He would probably continue the attack anyway. If he seriously thought he could take the Grand Templar's home, especially someone as known for both their magical prowess and cruel tendencies as Trace, I don't think there's anything in the world that would make him call it off. He's incredibly greedy, isn't known to keep his word and is a purveyor of magical artifacts, something Trace's manor has in spades.

I really like how Tom handled this character. Finally an author that gets that using metamorphosis to punish someone will NOT result in any "lesson learned" or "funny karmic punishment". Just make him/her EXTREMELY bitter, VERY vengeful, and DEADLY determinate in getting revenge and his body back at any cost. And no chance in hell he forgets, takes this as a "humble pie" or let go of the grudge, cause thanks to you he's experiencing dysmorphia AND dysphoria every second of his life (ask transexuals, that stuff is just HELL), making him go from "I kill and steal for money" to "I'll rip of your guts and shove them down your lovers' throat in the name of revenge". And betraying the whole wolf kingdom with that (by making with the templars a dangerous deal he was sure was gonna blow up in his face just to have his real body back; a risk he would have never taken if he hadn't been so desperate thanks to the curse). In short: Nora ruined everything for the wolves, the tigers, the templars' enemies, maybe our heroes too in the near future and probably the rest of the world because she felt like being funny...

I think it's actually worse than that! I'm pretty sure that Clovis is the one who had Saria au Gruhen (Trace's wife) killed. It makes sense that Clovis would know to prevent the assassin who kills Saria from having his mind read by dragons since Saria, even before marrying Trace, was a high profile figure. This prevented Nora from figuring anything out. The motive also makes sense because in the lore Saria is leading an abolitionist movement against slavery and due to the argument between her and Trace about Trace purchasing a slave was "heard throughout the whole town" I'm guessing her movement wasn't really hidden. If Clovis figured out that someone was taking down his main line of trade, which is obviously sex slavery, then he would want her dead as soon as possible.
