Nobody expects temple tentacles (Patreon)

Lara's story continues. At this point, we know a lot about the guardian of the temple, but what about the deity to which the temple is dedicated? What lies in the depths beneath the temple?

I worked on several things this week, so let us follow a proper order. I started by re-rendering a few scenes from the past few weeks. I created them using Eevee, Blender's fast, videogame-like rendering engine. 

I have replaced them with scenes made in Cycles, Blender's slow, ray-tracing engine. One scene can take a day or more to render, but the light looks much better. See the pictures above and below for comparison.

Then I continued Lara's story. There is a new, long X-ray scene in which the guardian breaks through Lara's "back door". After that, the guardian checks Lara once more, and the "egg" inside Lara hatches.

So, what does the egg actually do? You'll see that in both X-rays and normal scenes outside. The exterior scenes are largely complete. The "Big Egg" X-rays are mostly static for now and will not be properly animated until next week, as I've been trying to work on too many things at once this week.

The new video ends with several screens from the final part of Lara's story, where the "greater thing" awakens. You can see some of it in the pictures in this post. I will work on this part next week as well.

For now, everything I've listed here is contained in one new video called 'Lara's Story Continues - w.i.p.' Wip stands for work-in-progress; this video will eventually merge with Lara's main video.
