Extended Play Lounge - Episode 15 POLL (Patreon)

For our next EPL episode, due to drop around the first of March, I'm interested in your take on which album by Ayreon to listen to.

I have scored an interview with Arjen Lucassen this coming Tuesday, and I'm planning to release the interview to YT later in the week...likely Thursday. This is around the same time of the next EPL episode's release. And, since Ayreon came in second in the last poll we did, I'm elevating this artist past a 'first round' and asking which album to feature this time.

I'm excited to return to a newer recording after doing some classics recently.

I know the human equation is probably the most popular but the theory of everything is my favorite record of his by far

Next time Ayreon is under consideration, you also need to include Into the Electric Castle as a voting option. It's my next favorite Ayreon album after Human Equation

My top 3 albums are 01011001, into the electric castle, and the human equation, needless to say you know where my vote is on this one, although it would have been nice to see my other favorites as options too. Either way, glad to see ayreon finally making it into the extended lounge. I'm looking forward to it

Yippee! All good I can listen to a quality set of musicians and songwriters and classic masterpiece in Supertramp instead, thanks Doug for the Crime of the Century surprise!

Or it could just be that Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, King Crimson etc are somewhat better known than Ayreon, lol

Previous poll was over 1,700. So this one will have a lot less subscribers listening in. My interest is diminishing as there is a small group that are driving the direction of content. I used to listen to YT every other day, haven’t listened for two weeks

The previous poll allowed multiple voting. I’ve had this album on my list for most of a year. And, we’re actively working to expand our influence and direction, not shrink it.

Why wasn't the 01011001 album on this list? It probably wouldn't have beaten The Human Equation anyway. Actually I think I've heard that album only once but have watched The Theater Equation several times, which I personally enjoyed more. I'm looking forward to whatever is decided!!

As I see it, the number of votes does not define the grade of quality. Or my interest; in that respect The Daily Doug's channel is a great opportunity to discover new music. Which I am thankful for.

Apple Music or Spotify will do even YouTube once he has a feel for the style of music you like to listen to. Lots of ‘new’ music out there, prog music doesn’t have to be let’s go as obscure as possible. Good example would be the recent ‘furry rabbits in a bunker of nonsense’ or something like. My point is this is a paid subscription, a limited audience is interested compared to other votes. Almost 50% reduction.
