I didn't forget about this series, I just be rotating through a lot of WIPs! Oh so many WIPs, just flying around. But yes!!! Anywho!!! I had this as a sketch in my bag of tricks for weeks but was trying to decide a fitting bottom from the neighborhood. Not Gil or Ferris or even Langley because I can't see him boning down with them in particular in a place so grungy. They'd require at LEAST a politely padded sofa! After a friend mentioned that Keychain is their personal fav out of Paulie's Jersey-Devil Movers, that got me thinkin'. There's something so exciting about a character I haven't properly developed yet.
Often at times, I will make up characters on the fly as a means to fill a role, either to serve a supporting part in a bigger plot, or because I simply got inspired for a design but have no personality to plant into the vase that is their bod. And yet? That just means untapped potential!
So what's Keychain's deal? One of Paulie's crew, though perhaps not as bombastic as some of his other kin. Keychain runs the street's bodega, drugstore, adult shop, and sometimes tends Paulie's bar. All at once, somehow. Many have wondered how he manages to manage so many businesses simultaneously, but he's never provided a straight answer. On anything, for that matter. He's usually a mellow dude, if not rather sleepy looking at most hours, though his heavy personality-crutch of perpetual sarcasm can rub most people the wrong way. He's not typically very interested in the customers, often considering them to be the worst aspect of his jobs. Ceran is no exception, with Keychain having assumed him for the longest time to be little more than your jockish meathead type. However, enough regular visits and well-meaning attempts at conversation gets him feeling a little more amiable, and he is not immune to curiosity. Like anyone else, he's caught the passing whispers and the guilty gossip that's circulated from his peers. Really? Mr. Lynch from across the street? Surely not. Bored, and feeling a twinge of the devilment, Keychain nonchalantly and monotonously floated the offer to the man mid-ring-up of his Arizona Iced Tea and rolling papers.

"You don't seem like you're doin' anythin'. Wanna head to the back and pound one out?"

Ceran has never really been good at turning down gifts. Isklen cultural habit, surely.

Thank you for the patience, this silly thing took me several days!!! Every time I thought I'd have it done I was like "nah, sleep on it, let it rest." I'm trying to be better at letting myself take my time and be more thoughtful with the little details again! I would like to do more scene based stuff, and that involves making myself practice backgrounds— even if just in little portions like this!

Discord server still WIP, still futzing with shit, though I think I'll pair it going live with a new pin post! I'd like to make an all-accessible masterpost for finding things on my patreon, that way it'll be easier for everyone to effortlessly track things depending on what benefit you're seeking! Thank you for still reading, I know that took a lot of focus. I do not deliver information "short form."

Those on the Double Donut Tier expect your post in the next day or so. ❤️

Now that's my kind of neighborhood. Reasonable rents, very friendly neighbors.

My ass really went into chats like "hey is this size difference big enough?" And then I came back to it after I refreshed my eyes, being like "yea." (Thankyou, it always means a lot 💖)
