"So why are we here then?" Ruki asked after a few moments.

"This is where I let my digimon stay when I'm not in here," you replied.

"So there are digimon in here,"  the redhead concluded with an exited grin, she looked around as if searching for any digimon in the area, "So then, where are they?"

In your digivice, you wanted to show off and you didn't quite feel this was the place to do it, Kowloon would be best where they could show off their badass power. "In my digivice," you teased, wiggling it in your hand, "But we're not here to let you meet my digimon, we're here to give you a digimon because I can't just take you down to Kowloon without one to protect you." sure it was quite hypocritical considering you did just that, but while Ruki is a fit girl, you highly doubt she had the strength and fighting ability to beat a rookie digimon down on her own like you yourself had been able to.

"..Wait," she blinked, "You're just going to get me a digimon, just like that?" Ruki asked, looking at you in a bit of astonishment.

"Sure, I could have given you one anywhere, I just figured this would be less stressful than Kowloon for an in-training." you replied. She went to open her mouth, but you held up a finger and stopped her and instead went through your digivce.

You've got enough digimon and eggs at this point, and you already decided on one you were fine with parting with. A few buttons here and there, and Ruki jumped as her digivice let out a ding noise as it received both the Tokomon egg and the egg hatching program.

"A Tokomon egg?" Ruki asked, with brows furrowed the moment she saw it on her digivice, "But that's an in-training, they're supposed to hatch at the baby level."

"I'll explain it all to you later," you told her, "For now, why don't you bring the egg out and run the program I just sent you to hatch it."

She looked at you dubiously for a few moments before shaking her head, "Well whatever," Ruki dismissed her concerns before following your instructions. "Woah!" she gasped as a large white egg with yellow rings appeared in her hands, and immediately began to hatch as soon as she ran the program you sent her.

The things you do for hot girls man. Nobody even sold the program for hatching eggs, they were jealously guarded for reasons you didn't know of and so you had to code it yourself, it had taken you over a week and here you were just handing it to her for free.

                                                                                                            __________

"Hello, I'm Tokomon!" the white chomper chirped the second it hatched and laid eyes on Ruki.

"Right.." she trailed off, shooting you a look. You gave her a shooing motion telling her to get on with it. "Well, I suppose I'm Ruki, your tamer, well for now at least, you being strong enough to be my digimon remains to be seen."

Tokomon blinked and tilted its head to the side cutely, "I don't get it," it replied, before grinning show off razor sharp teeth, "But if it's a fight we're talking about I'll play, it sounds fun!"

"Well, at least you're enthusiastic." Ruki replied with a raised eyebrow. She turned to you next, "Now what Hayato?"

"Now we head to Kowloon," you said, "I'll help you get Tokomon at least up to a Rookie today so I can at least not have to find the need to constantly hang over your shoulder." if you get that Tokomon a large load of data, then when it digivolved it would be much stronger than the average rookie.

Her face scrunched up into something almost like a glare, "You talk as if digivolving is something easy to accomplish." Ruki near growled.

What's up with her?

"For a good tamer?" you began, shrugging your shoulders, "Getting to the champion level is something any mid-tier tamer should be able to accomplish with their digimon, hell there's tons of crappy tamers running around with Champion's because they just bought weak ones."

"You can buy digimon!?" Ruki shouted, mouth dropping in shock and eyebrows raising into her hairline.

                                                                                                    ____________

When you transferred over to Kowloon Level 1, with Ruki tagging along behind you, you were quite surprised.

Few people ever hung out at the entrance teleporter to Kowloon, and usually just a few posturing morons trying to look tough.

What you found though, was a crowd hanging around the teleporter. With quite a few Zaxxon members mixed in.

"What's going on here?" you wondered, looking at quite a few people trying to push through the crowd to get to the exit. No doubt people that didn't have the Gate skill.

"I thought this place was supposed to be filled with tough ass hackers?" Ruki snorted.

"The bottom of the barrel in that group, but still true to a degree." you replied. Seeing a Zaxxon member standing at the back of the crowd, seemingly on guard you beckoned Ruki to follow and made your way over to him.

"Hey dude, what's happening here?" you questioned him.

