Update - Future Plans (10th Jun 2023) (Patreon)

Howdy friends!

Hope you're all keeping well.

So it's a little over two weeks since I published the SquareSoft video, and the response to it has been pretty crazy. A lot more comments and views than what I'm used to, especially in such a short space of time but I'm very appreciative of all the kind words and hope it lived up to your expectations! As I've said before it wasn't an easy project but I'm happy with how it turned out in the end.

So anyway, now that I've taken some time off to chill and unwind as well as take a brief trip back to Ireland for a friend's wedding. I'm back on my bullshit and ready to make some more videos and since we've got the "long video on popular games to help get the channel lotsa views" project out of the way, it's time to return to the niche PS1 content we all know and love.

That means next up we'll have Vol.14 of Obscure / Japan Only PS1 games back to back, with Obscure 14 currently in pre-production. I've got the four games picked and there are some cool ones in this episode, including a game that's been chosen by a whopping 4 people! Making it the most requested fan pick to appear in an episode yet, how exciting!

Now beyond the upcoming wheel videos, the next "big" project I have in mind, is something I've had simmering in the back of my head for a little while now. It's essentially going to be a video on the 'Worst PlayStation Games'

Although the idea is to determine what the internet, gamers, journalists, etc. think is the defacto worst 10 by researching as many top 10 videos and articles I can source on the subject, tallying up which games appear the most, and ranking them by the list placement and then from that we should have the ultimate top 10 list.

The plan from there is to then attempt to play through all 10 and see if they're actually as bad as the internet would have you believe. I think the internet has somewhat skewed the perception of what is really 'the worst of the worst' and a lot of people's picks and thoughts on this subject seem to come from a hive mind of sorts particularly with a North American focus, as most of these lists never include Japanese or PAL exclusive titles, even if the folks making this lists are sometimes from PAL regions.

So it'll be a part exploration of how the internet and word of mouth can label a game "the worst" (even if it doesn't necessarily deserve that title) and also a series of 10 reviews looking at said games from as neutral a standpoint as possible (meaning yes there is a Bubsy 3D review coming soon)

I'm not sure how much sense that all makes currently, but I've got the structure in my head and I think it'll make for a fun watch... maybe not the most fun experience for me to make but hey I'll take the pain as long as it entertains :)
