Hey all!

With the first month of 2023 come and gone, I wanted to give a couple status updates on the current projects I'm working on, as well as my plans for the future.

Currently, I'm working hard on a commissioned sequence and animation, and while they're both well on their way to completion, I haven't made as much progress as I originally anticipated thanks to a surprise visit from the COVID fairy and me switching to a new day-job. That being said, I'm confident that both will be finished this month, and I'll have more time to dedicate to future projects!

As for future projects, I want to get back in to the animation groove. Lately I've been posting a lot of Pin-Ups and Sequences, and while I do enjoy making those from time to time, it's been a while since I've got to stretch those animation muscles and continue practicing character motion. I've got one animation queued up at the moment, and I've got several ideas bouncing around for animations after that. Most of the recent content I've worked on has either been part of an event (Nerf This Nov), a Pin-Up Poll, or a commission, and while I love to bring your ideas to life, I do miss the random spurts of inspiration where I can take an idea and run with it. The Pin-Up polls aren't going anywhere (in fact one will be posted tomorrow), but I'll be keeping new commissions closed for this month. I'm hoping that this will help me come up with new ideas and keep me learning new things, and I won't be feeling guilty/rushed to work on a specific project.

So what does this mean for the future? In short, there'll probably be a lot more one-off projects and short animations. I'll look to post more WIPs of these non-commission projects, and by keeping projects shorter I'll be able to get a lot more focused practice on certain animation aspects (natural motion, expression, reactions, squishy expansion, etc). Commissions will definitely re-open at some point, but I want to set aside some time to make projects that I have more agency over. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep the content fresh, and I'm honestly really excited to get back to the 'why not?' animation projects that got me started on this crazy journey.

Thanks!