He cast a look over his shoulder towards the door to the next area before sighing, "There was a Data Eater running around a little while ago," he answered letting out a deep sigh, "Ended up catching one guy, and as soon as it was gone a bunch of strong ass digimon showed up, only one champion amongst them but it massacred a bunch of our digimon and let a few of the rookie's it had with it absorb the data, so now they're tough as hell as well."

"What's a Data Eater?" Ruki asked in curiosity.

You grimaced. A Data Eater, you'd heard of them and even seen a few pictures of them. You'd never seen one in person, but the general consensus was that if you ended up caught by one, you'd probably end up a victim of Eden Syndrome and end up in a coma, a body without a mind. And whenever they appeared, scores of digimon usually followed not far behind.

"Monsters," you told her succinctly, "They're like glitch programs that if they end up catching you in here, somehow destroy your avatar and make it so your mind can't get back to your body, leaving you pretty brain dead."

Her violet eyes flew open wide, "What!?" Ruki gasped, "This place is that dangerous?"

"First timer?" the Zaxxon member asked you. When you nodded he sighed again, "Well, try not to go after them just to show off to your girlfriend here, I'm the boss in charge of the group on this level and that freaky Guardromon almost destroyed my digimon as well, would have if I hadn't brought it back to my digivice and booked it back here - just sit tight for now, I've already sent a message to boss Yuugo and he said he'll come sort this out soon."

Yuugo huh? You'd met him in passing and while he was a bit odd, you couldn't deny the power he had. Especially since he had a freaking Machinedramon that happily wagged its massive tail for him like an eager little puppy.

Would be a waste of data though. A champion that strong should definitely be enough to get DemiDevimon to the champion level. With both Black Greymon and Garurumon you could take it right?

The only possible problem you supposed, is if the Eater is still around. Even you don't want to tangle with one of those, they have a history for taking down three man squads of champion's alone.

"Well, don't worry about it," you told the Zaxxon member, "My digimon are strong enough take on any champion no matter how strong it is."

The guy sighed, "Well don't say I didn't warn you."

You turned to Ruki, "This is a bit a of a scale above what you should really take part in here, so why don't you just head back to my server for now and hang out with Tokomon a bit?"

The redhead scowled, "No way," she denied, steeping forward to poke a finger into your chest, "You promised to get Tokomon into a Rookie, and I'm not leaving until then, got it?"

You didn't actually promise anything though?

You sighed, "Fine, but as soon as Tokomon becomes a rookie, you're leaving alright?" you conceded. Best not to argue with it for now. It should be easy enough, just delete one of the rookie's for her Tokomon and it should get enough to hit rookie itself.

She had the audacity to smirk, "I'm fine with that."

Well, if she wanted to play it that way. Bringing up your digivice, you pulled up your Gate skill and sent it to her digivice. She raised an eyebrow when her digivice beeped and she looked over the received skill, "What's this for?"

"That cost me a hundred thousand yen," you pointed out in a deadpan, "I'm giving it to you so I can rest easy knowing you can escape danger here whenever you want."

Well, really the only thing you're losing out on is some sleep. Every skill you have you've already analyzed and learned how to code to make yourself in case something ever happened to your current skill.

Ruki's face actually flushed red at the admission and she hurriedly ducked her eyes out of the way of yours for a moment, "Stupid gogglehead," she grumbled.

Oh-ho! What a tsundere like thing to do!

Sending her one last grin, you stepped out into an open part of the platform and raised your digivice into the air, "Reload, Garurumon!" you called out.

And then there he was, towering, beastly and badass.

"Holy shit!" Ruki gasped the moment your third digimon appeared, having apparently recovered from her shyness quickly "You actually do have Champion level, I thought you were just talking shit, and an honest to god Garurumon at that!"

Garurumon bent down low enough for you to swing up on his back and you held a hand out to Ruki with a grin, "How about I take you for a ride?"

The redheaded girl recovered from her shock at seeing Garurumon quite quickly and sent a raised eyebrow your way, "You already passed up the chance to ride me earlier, remember?" she taunted back, but took your hand and let you pull her up onto Garurumon's back behind you, where she immediately circled her arms around your waist to hold on and you felt her large squishy breasts squash up against your back. "The offer is still on the table you know, I'm a fair person who always pays back favours after all."

