"From destruction, rises rebirth."

A proverb from the Book of Many Faces.

You remember how your forest burned. The machines encroached, the trees ran through. In moments, your home had been paved over, your sanctuary removed.
Mere moments, then burning, then nothing. You could not understand. It was then that the many headed god spoke to you.
"From destruction, rises rebirth. That which is cut down will grow again, two-fold."

From the wastes grew life. The people would come, the people would live, the people would build. From the destruction, new existence had grown, a new head where one once stood.

A poor soul enters your domain, gravely wounded. The lawman seats themselves at your altar, clutching their side with great strain.
They require your assistance, and that assistance you provide. From destruction, you repair.`

The wound was the hand of an unknown assailant. The same who caused such chaos within the city.

The Many Headed God takes no sides. It speaks with countless voices, in countless tones. It looks upon the world from countless angles. Paladin, lawman… or assailant, rogue… all receive your blessing under this roof.

The lawman speaks. "That criminal… did they come through here?"
"It is not my place to tell you."
"They cannot go free. A dangerous saboteur, the damage they could cause…"
You close the wound, before gesturing towards the scaffolding surrounding your church.

This temple has suffered a great deal of damage over time. The upkeep is never complete. Through the blessings of the hydra, you continue to grow. An endless expansion, all that falls rises once more, more powerful and numerous.

That masked aggressor wishes upon the ruin of this city. Perhaps they will succeed, and perhaps not. Perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps the next. Whether they are right or wrong, you do not know.

What you do know is that one day this city will burn. Just as your forest fell, so too will the machines. The artificial lights will be extinguished, and from that darkness arises life anew, sprouting twofold.

So sayeth the Hydra. From destruction, rises rebirth.
