That was my question. Sounds like he doesn’t have the installed charger but even the normal outlet slow charger can get you at least 20% overnight. The only thing I could think of is maybe he lives in an apartment and didn’t want to hang an extension cord out his window.

I would like to say that regenerative braking works by taking the electric motors and making them work in reverse, and instead of moving the car, it charges the battery. It only works on the lightest braking, and it happens instead of braking early on. So it does increase the lifetime of your brakes by a very significant amount along with the fact that it charges your battery. Donut Media has a great video on it.
