I’m now certain you guys live in a bubble! No disrespect intended, a US drummer in a band passes, and we get a tribute. Charlie Watts passes, drummer in one of the most famous bands in the world passes, we get nothing. Burke Shelley passes, cited by many heavy metal bands as one of the founders of the genre, still nothing. Is it because they are not American I wonder…

It's a fair criticism. I thought about doing an episode like this for Gary Brooker and decided not to. In the end, the desire for an episode like this came from hanging out in our discord this past Saturday, listening to FF music with other patrons. And, it was suggested that we do an episode like this. I also thought of my friend, Brian, and wanted to talk to him. So, sometimes it's just a personal connection and a matter of timing.

I don’t participate in discord type of chat rooms, so wouldn’t be involved in that. I just am aware of what is happening in the world so whether it’s timing or not there is a bias inbuilt that impacts the material on offer through this subscribed channel. Also keep in mind that we at the least +5 hours ahead.

I'm not a fan of Discord and I guess that's my loss but I will say, I first heard the Foo Fighters cover of Gary Numan's song "Down In The Park" and I fell in love. Dave and Taylor always gave it 110% and that's more than anyone can do. I didn't realize that Taylor had an enlarged heart, almost twice the weight of the average and he still gave it all. Will miss you Taylor and thanks Doug!

Loved the tribute Doug! Heartfelt and classy. Been a fan of the Foo for a long time. My thoughts are with all who feel his loss. Could only imagine fans who had tickets to see them for the first time. To be that close……

I was able to watch the video on YT but when it was finished and I went to comment... it was gone. So... A sensitive and fitting tribute to not only a great drummer but a fun, energetic, and generous man. I particularly enjoyed the interview with Brian - his enthusiasm and energy is infectious! While in the end it was as emotional as I expected, it was done with great respect. Very nicely done, Doug.