You rolled your eyes, "Haha," you mock laughed, "You know Ruki, even my self control has it limits, you won't be so smug if I actually snap and take you up on that offer."

It was a very low tier threat, hardly even one and both of you knew it. It sounded lame even in your ears.

Ruki laughed, "Obviously, it's pretty hard to be smug if you're mating pressed into an ahegao." she taunted.

God damn she just won't let that go.

"Let's go!" you ordered and Garurumon shot off like a bullet.

Ruki screamed in your ear and held tighter around you. A moment later though she was whooping in your ear in excitement, not that you blamed her, the butterflies in your stomach almost had you joining her. As it was, you still, laughed in glee.

In seconds you were into the next area, almost like the blink of an eye that was just how fast your digimon was.

Less than fifteen seconds later, you were all in the next room, and two blurs jumped in the way of Garurumon, a cry of "Halt!" assaulting your ears.

Garurumon bowled right over them before them before he could even realise they were there. He put the brakes on immediately and skidded along for a good ten feet before managing to stop.

Two groaning digimon lay on the ground groaning in pain. One a Mushroomon, the other looked like a Hagurumon, but orange and gold in colour instead of gold and black

Perfect. They literally came to you, now you could get Ruki done and dusted before sending her on her way.

"Garurumon take them out!" you barked out an order in an instant.

"Right boss!" Garurumon nodded his head, before pulling it back, blue flames sizzling in his mouth, "Howling Blaster!" the giant wolf digimon howled, spitting the wave of blue flames at the two downed digimon and deleting them from existence within seconds.

Two sets of data spread out into the air, one set purple, the other gold. Lovely, you could just split it evenly with her, just one would be enough to get her Tokomon to a rookie level digimon.

"There we go," you turned and grinned at her.

Ruki blinked in astonishment, "Damn that was fast," she whistled again, "Not even Re- I mean the games can you take digimon out that fast."

Jumping off of Garurumon's back, you held your arm out to help Ruki get gown herself, only for her to roll her eyes and jump down herself.

"So now what?" she asked, eyeing the two separate coloured sections of data floating above you all.

Grinning, you pulled out your digivice and held it up, "Nyaromon, reload!" you called out, bringing out your little golden kitten, "What else? I'm gonna have Nyaromon here absorb Mushroomon's data, while you have Tokomon take that gold data from the Hagurumon look alike."

"It was a Solarmon," Ruki corrected you, before pulling out her own digivice, "And you really think just absorbing this data is going to make it digivolve?" she asked as she released her digimon.

"Oooh pretty," Tokomon gushed looking up at the purple and gold sprinkling through the air.

"A massive influx of data in comparison their current strength is enough to make a digimon digivolve," you replied, "It's pretty straight forward up to Champion, then it'll get way more difficult."

You turned your attention to Nyarumon who looked at you in curiosity, "On you go, absorb the purple data little lady and digivolve." you ordered.

She nodded gracefully, "Very well," she replied. Closing her eyes, the in training kitten began to draw the purple data towards her body, sucking it inside her.

"You to munchkin," Ruki ordered, poking Tokomon with her foot.

"Weee!" Tokomon hollered giddily and absorbed the golden data from the Solarmon.

"Nyarumon digivolve to....Salamon!"

Tokomon digivolve to.....Tukaimon!"

Seconds later, both erupted into bright white light and like you'd seen quite a few times before, both began to get bigger and their bodies began to morph, and when the white light died down, two entirely different existences stood in their places.

A purple pig with bat wings for ears.

And the cutest little puppy there ever damn was.

"You're kidding me." Ruki deadpanned, looking at her new pig that was currently happily flitting about the air with his ear wing...things. ".."Right?" she turned to you and there was uncertainty in her eyes.

"There's gotta be some trick to this," she shook her head before asking another question, "How did you digivolve your Garurumon to the Champion level?"

It seemed to be pretty important to her.

"I loaded him up on tons of data," you responded, "And to actually trigger the digivolution I fed him the data of two extremely powerful champion digimon."

She bit her lip, "T-thats-"

"Destruction Grenade!" an echoing voice rang throughout the area and suddenly there was a pair of high pitched whistles cutting through the air.

"Boss!" Garurumon howled.

