A question I get asked a lot is if there will be different breeds of horses in this game and if yes, what breeds? The answer to that question is.. Sort of.

Since the game revolves around realistic english riding, mainly showjumping and cross country (dressage is still a question mark), I want to keep the game horses looking like the kind of horses that are best suited for those sports in real life. Therefore they all need to be warmbloods or other related breeds like thoroughbred, hanoverian, trakehner, selle francais, quarter or connemara. Having an Irish Cob jumping FEI level shows would be absurd if you want to keep the game feeling realistic in any way.

So there will be some variety of different breeds in the game, but since the sporty breeds look very similar the difference between the horses will be subtle. In the pictures you can see an example of what I mean. The dark one is a bit slimmer and sportier whereas the palomino is thicker with a more pony type build. This alongside with slight variation in size, mane length, textures, and animations is as different as the horses get appearance wise.

I think a couple good horse breeds that you could include are: Irish Sport horses, Oldenburg's, Belgian/Dutch/Swedish/German Warmbloods and Cleveland Bay's
