Howdy friends,

I hope you're all keeping well and are ready for another mildly informative Patreon post with accompanying cat pictures (the real reason we're all here, but if you've made it this far you might as well keep reading!)

Since the last update, I've managed to get Vol.15 of Japan Only out onto the channel. I think it's the longest episode of that series so far mostly down to the double-length Brightis review, but overall it was a really fun episode to put together. I always think the Japanese exclusives are the most interesting games to cover, because beyond some of the crazy concepts these games are offering up, they're generally just a lot of fun to play through, so as far as episodes go it was a good time for me at least and I always feel if I had a good time playing it, then I'll have a good time writing/editing/talking about it, so I hope that comes across in the videos.

Anyway as for future plans, if you've read any of the last few updates you well know we're entering into another long video cycle, so that means it's time for a video on every Capcom PS1 game. I know this one is gonna take a while to put together, mostly down to the sheer number of games we'll be looking at, which as of writing is 78 Capcom Games. Which needless to say, is a lot of games.

Now I say 'as of writing' because I'm still confirming 78 is the total number I'm working with. It's easy to get a scoop on the majority of Capcom games on the net, mostly thanks to websites like Mobygames and Gamefaqs which I find generally offer the most complete developer lists, at least as far as English websites go. There's still a lot of blackspots involving Japanese exclusive titles, and while I believed I have all of them, I ended up finding a super obscure Capcom mahjong game recently by accident, which led me to believe there could well be even more out there, so the search is ongoing in the background but either way, I'm already in the process of captuing footage, so as it stands 78 is the number of games we'll be looking at, but don't be surprised if that number rises.

Here is the full list I have so far, in order of release. (keep in mind this list includes both Capcom-developed and published titles, so if you see any bizarre games in there, just assume Capcom published them in Japan.)

Now this list doesn't include reissues, variants and updates like Resident Evil Directors Cut / Dual Shock Edition, but rest assured they'll be mentioned in their various sections. So when I talk about Resident Evil, I'll highlight all version briefly.

I've also picked up a number of interesting bits and pieces to talk about during the video, including another segment looking at Japanese disc art and box variants, and also a little segment on the PocketStation which should be fun.

It's gonna be a big effort, but I know it's also going to be a lot of fun. I mean let's be real the idea of playing a ton of Capcom games isn't the worst faith in the world, is it? I know some people have asked about the idea of splitting the project into two videos to get it out a little quicker, but I just prefer a singular complete work, it allows me greater range in controlling the flow and narrative of the video so even though it'll take longer, it will make for a better overall video IMO.

Other than that, I'm mostly just putting my head down and trying to keep busy. I'm limiting my time on social media at the moment, just to avoid procrastination mostly but it doesn't hurt to take a little break from time to time either, It's good for the aul head!

If you're still checking in on the list of every PS1 game that I'm putting together, I've almost reached the end of the Letter 'I' in the Japanese library. Even at this stage, it is well over 1000 games deep, and there's some incredible stuff in there. So take a look, have a search by developer or genre, and just check out a game that sounds cool. You'll be amazed at what you find.

Anyway, that's about it for now! I'd just like to let you know I'm doing good and I'm looking forward to getting more videos out to you as quickly as possible.

A big big thank you as always for your continued support, It's always a pleasure to make videos for you and share these games with the world, so I appreciate you for allowing me to do that. (and keeping me fed with crisps)

Much love and I'll chat with you again real soon!

Sean

Thanks for the update Sean, very excited for the capcom video also. Since i like doing monotonous tasks i searched the PlayStation DataCenter site for PS1 capcom games and I think you can add Three Wonders/Arcade Gears - Wonder 3 to the capcom list but sorry if you already know about it.

Sean Seanson

Ah, Wonder 3 of course! That seems like a really obvious one too, I know the game well but wasn't aware it got an Arcade Gears release. Great work, you're sparring me from a snide comment or two down the line haha

The coverage of Brightis is excellent - definitely a game I'm interested in playing through. Looking forward to the Capcom vid, that's going to be massive.

Every Capcom game is absolutely insane. So stoked to hear your thoughts on MML!
