"...You...refuse? The fate of multiple universes are at stake...and you refuse the call?" Susanoomon outright gaped at Metal Greymon's audacity.

"I will never betray my masters loyalty, I will serve only him!" The cyborg dinosaur digimon spat. It was Yarden, his master that finally gave him purpose and let him feel warm. He absolutely refused to step upon that loyalty in any way.

As far as he was concerned, even entertaining the possibility was to tarnish that loyalty.

Susanoomon grimaced, "You are a fool," the ultra level digimon replied, shaking its head, "You were chosen because of your potential. your strength as a mere metal greymon is absurd, should you bond with a more fitting partner and be digivolved through their power, you could perhaps single handedly drive back the Bagra Army that even defeated the Demon Lords and Royal Knights alongside myself!"

"You want to use the power my master cultivated for another!?" Metal Greymon's fury rose even higher and the missiles in his chest trembled! He dared to imply his master was unworthy?! "Begone fool! Lest I blow you out of existence!"

He was not wrong. He knew with how protective Agumon was of his partner, he would be similarly furious of someone tried to get in between that bond and foist him upon another while insulting his partner at the same time!

With that alone he knew his feelings were correct!

Susanoomon grimaced visibly, "..This is your final answer?" the ultra level digimon asked.

Metal Greymon bared his huge, sharp teeth, "Unless you have the power to bring my master, I refuse, and you insult me by even daring to ask such a foolish question!"

Susanoomon sighed, slumping slightly, "...How foolish, with you and Jesmon under the new chosen, my spirit could rest easy," it lamented, before raising its head and looking Metal Greymon in the eyes, "Very well, you say you will only serve your master? Then Jesmon cannot come, but your master shall!"

Metal Greymon's amber eyes widened at the abrupt change of tone, "What?!" he demanded.

Susanoomon held its hand out once again at his demand and within it a strange white device appeared, looking almost like a mobile phone, the device that his master interacted with him and the other digimon through.

But despite his very limited sensing powers in this form, he could feel a deep power from within it.

...A digivice!?

"Do not regret your choices Metal Greymon." Susanoomon warned ominously before a flash of light erupted from the devices screen and Metal Greymon found himself being pulled towards it.

The suction power was easy to resist though with his strength, "..Is that i-?" Metal Greymon began to ask confused.

Only for Susanoomon to raise its other hand and before Metal Greymon's eyes another rift formed within the rift beside Susanoomon.

And through it, sitting at a computer, he could see his master, Yarden!

The sudden shock was enough that Metal Greymon stopped resisting for just a moment and a second later he was pulled up from his feet into the rift and absorbed into the strange digivice.

                                                                                     __________

Yarden Odhar leaned back in his chair, a pot noodle in hand and a bottle of buckfast sitting beside him. The teen was having a nice relaxing weekend with school out.

He chuckled as the youtube video playing in front of him on his computer screen continued on and a guy on a skateboard performing tricks fell mid-trick and landed crotch first on a pole.

Not really his planned night, but it was pissing of rain so he couldn't really go out with the lads and party it up at the local park as they had planned after football last night.

But eh, he could still have a drink himself. He had wasted the money to get that hobo to buy him a few bottles after all.

A ringing ding from his phone sitting on the desk beside his computer drew his eyes and he placed the pot noodle down to grab it. It was a specific alert set to let him know when any of his gacha accounts had gotten their full energy again.

He turned it on and input his password and grinned when he noticed it was the Digimon Re-Arise account that had gotten all of its energy back. He mentally pulled a fist as he went to the pull the app up.

He'd finally gotten enough materials to break through to the hundred levels with his Jesmon and would soon have enough battle points to buy both of the plug ins for it.

Once he did, he'd be dealing out even more damage with it. Which was amazing considering it already pretty much one shot most lower level raid bosses and could solo mid-tier ones.

Just as he was about to though, a flicker of green in the corner of his vision caught his attention and he looked up to his computer screen. His mouth dropped wide open as it flickered with a sudden green tint, "What the fu-"

He was cut off as it surged out of his screen like liquid goop and spread around him. He tried to jerk back on instinct, but it was too fast and he was swept up off of his chair.

He flailed and kicked in a panic, only to stop a moment later gaze in utter stupefied awe as figure phased into view before him.

A gigantic humanoid in red and blue armour, easily a good fifty feet tall and stood towered above him. His limbs went limp, but his lips did not, "...What the absolutely fuck!?" Yarden gaped at what was literally a digimon, Susanoomon at that.

He recognised it. How could he not? He had watched Digimon Frontier quite a few times. And not only because Zoe as Kazemon was one hot piece of ass.

"Yarden Odhar, master of Metal Greymon, you have been chosen to defeat the Bagra Army." Susanoomon spoke up in a deep voice that seemed to echo all around him, commanding his attention.

Master of what? Chosen to defeat fucking what?! What the fuck was a Bagra Army, "And who the fuck decided that you dildo headed motherfucker?" Yarden shouted up at the huge digimon.

Amazing and shit as it was, and as fearful as he was. Instinct led to anger, anger led to rage. And rage led to him mouthing off and insulting whatever was causing those feelings in him.

Susanoomon sighed, "...Just as difficult as the partner, truly made for each other," it shook its head before glaring down at him, "Sadly for you Yarden Odhar, your compliance is not a factor. The last of my power has been put into bringing you and Metal Greymon here and creating the Fusion Loader, there is no going back save for defeating Bagramon and his army. Fail, and you will die. That is all."

It flew completely over Yarden's head. He didn't know even a lick of what was going on here. It almost sounded like some bullshit digi-destined stuff. It was fucking absurd, but here he was, "Eat shit bitch!" he stuck the finger up at Susanoomon.

Susanoomon's eyes narrowed, but instead of replying, its eyes flashed and Yarden found his body rising into the air making him swallow heavily.

...Now that he thought about it, mouthing off to the digimon that he saw literally cut the digital world in half might not have been the best idea.

When he rose up to eye level with Susanoomon there was another flash of light and a strange white device appeared in front of him, "With this, you are now a general in your own right, fool. Try not to get in the proper chosen's way now." Susanoomon snorted and phased out of existence, leaving Yarden alone floating in a green void and a strange device floating in front of him.

...The fuck? Was that a fucking digivice?

Now alone, Yarden felt himself start to tremble as the heavy feeling disappeared from around his body and he found himself able to move again. Hesitantly, he lifted his arm up and grasped the possible digivice.

As he did, a rushing sensation shot through his body making his heart thud painfully, information flowed into his brain and the possible digivice erupted with silver light, transitioning from blank white to a gleaming silver.

And then he was falling.
