We've been collecting submissions and upvotes over on Discord for the first half of the month for our next Fan Favorites video. The topic this month is on women in music, as it is Women's History Month.

We have a wide variety of musicians and musical styles in this list. 17 songs made the cut. Vote for up to 5 of your favorites from this list!

The poll will be active through Friday, March 24. Happy voting!

Here's a YouTube playlist of all these selections: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLO0n3LrUjxKqS8qevKjMCu_ohgRfq3gjv

Hoping Sandy Denny (Fairport Convention) makes the cut. I think I tried to get this beautiful song onto the Daily Doug previously.

Also voted for Flack, Ronstadt, Summer, and Anderson. Would have chosen Joplin if I only had a sixth vote!

Phil West Music

Shame there’s no Florence! Would love to hear your take on What The Water Gave Me

Great poll! I don't expect Esperanza Spalding to win but I'm happy just to see her mentioned, well worth checking out for any jazz heads!

George Davis-Stewart

An impossible mixture of genres and talents, generations indeed, from which to have to narrow down. I might have offered early Elkie Brooks (Vinegar Joe), Linda Hoyle (Pieces of Me), Marianne Faithfull (Broken English), Carla Bley, Annette Peacock, Lucy Swann if I had signed in.

John Clark

If the Donna Summer version of State of Independence makes it through I would hope that the good doctor follows it up by listening to the original by Jon & Vangelis.

Richard Plante

Great list, wish my submission of Halestorm was getting a little bit more love. But it’s still a lot of great choices.

Karl Stubsjoen

It just had to be Jon Anderson's great "State of Independence" and Donna Summer!

Tom Brophy

What! No Sinead. I picked a great one too....Fine then LOL.

I really hope Tal Wilkenfeld makes the cut.

The theme is women in music and there are no women in that duo... Jon Anderson may have a voice with a pitch range higher than most men but, as far as we know he is not a woman :P

Happy that Alanis is doing well. I had to vote for Laurie to because of multiple reasons 🕊️

Gregory Robert Goddu

If Tori loses and Alanis wins, I'll be a very sad person.
