Hello lovely and loyal Patrons!!! Hope everyone is doing well out there in internet land.

What are you working on with your playing right now? Is it a particular tune or solo? Writing some original material? Digging into the metronome and adding a couple BPM to your playing? I wanna know!! Maybe i can help and even make a video about it!

Myself, i've got a to-do list a MILE long...

-working on my bass playing some more, i've got Andy Wood's Woodshed Guitar Camp next week, and i'll be part of the house band jamming with all the happy campers. I can't be the "you suck at guitar" guy and show up sucking at bass hahahaha

-(this is a big one) working on trying to reorganize my schedule so that i can be more efficient. My wife has been trying to tell me how much more effective i could be if i batch-made videos instead of just tacking them one at a time every week. I think especially with the new studio space to myself, there's no reason to be gathering material, setting up camera and lights, filming one video, then taking it ALL down again just to start over in a week! I've had a couple time-consuming projects on the back burner for months because they're so hard to cram into a schedule where i'm making weekly content on top of lessons, gigs, and everything else!

- working out like a maniac. I don't know if you all have seen any changes in my videos, but since about mid-May, i have been in the gym 6 days a week. 2020 = a lot of time sitting down and drinking beer/eating as entertainment, y'all!!! I was doing some light at-home workouts through the year, but it wasn't enough to keep up with my prodigious calorie consumption, and i ended up my highest weight i've ever been at the start of the year. I'm nearing 40, and my family health track record isn't exactly great, so i made a decision to build a healthier lifestyle for myself. Cutting back on booze and doing a push/pull/legs routine has been amazing. I haven't lost much weight yet (probably muscle weight offsetting it, i hope), but i can tell you that i feel better now at 37 than i did in my 20's. I wish i would have started doing this earlier, because i have found that i absolutely love it! Its also just the perfect time to listen to new music or podcasts.

- getting this new studio space set up. I'm gonna make a video aaaaaall about it when i get all my missing pieces of gear in (new studio desk, monitors, etc), so stay tuned!

- getting a sweet merch design made for Halloween! A friend of mine who is an amazing artist is collaborating with me on a sweet design for my favorite season, HALLOWEEN!!! Its going to be spooky and amazing. Hope you all dig it. It'll be available on shirts, stickers, all kinds of stuff.

- working on some acoustic tunes for a friend's wedding in a couple weeks. My old pal Mitch and i are doing some lovely acoustic renditions of songs by The Beatles, The Cure, Tears for Fears, The Darkness, and more. Sounding good so far!

- working on a sweet new jam track for you all, which is what i'm doing as soon as i post this up! OH, wait, first i gotta make those dream theater tabs!!! THEN i'll work on the track hahaha ....

Anyway, thanks a lot for reading, and i hope you all are doing well!!!

Putting together a classic rock band with a bunch of old guys. I am learning 4 songs at a time. Stone in Love, Blue Collar Man, Walk this way, and Hold On loosely. These are all songs I know, but I dont know the parts. I have to sing and play lead, rhythm where I can, and Keyboard where it's required. These songs are within my capability but I want too play them cleanly instead of playing AT them like I did 25 years ago.

I've watched you videos on palm muting, but I'm finding myself challenged by various metal styles, especially death and djent metal, that require interchanging between palm muting and open notes/chords. I definitely could use some exercises to help improve the use of palm muting in a musical sense, as opposed to "how to palm mute," like your other video I've seen.
