Howdy friends!

It's everybody's favourite beach jerk Sean Seanson, back again with another monthly update full of cat pictures and other less important information.

So as you're probably sick of hearing by now, I'm still hard at work on the big Capcom project! I'm delighted to say the most time-consuming part of the project has just come to an end, and that's capturing all the game footage.

In the last update, I mentioned we were looking at 78 games in total being covered. That number has now increased to 80!

The two additional games being covered are

-Arcade Gears: Wonder 3 (A Xing published and developed port of Capcom CPS2 3-in-1 one curio. Shoutout to Patreon member ILikePopCans for alerting me to this, much appreciated!)

-Ultimate Fighting Championship (The first ever UFC game, and one that was published by Capcom in Japan. Capcom held the publishing rights to most of the early UFC games in Japan, so if anybody ever asks you what your favourite Capcom fighter is? You can legitimately answer with UFC, so that's fun.)

There was a whole bunch of additional stuff I needed to record as well, some of Capcoms Dreamcast output, a bunch of the PS2 collections, The Gun Survivor games, etc. Needless to say, it's gonna be a long one but I will say out of all the videos I've done in this style, this was probably the most fun I had simply playing the games since a good 80% of these games have arcade roots and can be beaten in about an hour or two, and I legitimately think of the 80 games I played, only like 1 or 2 of them aren't very good? The rest all range from fun, to weird and novel, right down to some of the best and most influential games ever made, so in other words a solid month of playing hours of Capcom games every day actually turned out to be a good, almost spiritual experience in a way.

Sometimes you need to experience the best that video games have to offer, to help ignite the passion inside ya know. And Capcom is the kind of company that makes you fall in love with the medium of video games, so my goal from here is to try to express that passion, in visual form via 80 or so games condensed into one weird long video, as is tradition!

So from here on out the flow will be

-Write the script
-Record/edit my voiceover (really not looking forward to that)
-Create the graphics/thumbnail art
-Edit the whole thing together
-Drop a Capcom Club PlayStation mix roughly a week before the video is due to launch
-Launch the video, then sleep for a week

As life is still a bit up and down at the moment with boring IRL stuff keeping me busy, I can't really predict when it'll be ready, but I'm hoping for early June if everything goes well. I appreciate your continued patience while I work on these longer projects. Remember it may suck going without anything on the channel for a bit, but a good video is FOREVER (or until the internet dies, remember to download and back shit up!)

Other bits that might be of interest to you are

-Club Playstation Downloads

Starting from the Capcom ClubPlayStation mix, there will be an MP3 of the mix available here on Patreon to download and listen to how you please. I personally put them on mini-discs because there's nothing cooler than listening to PlayStation music on an obsolete format, but maybe that's just me. All past and future mixes will be uploaded too :)

-Podcasts/Radio/Stream Appearances

I recently made a few guest appearances in other things.

You can catch me alongside Majulaar and YourFavoriteSon in IFinishedAVideoGames 150K sub celebration, which was a lovely time - https://www.youtube.com/live/qV72WnCb2_s?si=69E4UO6XTCrWUP8O

I also appeared as a guest on IndiePocalypse radio, if you want to hear me talk about rocks and chicken fillet rolls amongst other exciting things. It was live-streamed last Saturday but should be up in pocast form on all related sites in the next week or so.

Likewise, I also appeared in two episodes of the HG101 podcast, which was a lovely little milestone for me as I'm a big fan of the HG101 website and Kurt's work in particular. One episode is about Pop'N Tanks and the other is about the crazy ambitious PAL exclusive, Terracon. They should also be out in the coming weeks, I will warn you though I recorded these episodes at like 3AM-5AM due to timezone differences and it was also 4/20 that day, so there's a good chance everything I said during these podcasts is complete nonsense due to me being in a lucid state/asleep, but hey you'll just have to listen in a find out!

-Capcom Loading Screen Dump

Also shortly after this post, I'll be making another Patreon post where I'll be dumping tons of loading screen images from Capcom PS1 games. Something I picked up on very quickly while playing these games is that Capcom's loading screen game during this era was insane. So I just started capturing pictures every chance I could get and since I doubt I'll be able to highlight them all during the video I might as well put em here, so I hope you enjoy them!

Anyway, that's about it from me for now. A huge thank you as always for your ongoing patience and support. I hope life is treating you all well, until next time.

Much love,
Sean

(Ps. enjoy the cats. they're very polite)

You rule Sean! Just went back and watched a bunch of your old vids when I was sick, they bring me lots of joy, ready to do it all over again already! Keep up the great work, your stuff really is special!

Thanks for the update! I'm super excited for the Capcom video - just recently finished watching your Squaresoft and Namco retrospectives which were fantastic. I'm also very curious to hear your thoughts on that Capcom board/card game you posted about recently on Twitter - the animations were shockingly good.
