Food in the Desert (Patreon)

Narakyians are voracious meat eaters so most of their food centres around various types of animals hunted in the Endless Sands. They cook on huge scales to make best use of the meat available and they spice everything to a huge degree. Meals are social times for Narakyians, and they nearly always eat out. Becoming good at cooking is considered a valuable talent and as a result, the Illesh Kingdom is peppered with thousands of unique restaurants and other eateries. They have many different dishes, with a lot containing Sand-Grass, a rough plant which is really the only thing they can farm. It grows easily and they make noodles and rough starch breads from it. Fruits and vegetables are considered rare, normally a treat for Narakyians. Everything they cook is spicy, incredibly spicy and meat is considered very plain if it doesn't have some sort of spice on it.