Turning, your eyes went wide as you took in the form of a golden Guardromon at the other end of the large platform, and two missiles slicing through the air towards you and Ruki.

Your digivice came out and you returned Salamon in an instant. And then you thrust your hand out, pushing Ruki with all the enhanced strength you had on this server, sending her flying into Tukaimon and throwing both out of the way.

You threw both arms up over your head to guard your face, having no time to dodge. A massive lupine shadow threw itself into the air above you though and took both missiles, blocking the attacks.

Garurumon howled loudly in pain and the ensuing explosion threw him up over your head and sent soaring for dozens of feet before he crashed hard against one of the platform walls dozens of feet away, cratered it and fell to the ground.

"My brothers," the Guardromon began, another pair of missiles loading atop its outstretched arms, "I have lost communications with my brothers, what have you done to them!?"

Usually you would feel bad. This thing seemed to genuinely care about those two digimon you just killed. But you aren't the good guy. You aren't even the anti-hero type.

And this thing not only nearly killed Ruki, but also hurt YOUR Garurumon.

"YoU.." you snarled at it, blood pounding in your ears and rage beating in your heart. "Black Greymon, KILL IT!" you roared, swinging your digivice through the air and calling forth your second champion.

Black Greymon burst into existence a roar of rage that shook the world around you and flames already pooled in his mouth, "Mega Flame!"

The torrent of compressed flames smashed into the golden robot digimon before it could react and pushed it up against a wall, burning away at it.

But after taking a moment to regain its balance, it actually waded through the sea of flames like it was actually water and raised its arms up, "Destruction Grenade!" it called again, firing both missiles.

At you.

Black Greymon roared and stepped into the path of both, taking them both in the chest. But even as the explosion rattled him, the massive dinosaur was already using his giant and heavy frame to push through and rush towards the robotic digimon.

Seeing your digimon managing for the moment, you turned to Garurumon already lumbering to his feet, a snarl leaving his lips.

You thrust your digivice and activated the newest digimon skill you obtained from Socerimon, "Crystal Heal!" you declared, and a cyan blue light covered Garurumon, some of his wounds fading.

"Help Greymon!" you shouted at him, and it was a testament to how much your digimon obeyed you that he didn't even bother aknowledging the command and just blitzed towards the fighting duo of digimon.

That done, you turned to Ruki who was tightly griping Tukaimon to her chest, eyes wide and arms trembling. "If that hit us.." she trailed of despondently.

"Ruki, use that skill I gave you and go!" you ordered her.

She looked at you wide eyed, "B-but-"

"Go!" you barked, cutting her off, "I don't wanna see you get hurt here, let me handle it!"

Her lip trembled for a moment, before she bit a lip into it and settled on nodding. "F-fine!" she grunted. She brought the digivice up about to activate the skill and paused, pinning you with violet coloured glare, "Don't go dying on me gogglehead, I'm looking forward to shooting you down when you ask me out."

You rolled your eyes, "As if I'd die to a weakling like this." you shot back easily. She huffed, sending you one last concerned look, before activating the Gate skill and disappearing from the Kowloon server.

You turned back, just in time to see Garurumon release a wave of ice along the floor, freezing part of the ground and Guardromon's legs, forcing it to get stuck as it tried to turn and fired its missiles at Black Greymon.

"Grey Claw!" Black Greymon roared, taking advantage and slamming a glowing clawed hand into Guardromon's side and ploughing its back into the ground so hard even you almost got thrown off of your feet.

But he wasn't done there. As soon as he smashed the robot digimon down, flames were already spilling from his mouth, "Mega Flame!" he followed up with, basting the golden Guardromon in a point blank devastation of flames.

They spilled out all around them, Black Greymon even burning himself in the attack he was that intent on attacking and Garurumon was forced to retreat backwards.

Perfect, this was your chance.

Lifting your digivice up, you aimed it at the downed Guardromon and activated the Copy and Paste program. A program of your own making that took you months to get done and based on the digimon's ability to load data of defeated foes and obtain their skills.

A moment later, it was done. If there was one thing the digivices were good for, it was their sheer speed.

Looking into the screen, you were a bit disappointed to see that the only thing it managed to copy and create though, was a slimmer pair of the Guardromon's armored arms, a pair of golden Chrome Digizoid gauntlets.
